Is this the way to (Amarillo) relegation?

Looking at the points column, I reckon it MIGHT take nearly 50 to stay up!

Obviously every season is different, but this time last season you needed 31 points to be outside of the bottom 3. And by the end of the season you needed 42 to stay up.

This season right now you only need 27 points, so 4 points fewer.

I'd be shocked if a team gets relegated on 1.00 points per game or greater this year given how low the points tally is at the moment.

I bow to your experience of this division Madj. That means we / MK and Blackburn only need 11 points for safety though and surely we will need more than that? Judging by that, the bottom 3 have had it!

That was probably an extreme season, but on average over the past 10 years, 48 points has been enough. As it stands so far this season it seems lower than most.

Imagine being a Posh supporter and going down with 54 points. They lost their first seven games that season too, so were practically in play-off form for 39 games.

I'm going for 42/43pts.

I think Rotherham are the only ones from that bottom three who could make it interesting.

Still think we are down. 7 point gap is a tough ask BUT home form is better and we have 8 home matches left.....clutching at straws comes to mind

The gap looks to be getting too big to me now. Fulham have a bit too much quality to go down, and if City and Dons can keep their recent form up for 2-3 more games I think that will be that. Didn't realise the gap had gotten so big so quickly

If we can go on a decent run of form in our next 6 games (City H, Huddersfield H, Blackburn A, QPR H, Charlton A, Hull A) then I believe we can be safe enough, it looks like we have one of the nicer run ins as well so hopefully this new style of play continues to be succesfull against the bigger clubs, and we can keep beating, or at least drawing to, the teams around us at home as we've not lost to any of the teams below Leeds.

Tomorrows game will be crucial dependant on the result, anything other than a Fulham win is pretty good for us all considering Blackburns other game in hand is against Boro

I'm glad we got the required points in the first half of the season, else we'd be in huge trouble right now. Thankfully we can just write the season off (again) and go again next season.

Won't you fail FFP and be under an embargo?

I'd be amazed if they don't...

If they sell a couple in the summer they can probably get away with it. You can offset losses from the previous season with sales in the summer (we used Odubajo's and Gray's fees to do that)

I don't think we will. The only logical reason for not appointing a manager until the end of the season is that that would take us over.

Hopefully Fulham can beat Rovers tonight and drag them further into it. For us to beat them in April to drop them into the bottom 3, would be fucking hilarious after them singing about promotion at Deepdale.

Using a predictor and letting it calculate results off recent form, it produces this (no idea how, but it does)

If it's based on recent form then there is no way it would have us down in 18th and it certainly wouldn't have the likes of Blackburn and Reading above us.

I used the same thing last year and it came up with some shockers too. Just to prove it wasn't me messing with it and it was "based off recent form" - I did one:
