remember our debate about club forums being rife with delusion, regardless of which club it was.....

Christ
Yeah that is a fair point. Not a hope in hell he drops to League 1. I saw it, chuckled and didn’t bother even replying to the thread.

Was you the Sheffield Wednesday fan who replied to it?

I note that every game next weekend has been moved, either to the Friday night, or earlier on Saturday, to avoid a conflict with the England game should they win the group.

Except Accrington.

Assuming England do win the group on Tuesday, will this really still go ahead at the same time?

I thought Andy Holt was constantly banging on about income, this would surely be catastrophic for the club?

We’ll probably play for a 1-0 win to win the group or draw and hope the other game is too .
Depending on Holland result he will probably play to lose 1-0 and go through second thus also avoiding a potential French QF!

Well done Andy Holt, should be a bumper crowd unless there are lots of closet Dutch or USA fans in Accrington.

We've brought forward KO to 2pm. As it's a local derby against Cheltenham presumably (hopefully) that won't cause any travel problems.

Seems crazy to me - England is a 7pm kickoff and the game will be done by 5pm. Cheltenham is what, 45 mins away?

Perhaps it means more staff will be able to get home for kick off too.

The pubs get very full, very early. Guess they want to ensure fans get prime pub seat for match.

Wednesday as a club have had some warranted stick over the past few years for being out of touch with the fanbase however I will give them a bit of credit for this sort of stuff.

Good to see, its what has re-connected our club since getting Carol in for the huge community work and the value of clubs especially in working class cities like Sheffield and Stoke on Trent is massive to local's, clubs are not just about kicking a pig bladder around for 90 minutes on a Saturday.

The dinner tomorrow SWFC are offering is great to see in this climate.

Our CEO, Henry Staelens has left the club. The turnover of staff here over the last year has been pretty high, to say the least. It’s more a case of who hasn’t left.

I most likely won't have to use it for single match tickets (I'm not going to the Exeter game in the League cup, and it's unlikely I'll attend any Papa Johns games) but it was very easy to use when sorting my season ticket and those of the 6 other people I go to games with (for some reason I get roped into sorting them).
Thought you was not attending any Papa Johns games....Jumping on the bandwagon now Wembley is in sight

Nothing wrong with that! Exactly what we did the other year and had a lovely day out at Wembley!
Agree, and that is exactly what this competition was made for......Everybody should relax about the premier u21 being in it lets be honest when you play them its more the u21 second string as the will be 8/9 u21 from that team out on loan.

Accrington brought.........wait for it 61 to Lincoln in the quarter final. Hard to predict how many we would bring if we get there but i doubt we would break 15k

I’ve vowed to not attend a EFL Trophy game even if we make the final one day. Might be cutting my nose off to spite my face but so be it.

And for comparison, I went to our FA Trophy win over Gosport back in the day, even went to our semi final win and a couple of the earlier rounds. The FA Trophy split our fanbase as some considered it to be below our level though I never saw it like that (as that kinda was our level at the time). But the EFL Trophy is different, it’s about the fundamentals of English football.

I used to regularly go to games in this competition back when it was the LDV Vans/JPT, but since they introduced u21 teams I vowed never to go again unless they get removed as they should never have been allowed in in the first place. Much preferred it when 12 clubs from the Conference were allowed to take part and would like that to replace Prem B teams.

Even when we got to the final back in 2018 against Lincoln, I was walking around the town centre and saw all my mates getting on the buses/trains and selling out after they also vowed to never go whilst B teams are in the competition. I stayed back in Shrewsbury that day and sat in the pub

I actively want us to lose and get knocked out of this competition in the group stages nowadays. Sad as it used to be quite fun like I say when the 12 teams from the Conference competed in it.

I boycotted initially, but I'm not afraid to say I'm a hypocrite. I went to a group game last season when a friend paid for the ticket, and I went to the Salford game the other day. This is a chance for Cheltenham to get to Wembley - that doesn't happen often (last time was 11 years ago) so a chance for my son to have his first big day out.

I get the bigger picture issue, and I don't agree with u21 teams in the competition, but here we are.

Nope

Nope

Nope

Couldn't do it, I went to the LDV in our first season at this level since the 70s back in 2003 and had some enjoyable results but since the change to the current format I don't have the slightest interest in feeding the egos of our paymasters in the PL. Fuck em

Thats the problem as soon as clubs get near to, or at Wembley, the crowds crawl back and its suddenly seen as a success

I loved the FA Trophy. Some great memories of trips to Stamford and Billericay, not so much to Grays where we got thrashed.
