Surprised there isn’t a thread for this open already (apologies if I’ve missed it).

Who do you fancy, then?

Carlisle home or away first would be very interesting, but I think one of those fixtures will fall on Boxing Day/NYD anyway.

I think we’ll draw a Southern club at home - I’m gonna go with Wimbledon with our first away game being Morecambe.

I think ours has to be away as the RL team are at home that day so Port Vale away, might as well get them with the best players out of the way early

MK Dons at home - and it’s LIVE (on SKY).

Bradford at home to start on Sky... that's Graham Alexander taking the piss with 5,000 away fans then. Brilliant

I’d have fancied us to take at least a couple of thousand down, but not now it’s on SKY.

Every game is on Sky the opening weekend. MK away, not one anyone would pick as first choice against one of the favourites but to get one of the hardest games, away, out of the way early on whilst those early results are always a bit of a lottery, I’ll take it.

Fleetwood away for us first. Ballache for me that, but a night stop over in Blackpool potentially.

My lads just told me that our first 3 aways are Fleetwood Notts County and Chesterfield fuck me!
That means there’s gonna be some right shite left at the back end of the season.

So as I understand it for any fixtures up to the end of September will find out within a week what if any will get moved. Of our first two months can’t see any that would catch the eye of Sky in all honesty (maybe Vale v Chesterfield at a push??).

See they’ve given us and Colchester midweek trips for our respective fixtures with each other. Nice!

Last year we lost the majority of our backroom staff to Shrewsbury - opening day, Shrewsbury away.

This season we've appointed a Newport legend as manager in the summer - opening day, Newport home.

Walsall away the day after my 40th could be decent. Bromley away on the final day is the only disappointment really.

According to our first graphic you've got a free weekend on October 26th too as we completely missed our fixture at your place off!

They've done the same with us and Gillingham. Always a couple of fixtures that seem like the EFL have decided to sack off for the majority of a fanbase.

We have Carlisle and Barrow away on Tuesday nights in the same month. We should be able to appeal that IMO.

As opposed to Real Madrid away at the San Siro in League One? Have a word mate you only had 2 seasons up there. Maidenhead away first game is the real silent tear fixture

Really bland fixtures for Crewe. Chesterfield to open the home fixtures and Tranmere final away game are the only 2 moderately interesting fixtures. The rest are just meh.

Delighted to be playing you mate, especially at home. Expect you to bring great support. Not sure what to expect from our lads, Stockley to Vale which was a surprise but hey he was on big money so that should free up a few bob. Hopefully we'll see some signings before long.Have a good season.

Reckon it will be a struggle for a ticket at Fleetwood and Chesterfield . I will probably just do Notts and avoid the hassle + i love the little craft beer place over there at the train station before walking to the ground .

Doesn't make it any more attractive does it! Flickers has a lot to answer for.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
That is a very tough start for Carlisle, wasn’t what I had hoped for because the crucial thing Carlisle needed was a strong start to get rid of that losing mentality’ developed last season.

On positive view I suppose we get gillingham and barrow when they have totally new set ups of manager and squad, but some very tough on paper games at the start which may heap a lot of early pressure on Simpson.

If you do look on the positive side if we come out of the first group of games in a strong position it will be a huge confidence boost and statement of intent….but is going to be tough to achieve it.

What's the away allocation at Fleetwood? Trying to think of comparable opening day trips in recent times. I remember being at Morecambe on the opening day between NL stints when Max Wright scored, think there were around 900 or so there then?
