Football is not about entertainment. I don't get people who think it is. It's about winning. I'd rather watch us win 1-0 in a shit game than draw 4-4 or lose 5-4.

Winning is entertaining - it's when you're not winning and you're not attractive when it starts to go wrong. Your fans have been loving Grayson this season - he's deployed the same style of play this season as last, yet when you went through a sticky patch last season playing the same football most of your fanbase wanted him out.

I'll be honest pal, watching us under Stuart Gray last season was fucking horrific, despite some good results, fuck being bored at footy, i prefer this season and this style we have, albeit it failed down at Bristol.

Surely by being relegated MK fans you will be in an even worse position than you are in currently. I don't see how going down will improve anything. It's not like you fluked your way into promotion like Yeovil or some other team did, you were a very solid team. You go down now and what will you have?

JJH has hit the nail on the head fur how I feel.

It will improve things, we can attract better players there and start again.

Not for the money men/staff/players. But for fans? Of course it's about entertainment. You won't ever get everyone to agree on what is entertaining though and there's nothing wrong with that. In sports the results cloud this somewhat (ie you'd rather win than draw/lose) but it's still there. You have to get some enjoyment out of it else why would you put yourself through it? I wouldn't pay £500+ a season to sit at Carrow Road bored out of my skull when I could sit at home and do the same, by staring at a wall or something, for free.

Better players? If you can't attract championship quality now by your own admission, what makes you think you can in League One or if you come back up?

I mean better players in relation to the league we are in.
But if you go up won't the same issue arise again?

As t'old Einstein said "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

They need to generate some revenue or get a cash influx, that's the only reason they're not attracting players is because of the money on offer.

They'll be better suited to the division when they have a new training ground and find a way of getting themselves some money to hand out.

We'll be fine in a few years once the area is making a lot of money, and the hotel is filled completely on all sides of the stadium, with the training ground doubling as community pitches that should get some income too

But Championship = more money = more attractive prospect. It is that fucking simple.

Agent : You've been offered £2.5k a week to play for MK Dons in the 2nd tier
Player A: But they have a crap training ground
Agent : Well you could sign for Northampton in Lg1 for £2.5k
Player A : So same money, better training ground, league below?
Agent : Yep
Player A : MK Dons

How much more money is it though? It's not like the PL where you get a multi million pound TV deal. There will be a bit of TV money, and an extra few away fans at the stadium every year - what else?

It's around 4m in TV money alone. Increased home crowds of what nearly 4k a game, call it a tenner per person that's another Mill, add in Commercial increases it could be quite a whack.

Football is not about entertainment.

For the casual fan it is, hence why our attendances have been cack this season.

Anyone who watched that 0-0 draw with Bolton on TV would have been put off for the entire season.

I enjoyed watching us under Billy Davies, high tempo pressing with good wide men and it seems a lot of other people did too as our home gates were about 2,500 higher than what they are now. JJH is right, if the wins are harder to come by next season and the football remains the same, most PNE fans will be entertaining the idea of potting Grayson.

When I go to Deepdale I want to see us win and play entertaining football, the two aren't mutually exclusive but obviously this season most agree that it's all about staying up, even if it isn't pretty.

Same amount they've been buzzing about getting for Alli and spending on a new training ground, stay up and it's paid for itself.

Are you a closet Mkat fan btw? I couldn't ever stand up to the most detestable club in history.

I don't like the club, but I have absolutely nothing against the younger fans. BCS is 20 (so he tells me), so when the club were formed he was 7. He's grown up and he's supported a local team. What's wrong with that? I have so much more respect for him and other young MK fans than I would if I walked about in Milton Keynes and saw kids in Chelsea, United, Liverpool shirts etc.

It'll take generations for us to achieve a proper fanbase, that's the main reason why our away attendances are awful in comparison to our home support, and the reason that for the amount of home fans we get the atmosphere is wank. We have the 'core fanbase' that does every game they can, tries to make noise etc. We have the kids that come with parents, that have only really known us as a club but can't go to away games because their families won't let them, and the adults who come as it's local but have grown up supporting another club.

Another thing to take into account is that MK as a city is 49 years old, and people have only really moved in, there aren't a great deal of adults without another club that they've followed for years.

You're basing that on the assumption he had no interest at all in Football before the age of 7.

I get all that and agree 100% but still cannot see the logic in being better off staying down, I really don't! Please don't take any of my posts as a dig at BCS as they're most definitely not but I do feel the logic is somewhat flawed TBH.

Until now MK fans didn't even know what a bad season was. Apart from their first couple of seasons they haven't even had a finish outside the top half. Clearly don't like it when things aren't going their way, preferring to get relegated back to a shite league where you've just spent 7 years because it's easier? Defeatist attitude.

I watched Chelsea a few times but too far and expensive to do it on the regular.

When Dons came my dad got us both a season ticket and have been ever since.

Viva la franchise

You'll never feel like a 'proper' Football club because you'll never be a 'proper' Football club.
