I see our old friend Aber gas loitering.
Would you want a pop at the Championship Aber even though your infrastructure is (WTGR) awful at the mo or do you agree with our friend from MK?
I think I already know the answer TBH.

No, you're not the same entity or one simply reborn you stole an established clubs League place for the few sheckles of coin, do you really believe the creepy child catcher would have given two fucks without the stadium and land?

MK as a city, should it have wanted a football team, should have grown one organically.

Yes we should have, but I hardly think blaming the fans is the right way to go about it, I support them because they are my local team, as do 90% of the people that come, the other 10% were Wimbledon FC fans that followed the club up. Saying that we 'stole an established clubs league place for the few sheckles of coin' in my eyes is disrespectful to them, who didn't abandon the club when it needed them most but followed them wherever.

Why? The fans, their sickening backing, albeit in modest numbers for the size of the City, is the reason it was allowed to happen, had they had morals they'd have stayed away and let the phoenix club die.

Some people are just set in their ways of hating us I guess, but I'd still prefer the fans that came and followed Wimbledon up here to the ones that refused to buy the club in the first place for £1 or however little they were offered it for.

10% lol where the fuck are you bringing that number from. Your highest estimates are about 200, that is nowhere near 10% of your fanbase or Wimbledon FC's.

You talking crap about Wimbledon FC's fans "abandoning the club when it needed them most" is a load of bollocks and you know it.

The attendances in the 90's were cute, I'd call that abandoning when you look at what they needed to generate to survive at Selhurst.
I have nothing against what AFC have done I'll add, I'm just not a huge fan of the fans

Alright when your club gets fucked over by its owners and moved around and the fans treated like shit you can make the same argument.

Course I'd love to see us competing in the championship! I would always want to see my team playing at the highest possible level even if that meant having to scrap for points. What's the point otherwise? Football is aspirational and I can't really see the attraction of having limited ambition. There is a big difference between being realistic about your club and actively wanting them to regress.

Can we stop the formation debate it's boring as fuck and it doesn't belong in the relegation thread.

It's ok MK Dons, we are a franchise too. In the 1800's we moved from St Lukes FC to become Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Founded in 1871 as Reading FC. Currently named Reading FC. No name change in between (though Robert Maxwell tried his hardest).

Does changing our nickname make us a franchise?

Even Bristol City used to be Bristol South End. Everyone's a franchise really
No they're not. Changing a name, willingly joining two clubs together or reforming the original club is not the same as wilfully stealing another clubs identity, appropriating it's history and taking it's league place.

Now that's something you don't see every day, a gashead sticking up for City. Correct as well.
Nice one Aber!

Looking at MK, they've had relative success since they were formed and I'm wondering if this year of struggle is a reality check for what is a fairly new club?
Without opening the MK / Wimbledon debate, I am wondering if the fact that supporting a club means good years and painful years has been over looked a bit?
For me, as a youngster, my team were top flight, wonderful, yet 7 years later we were bottom of division 4! Still my club when times get hard just as it is when things are good.
Totally agree with this. We've picked up a lot of fans over the past couple of years who have only known Benham's great ownership of the club, play off and promotion campaigns. Now that we have a season of struggle they want to call for his head.

This season hasn't been great, but we're still playing some pretty good football, at the highest level we've been in living memory. I remember shaking buckets and being 15 minutes from not having a club. These are probably going to be the best years of being a Brentford supporter we'll ever have.

I don't buy the "we aren't ready as a club for the Championship" excuse. So?? You could say that about 6-8 clubs in this division. We aren't, Rotherham aren't, and I love the way they've done everything they can to fight and stay in the league this season.

A club should always fight to be better. A season or two after relegation can be fun as you can see your team return to winning ways and build something new, but there's no guarantee of that. For us if we go down we could just as easily drop into League 2 and go bust.

How much more money is it though? It's not like the PL where you get a multi million pound TV deal. There will be a bit of TV money, and an extra few away fans at the stadium every year - what else?
Our revenue pretty much doubled in coming up. That's a lot more that can be spent on wages (we still have the smallest or second smallest turnover in the league at the moment)

Initially, we were a rowing club... still called Brentford though.

We can't go down on Saturday. Most we can be away is 12 points with 4 to play.

We can get relegated at Sheffield Wednesday on the Tuesday though.

Just out of interest.......

Who has the FA cup in their trophy cabinet, is it MK?

If so, I think they could do their club a massive favour by giving the cup to AFC, and by dropping Dons from their name.
