Fair, so I'd imagine they're in the ilk of Paderborn/Braunschweig? Still, if it means Red Bull don't have another success story so soon I'm all for it :woo:

Braunschweig has already won the Bundesliga ;)

ingolstadt were never in the Bundesliga and is a merger of MTV Ingolstadt and ESV Ingolstadt. both of them played some years in the 2. Bundesliga, one or two of them together.
they are still ranked 91th and 92th in the all time table with a pretty equal record

Comfortable for Leverkusen last night. Also looks like Paderborn are gonna continue to drop towards bottom spot (though that depends if Stuttgart can actually pick up any points anywhere).

Augsburg lose 0-2 at home to Mainz, Bayern comfortable winners at Bremen. Hoffenheim also comfortable at home to Hamburg, while Hertha conceded late on at home to Schalke in a 2-2 draw.

Dortmund vs Köln is the evening kick off.

Bayern have won now the last 35 games ( all competitions) in which Müller has scored and is unbeaten for the last 55.

Müller became also the german player who has scored the most goals in the champions league

Bad defeat for Augsburg although European football (CL or EL) would kill them.

Yeah, Bayern are winning games and scoring goals. Tell us news not history. Much more interesting is Wolfsburg with yet another emphatic win over Freiburg 3-0 yesterday. I've been doing some research and Wolfsburg only achieved 69 points in their title winning season back in 2008/09. Right now they are on 53 points with 9 games to go. With the form they're in, I wouldn't put it past them to beat that tally yet still finish second. Credit to them for keeping up with Bayern form-wise.
For the remaining two CL spots, Schalke and Augsburg lost valuable points. Schalke needed a late equaliser to avoid defeat in Berlin (2-2) while Augsburg suffered their first home defeat of 2015 against a resurgent Mainz (0-2). Good news for Gladbach and Leverkusen then who won their home games against struggling sides. Next weekend is massive. Leverkusen (4th) travel to Schalke (5th) but Gladbach will have a tough time benefitting from this encounter as they travel to Bayern who have only dropped points at home once against Schalke.

At the bottom, it's looking bleak for Stuttgart with yet another defeat, 0-4 at Leverkusen. As said before, Stuttgart will have trouble getting points on the road as they then travel to Wolfsbug, Augsburg and Schalke. Still no win in 2015 and this has to end next weekend when they host Frankfurt (who are doing really well in 8th just 4 points off Europe).
Freiburg are 2nd bottom as they lost their 3rd game on the trot at Wolfsburg and Paderborn are in the play-off spot and on a terrible run: 4 games, 4 defeats, 0 goals scored, 15 conceded.
The rest of the bottom half have a slight cushion but could get pulled into it anytime.

Looks like the title race is back on in the Buli Zwei with Ingolstadt dropping points against direct opponents Karlsruhe. Darmstadt and Kaiserslautern say thank you to Karlsruhe as they both won their games. Ingolstadt are now just 3 points clear at the top and the goal difference is not that dissimilar to the other sides.

At the bottom, St Pauli could only draw at home to FSV Frankfurt but hey 3 games without losing now. They stay second bottom though as Aalen won the 6-pointer against Aue 3-0. Massive win for 1860 who got the points at Fürth who are doing all they possibly can to invite themselves in this relegation race. Beats mid-table boredom I guess.

Is this a big derby then?!?

Always thought it strange that the Berlin only seemed to have Hertha but it seems the rest of the Berlin sides are struggling in the lower leagues. Union are in Buli Zwei though yeah?

It was probably the biggest derby in East Germany. My masters dissertation was on fan culture and identity in East Germany and I had an entire chapter about the rivalry between FCU and Dynamo. It was a rivalry that went much deeper than football with Dynamo being the Stasi team.

Must be the first time in a long time that neither Bayern or Wolfsburg won in a match day!?

Anyway, elsewhere…Good wins for Gladbach (obviously), Leverkusen and Dortmund on the road. Freiburg had a solid win against Augsburg, where the wheels seem to have come off a bit. Huge 3 points for Stuttgart too, who just had to get a result to stop being cut adrift. Hertha winning at Hamburg was also a big 3 points for them.

Table wise, Bayern's lead is 10 points (as unlikely as it is they'll be caught, Wolfsburg will be kicking themselves for dropping points yesterday). Gladbach and Leverkusen look set for the Champions League spots. 5th and 6th is still incredibly open, with 10th placed Dortmund only 6 points behind rivals Schalke in 5th.

At the bottom, it's tight with only 7 points separating 11th place Mainz to bottom side Stuttgart. Hannover seem to be in free fall, while Paderborn's form hasn't improved, seeing them drop to 17th.

While the top four looks settled this season, the rest of the league is completely open which should hopefully make it a bloody exciting end!

Yeah Gladbach and Leverkusen basically killed the top 4 race this weekend. The two EL spots are wide open though with Schalke and Augsburg in poor form. It is incredible that Dortmund are now only 5 points from Europe while they were bottom in early February. Just goes to show you how tight this league is.

Stuttgart finally won a game at the bottom, their first in 10. They showed character as well as Eintracht were 1-0 up having scored early in the second half. Paderborn are still in very poor form with 5 games without a win and no goals scored during those 5 games. Hamburg are in worse form though with 2 points from 6 games. They sacked their manager, Josef Zinnbauer, yesterday. Not sure if it's the right move. Thought he sorted the defence alright when he took over from Slomka. Peter Knäbel is Hamburg's 3rd manager this season.
One vital factor is going to be the goal difference. Paderborn stopped the rut of defeats but they still have the worst one at -27. Hamburg isn't far behind at -21 while Stuttgart is getting better at -19.

