Good news, should have gone after the play off Final, the second half of last season was such an anti climax littered with poor performances and results. Then this season he should have gone after a 4-0 home loss to Huddersfield , that coming after losses at Charlton and at home to Exeter, more fans turned when we lost 5-0 to Stockport, lost to Wigan again, and we have been dire since. The stubborn style of football and Ian Evatt's general unlikeable personality have not helped along with some dubious transfer business when he has fallen out with Afalayan, Charles, Sarcevic etc and they have departed despite being our better players. Could have been gone sooner and spared us the toxicity and it will be hard to get the fans back that we have lost,

He should have gone after only salvaging a last minute equaliser against us. We are dire anyway and also had so many players out injured that we had five academy players and a goalie making up 6 of our 7 subs. Bolton should have destroyed us.

If they get Ryan Lowe they're getting the exact same manager, and someone with an equally as loathsome personality.

Zero deviation from 3-5-2 and zero idea how to change a game.

How could we destroy anyone with the formation he played.........5 at the back Two holding midfielders and three up front none that are out and out Strikers

Confident that we will soon be moving up the league....Not this year certainly next

Nice of Evatt to give it the old, 'I've stepped aside for the good of the club', yet a week ago it was we need to see where we are at the end of the season.

Agree with comments r.e. Evatt as a person though, I think he comes across as a right prick. You can throw him into the Evans, Robinson, Coleman, Barton etc group of managers.

I dont read too much into personalities of managers. Wenger and Ferguson seem like complete bellends but they did alright. You have to get results though.

Schumacher the obvious choice for Bolton.

A job Wellens has made no secret he’d like, but can’t see Bolton paying compensation for him when a better candidate like Lowe or Schumacher are available for nothing.

Yeah, but also times change too, great though they were, would they get away with that now, probably not.

You’ve got to invest time in the players now, be a good man manager, get them onside, with you -be flexible - Evatt doesn’t remotely strike me like that, it’s my way or do one basically - which is backed up from the bolton fans i know in manchester and also from what’s been said on here in relation to transfer activity out of the club.

Get bolton with a decent manager and they’ll be a damn good side.

Yes I agree, same with players, Greenwood is popular now with Marseille and El Hadji Diouf was a bit of a bell when he was at Bolton, spitting on people etc but he he did well so was popular with the fans.If Evatt had got results he would have not had much criticism. Fans are fickle, this will bond the fanbase again for a while but if it goes pear shaped the same thing will happen as it would with most clubs. It's of course a result business. Not comparing Mason Greenwood with Evatt btw, he is on a different level of despicable IMO

Cant believe these rumours of Caldwell being interviewed are anything but a wind up.
Though he is missing from our press conference today, apparently.

Schumacher is the obvious appointment really. Apparently was interviewed yesterday along with Richardson.
101 point title win over that Ipswich team, local to the club, got the best out of Lowe’s squad where need somebody to get the best out of Evatt’s squad, no compo needed & only got shown the door in the league higher over a row with Jon Walters supposedly.

Obviously would be all for Gary O’Neil as he nearly managed us before he became Liverpool U23 assistant but will see himself no lower than the Champ after experiencing such big jobs in such a short time. Rob Edwards similar boat but he’s Evatt’s best mate in football. David Wagner’s name is right out there due to his links with our Director Chris Markham who worked with him at Hudds.

Do not want Leam Richardson at all… coming of an absolute horrific spell at Rotherham, ex Wiganer which will be toxic from the start. Ritchie Wellens is another gobsh*te of a manager that would rub the fans up the wrong way but be funny to see if he could actually do what he says is so easy to do with our squad. Not really into the thought of Buckingham literally has a rep based on one match against Evatt which isn’t really impressive in hindsight. Don’t fancy Lowe either, can’t be arsed listening to managers who think they’re bigger than the club. We became Ian Evatt FC instead of Bolton Wanderers.

These are the bookies' favourites for the Wycombe job at the moment, unsurprisingly a bunch of the same names as for the Bolton job.

Screenshot 2025-01-23 123559.png

Often I think the bookies literally get these names either from fan sites, or because some random has put a bet on them, and you find that someone gets the job who wasn't even on the list.

I just hope the whole process is over soon, I'm not sure I can take the avalanche of speculation and supposition that's going on on our forum at the moment over why Bloomfield left in the first place/who his replacement is going to be.

I know that half that point of a forum is to vent pointless hot air, but my god the Wycombe forum at the moment is taking that to a whole new level.

How the f**k does Lee Johnson still feature in these betting odds for L1 sides. Last seen absolutely getting his arse handed to him at Fleetwood.

 love you long time

I deliberately cut off the screenshot before it plumbed as far down as Rooney (33/1), though I imagine you'd be even happier with the thought of him as Wycombe manager.

I think both would do an equally 'good' job :P1:...or Matt Taylor

Can’t see Bolton going for Caldwell, although quite a bit of chatter on Exeweb that he’s had an interview and he was conspicuous by his absence at yesterday’s press call.

His family are based up north so I think it’s only a matter of time before he moves on. He’s done well here considering our budget being minuscule compared to many. He does have a very streaky record though, so something to be wary of should he go to a club with high expectations.

From the ongoing farce that is the latest "Next Wycombe Manager" odds market:

Screenshot 2025-01-24 121030.png

:ffs:

how much compensation would we have to pay Barrow if we steal their new manager after 4 days? :pond:

And I know it would be ridiculous to get one's knickers in a twist over the random names that appear on this list, but Evatt...please no.
