OK why have we been given an "initial" allocation of 1,738 tickets , with various restriction on buying tickets until 30 August and no post outs after 31 August. Why not an allocation of 2,500 and general sale after a couple of days this week, and then so what if we send 500 back (not sure we would). A ST holder will get me my tickets but it's all a bit of a faff for exiles (again). And next up away we have Mansfield, with a silly ko time...

I thought we'd put this sort of fannying around for local(ish) games behind us with Lincoln...

If you learn anything about Notts it's that the coppers are idiots. We took 2700 to County last year so I'm assuming they've only gave you that much to plan stewards etc.

Why do you call yourselves 'Gy'? It sounds silly in my head whenever I read it. Is it pronounced 'guy' or 'ghee'?

I don't know why don't put us behind the goal like they used to. That stand must hold about 5000. I can remember Paul Reece throwing the ball into his own net when we won 2-0 there many moons ago.

I don't know why Ghee Why, just short for Grimsby I assume, my uncle always used to use it - he was a rural Lincolnshire type...phonetically he would say something like - A yer off to watch Ghay Whiy on Saterdy mayate...

Notts are trying to do away with tickets altogether so I am not surprised its a "faff". I don't know if you can as home fans do but a print your own service is in operation (i think)
You will never get the Kop as it is now home fans, you will get the Sirrel and closest to the family stand (unless you fill it, it holds 4,800) so you will have the kids screaming at you all game ;)
Us fans want you closest to the Kop but that apparently is a logistical nightmare for stewards and police as it means the exit turnstiles both come out on the same road for home and away fans (it still does where you are but you can walk round past the family stand which is obviously better in the powers eyes)

I doubt Grim would sell out the Sirrell, the Mighty Stags of Woodhouse didn't manage it last season. I'd be surprised if you even sold out that initial allocation tbh. I know Nottinghamshires finest, the worlds oldest league club are a big draw and all, but seriously, the locals in Cleethorpes don't get much further than the Lincolnshire border

Why are they trying to kill atmosphere in grounds these days? If they don't want people leaving onto the same street just lock the away fans in for 10 minutes.

It's the exact same at Field Mill, Away fans have the North Stand despite it being our fucking stand and instead of meeting on Quarry Lane now the fans just clash at the junction near Burger King which is one of the busiest in town!

Notts Police ay, The same idiots who moved Mansfield v Notts County to 12.15KO yet the reverse fixture is a 13.00KO.

I feel like we should have a official away allocation thread at this rate.

Bizarre that this is all ticket, the stand holds nearly 5,000 ffs. I suspect it's something to do with the police who've suddenly decided that they're interested in us.

It'll be Grimsby who set the restrictions on buying tickets, though, not Notts. Seems a bit pointless as you're never going to sell out the whole stand, so might as well just stick it straight on general sale.

Not sure where this mystical firm has come from or what it's even called. All seems a bit strange. But it means we are heavily policed these days, with lots of restrictions

It's all ticket as you've only given us just over 1700 tickets, I doubt they'll even get to general sale as we have nearly 3000 season ticket holders who get first chance to buy them.

It's not. We could give you 4,500 tickets if necessary, but it'll be based on what sort of following your club thinks you're gonna bring.

I'm normally someone who underestimates our away support and is then pleasantly surprised by what we take, but for Notts we will for certain sell out the initial 1700+ tickets, virtually everone i've asked is going even people at work who havn't been home or away yet this season are going and staying over.

I doubt that very much. I know someone who works at the club and was told that we wanted to take at least 2500 tickets but Notts would only give us that "initial" allocation. Hopefully if and when we do sell out then we'll get more.

Lower league football just wouldn't be the same without Grimsby fans complaining about ticket allocations.

Love those first two words mate. :2thumb:

At least you will still have the Tranmere fans there complaining about allocations when they sell out Southport/Wrexham/Chester etc!

We thought we'd put all this behind us, years of sneaking quietly into that silly little home stand down the side at Lincoln, no black and white shirts for the kids and pre-match revision of the names of the Lincoln players for them in case we got questioned at the turnstiles - what's the fat one called again...actually we never had any problems...

Not sure we'll sell out the initial allocation. Lose on Saturday and we definitely won't.

Well Doncaster made a valiant early attempt to win the 2016 Luton Town Award For Being A Bunch Of Bertie Big Bollocks (aka My Club Is Too Fucking Massive To Be Here), but Grimsby are running away with it at the moment.

Notts police are fucking mad!

We've 12.15 KO's against Grimsby, Notts Co and Doncaster, I mean really?

Would be daft if they made it all ticket for Mansfield, but you know they will do now.

I can't see how highlighting infringements of personal liberty is Bertie Big Bollocks. I can't buy a ticket for a sporting event at a venue that overall will be less than 50% full on the day, in a stand that will be less than 50% full on the day. I don't know who is imposing these restrictions - NCFC, GTFC or Plod or a combo. But restrictions they are...I have to feck around asking a friend to buy them for me, arrange to meet him on the day to get them. That is the bollox...ok...?