Let's a do a run-in analysis of the bottom 5 (not saying that Mainz, Köln and Hertha BSC are out of the woods just yet although I'll be surprised if they went down):
Hannover: Frankfurt (a), Hertha (h), Leverkusen (a), Hoffenheim (h), Wolfsburg (a), Bremen (h), Augsburg (a), Freiburg (h).
Freiburg: Köln (h), Schalke (a), Mainz (h), Stuttgart (a), Paderborn (h), Hamburg (a), Bayern (h), Hannover (a).
Hamburg: Leverkusen (a), Wolfsburg (h), Bremen (a), Augsburg (h), Mainz (a), Freiburg (h), Stuttgart (a), Schalke (h).
Paderborn: Hertha (a), Augsburg (h), Dortmund (a), Bremen (h), Freiburg (a), Wolfsburg (h), Schalke (a), Stuttgart (h).
Stuttgart: Wolfsburg (a), Bremen (h), Augsburg (a), Freiburg (h), Schalke (a), Mainz (h), Hamburg (h), Paderborn (a).

Looking at this Freiburg are the only side who still has to play against every single member of the bottom 5 (aside from themselves of course) so they have their destiny very much in their own hands. I also reckon Stuttgart's last 3 games are all winnable but it remains to be seen whether this weekend's win will reinvigorate the squad as they do have Wolfsburg away next.
I actually reckon Hamburg are in serious danger of finishing second bottom. The next 4 games are really tough and it may be too late to save themselves by the time they travel to Mainz. Also playing Schalke on the final day isn't a good thing as the other 4 will be playing each other.
I can't see past Paderborn finishing bottom however. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't pick up a single point till the end of the season.

Paderborn have to be looking at getting something from their games with Hertha, Freiburg and Stuttgart at the least, in my book. 6/7 points from that isn't totally out of the question, albeit unlikely.

I'm disappointed there's no Buli this weekend, but next weekend should be good with Der Klassiker at the Westfalenstadion. Dortmund unbeaten since I saw them back at the start of February, while Bayern will be looking to avoid back to back defeats for the first time in the League since April last year, where they lost at Augsburg before Dortmund smacked them at the Allianz.

Also, I was reading about Thomas Tuchel earlier, and it's quite an unusual situation with him isn't it? Having to sit out the rest of his contract despite leaving Mainz last summer. Strange one, but he's a good manager who won't have much issue getting a job. Perhaps the man to turn Hamburg around if/when they dispense with another manager..

Matchday 27 then.

Saturday sees a few interesting games. Wolfsburg should be taking the points at home to Stuttgart, though the visitors won for the first time in yonks before the break so they'll be hoping to avoid defeat to gain some momentum. A tough ask, as the Wolves have dropped just four points all season at the VW arena. Leverkusen are also home, to Hamburg, in a game which you'd think would also end in a home victory. 3rd place Gladbach go to Hoffenheim - a fixture I wouldn't be surprised to see a few goals in.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Bremen host Mainz in a mid table clash. Bremen's home form has lifted them out of danger and they only sit 4 points from the top 6, such is the tightness of the league this season. They should be looking for 3 points, but Mainz haven't lost since February. Joint on points with Bremen is Frankfurt, who welcome Hannover. Another game where I would anticipate a home victory, as Hannover have slipped right into the relegation battle at the wrong time. Freiburg host Koln in what should be an interesting game. The hosts beat Augsburg last time out, and will be hoping to record back to back wins, while Koln have turned into draw specialists, drawing 5 of their last 8. A tight game, no doubt.

Finally Saturday sees Dortmund host Munich in the evening kick off. BVB are unbeaten in 8 and have gone from bottom to the top half, and now have their eyes on Europa League football next season. They've met twice already this season, with Dortmund winning the Super Cup in August before Bayern won 2-1 at the Allianz.

Sunday sees 6th vs 5th as Augsburg host Schalke, before a clash between two strugglers as Hertha welcome Paderborn to the capital.

Hoping Gladbach win and all but secure CL football. I also don't want Hoffenheim anywhere near European football. There are much better clubs to represent the Bundesliga.

Leipzig have signed Werder Bremen striker Davie Selke this week and will be blowing loads of cash this summer to get promoted to the first division. Hoffenheim just looked one hell of a lot nicer.
Augsburg in the EL will be grand (although it may kill them what with the added games and all that).

Doing alright so far - 3-1 up at half time.

I remember they came 4th 2/3 seasons ago but got knocked out in the qualifiers...

Stuttgart holding Wolfsburg atm - surely won't last?

Barca certainly weren't at their peak under him though they did get rather predictable in his last season there.

I enjoy watching Guardiola sides. I love the patient pass and move approach. As said, Barca & Spain 2008-2012 were so good to watch.

After yesterday's result, I can't see the bottom 3 (Hamburg, Paderborn and Stuttgart) changing. Freiburg got a very important win against Köln and Hannover got a good point at Frankfurt. Reckon Paderborn will finish bottom (they play at Hertha Berlin in a few minutes, if they lose it would all but confirm survival for Hertha imo).
So the big question of the end of the season will be: who will finish 16th: Hamburg or Stuttgart? Reckon it'll be Hamburg. I watched a bit of Stuttgart's game at Wolfsburg yesterday and they had a bit of fight in them. Wolfsburg first was a penalty, their second was a free-kick that no one touched while the third they were just caught on the break. Just get this feeling that Stuttgart will pull through and get that very coveted 16th place.

Kehl has just scored a screamer to put Dortmund 3-2 up on Hoffenheim in the Pokal.

I was gonna go to this too :gmc:
