Big News today, a rumour was posted on OVF the other day which seemed unbelievable that Carol was about to come into mega money that would transform the club...

Shes just sold her company for £180 Million... lets hope the club benefits but explains some comments by people close on social media in recent weeks to hold of judging.

Also probably explains how we managed to get Darren Moore in.
Money is not the panacea you think. Stoke are owned by bet365 and Denise Coates is the richest woman in Britain but they are on the brink of league one football.
And let’s be honest, you will spend it on something stupid anyway and not players. She is like my son in Smyths toys. Eyes on fucking everything.

No but it helps!

Probably as I say the Campus will take most investment I would think.

These 2 point deduction punishments are a waste of time.

Should be 20 at least.
Your lot should have got that saturday -- For those bloody horrible shirts you wore.

I know it's shit and so is our home strip, maybe that's why we've been so terrible this season.

Whoever designed them needs fucking sacked.

People slate the shirt and also slated the deckchair one years ago but both made the club sh*t loads of cash and is probably only thing club got right this season.

They owners own 95% i believe (they founded it).

The guy who dropped the rumour last week about a big windfall also claimed she was going to focus fully and "go all in" on Port Vale now... hopefully the second part is correct, lets be honest even 10-20 million would transform the club.

It probably explains how we come to end up with Darren Moore out the blue and his enthusiasm despite the dire current situation, how the Campus is going to be able to happen as that will surely need millions to do it (not sure if you went Saturday but the whole green area behind the away end, plus center where away coaches park, through to Vale Park and the College the other side to become a sports campus).

Plus despite falling short we know Smith from Sheff Wed's was at Vale Park late on deadline day until they didn't get their target over the line. That would surely have cost us.

I would imagine she will want a legacy, her emotional speech Saturday shows she cares but I don't expect us to be smashing big money signings etc but to get back to League One and finally be stable and competitive would do me joking aside!
Chucking money at football usually works up to a point but our beloved neighbours are the exception having got nothing to show for a net spend of £107m in the last 5 years. They could have given everyone in Stoke on Trent £500 each and have been no worse off.
If Carol does come in to serious money, I hope she uses it to get the ground up to scratch and lets the football side look after itself. From the ground`s inception it has been a drain on resources and it seems it has been again this season.

I’d be looking at a Rotherham type stadium personally but would have to stay in Burslem.

Same with our 6 fingered friends in the City. They have Steve Lansdown's massive wealth and have only hit the play offs once and that was 2008.
Thats the difference between us and them, Steve Lansdown, and about 20M in losses each year. And they still slag him off

Let`s try and finish this one before we think about another one! It has only taken us so far 75 years, Burslem`s version of the Sagrada Familia.

While the 1st team are struggling Fleetwood Town under 17's are now in the final of the Professional Development League Cup facing Watford
A fantastic achievement and further proof of what a thriving successful academy we have
In the last 6 -8 months we have sold a young goalie Billy Hartley to Man Utd and Reis's Brown c/f to Wolves, both for significant training compensation fees
Well done Cods !

Nice to see one of our teams can do well.

Apparently we have Shevchenko’s son in our under 17s!

Now if he is quarter as good ..

Mind you presumably isn’t otherwise a big team would have picked him up .

Fingers crossed for you that he turns out to be a chip off the old block eh. I hope the final is live streamed as it will be great for both sets of supporters to watch

Finally, the Wembley of the north. Let's hope it doesn't end up being a Gaudi waste of money...

Our game at Orient postponed due to international call ups. Presumably Harris (Wales u21), Niskanen and Sinisalo (both Finland).

On a rare positive for Vale it was great to see Ollie Arblaster make his Premier League Debut last night.... all be it the second time he has made a first appearance at 6-0 down this season!

Not too sure who from us yet, but we have Khayon Edwards and Dan Adu-Adjei on loan from Arsenal and Bournemouth as well as a few other youngsters.

There goes my dream of watching my club at 3pm before getting the tube across town to watch England at Wembley on the same day.

We postponed three games early season when we were relatively competitive... played all 3 and none of the 3 internationals played in two of them as all left in January and we picked up a point.

Good chance we'd have had more points playing them at the correct time when Fleetwood and Orient were in poorer form and we didn't have such a weak squad.

They need to stop allowing clubs to use loan players as one of the three internationals, or just have a free weekend for all divisions.
I prefer the former option to avoid fixtures pile ups and have less midweek games
Reading are likely to call our game off and they cant even pay their players on time

It was barmy at the time as we were fighting in 3 cup competitions into December so we had fixture pile ups from them anyway and these added to it into February which we could of done without, we ended up playing Orient with a youth manager in charge who's never coached a senior team let alone taken charge of it!

I get why clubs want to call games off as fans would rip them to pieces if they played and lost. I just think that decision should be taken out of their hands. Most int. calls ups are loan players as every club seems to have loads of them including ourselves (we have 6!)
Takes the piss when you have league one & league two matches being called off for international breaks for players who arent even your own.

Easier said than done, I can think of 4 of our own players who play international football.

I just think the weekends should be left free.

I think next season they'll maybe leave international weekends free as a lot of games have gone this season at L1 level, all be it the new Sky TV deal may make that less likely.

At the time playing with Devine and Arblaster was unthinkable mind... since January we can see why!

Thierry Small has been an absolute revelation for us at LWB after signing in Feb as a free agent. Didn't know much about him but looking now he was Everton's youngest ever player, had Real Madrid and Spurs interested and somehow ended up in a League One relegation battle for us. Looks like he had a few games on loan at Vale last season too but generally failed to get into their team.

DC never really played him and we sent him back, he came with big expectation (due to football manager largely!) but only made a handful of apps, seemed poor but didn't really get enough game time to fully settle or judge. Left Wing Back has been a real failure of ours, he came in, Liam McCarron who played twice I think, Mal Benning ended up the regular but he wasn't good enough at L1 for us towards the end of last season.

We've never solved that position.
