This is the first managerial appointment in a while that's made me take notice, it's going to be an interesting watch.

Klopp: "I’ll be back to train a team. It must be somewhere in the world that is not an absolute top club"

Definitely the best one we got after Benitez. Hopefully fans don't turn on him after few bad results!

Fair play, Klopp was the absolute best man for the job and Liverpool got their man. He's got a very tough job on his hands but I like Klopp and am interested to see what he does with Liverpool. Hopefully it all goes tits up. And good on him for not waiting around for one of the plastic clubs like Chelsea or Etihad.

Pretty impressive appointment, nothing guaranteed but he's a very sought after manager. I think this might be the last time chance for Liverpool to pull themselves back up to the top table, if Klopp fails then I see them being cast adrift forever.

I'm expecting a tricky first few games...players on international duty..some may come back with niggles, not had pre season and he's got tough welcome to premiership...away to spurs!

Then Rubin Kazan, Southampton, Chelsea, Palace, City and another Rubin game in between. The guy really thrown himself into the caildron.

Hoping he's allowed one or two signings in January.

When he made comments...my next club has to be one that isn't the absolute best...or along those lines...I was made up as that put us in the running!

My only small concern is the length of the contract, an extra year would have been nice but there is no reason why, if things go well, there can't be an extension signed within 18 months I guess.

Also, where's Bilo? Went off in a huff a week or so back, would like to get his opinion of this.

Don't worry Pags - I get the feeling his workload is going to clear right up very soon.

Fuckin told that divvy chimp Jim Jams that Klopp would jump at the chance to build something at Liverpool. Glad for once to be proven right.

Said in the media fairly recently that if he comes back, he wants a challenge. Liverpool are a great compromise in that respect. Still a fairly big club on the world stage but have underachieved for a long time. I think it's exactly the sort of job he'll ultimately go for.

Oh and he's going to fail, but then that is obvious. Eccentric independent to somehow balance constrictive transfer structure and needy, entitled fanbase.... Recipe for disaster.

I reckon most fans will be patient, given that Klopps's a proven manager. And I gotta agree with TheArtfulDodger , if he's not able to turn Liverpool around they're pretty fucked.

Now...where the hell is Reus?
Gundogan and Hummels too pls! Although Klopp does not seem like the kind of guy who would raid his former club. One of out of the three and I would be happy. Other than that, if he can find another Lewandoski it would be amazing :D

Opposing the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre!!!!
I think you should change it to Jurgen Kop.

If they're struggling this time next year we can change it to yeargun crap. I know, it's shit.

What do we reckon the announcement is going to be about?
The club's cat has died.
I think we should all go onto RAWK and other sites containing fanatical, idiotic Liverpool fans, then find the most ridiculous claims about Klopp and post them on here. We can then all laugh about it. That would be great!
And d deny poor Jon Toddler a year's worth of posts? Give the lad a break
"Why does he elicit hard-ons in so many poeple? Is it his floppy hair? His nauseating smile? His dickhead glasses? His douchebag fashion sense?

I don't get it at all. How is there even such a thing as a 'favourite manager'? It's plain weird." - Redcafe

Cringe. That man u fan seems perturbed by klopp's appointment.

Great appointment. I think the whole world knew it was Klopp as soon as Rodgers was sacked. They obviously had their man in the pipeline as I feel the sacking was a bit trigger happy, it didn't make sense to sack him this early after sticking with him in the summer.

Klopp is going to have to bring in a fair few faces though, if he's to stick to his playing style then that backline and midfield needs buffing up. Full back areas are well suited but Liverpool are going to need a proper holding man to hold the shape in the middle.

Do Pool fans think they can actually get Reus? I'd love to see him over here and he'd be the perfect signing going forward.

Well played old bean.

To recap:
If you were Klopp would you want to go there?
Much more attractive jobs will become available to him by the Summer you'd have thought.

I think a challenge would be taking over at Arsenal and wrestling the league away from the current status quo. A challenge would be making Man City a real European contender. A challenge would be taking over at Milan and knocking Juve off top spot in a similar fashion to how he won the title with Dortmund. These are challenges. Doing something with Liverpool would require a fucking miracle.

Looking forward to seeing which Liverpool associated media pundit is the first to wheel out a good old "return to the glory days". Or will it come from inside the club again this time?

I both smirked and groaned at that comment. Total confusion.
