Bristol is a huge place to have just one football league team
Bristol is a huge place to have just one football league team
IF (and still a pretty big if at this stage) we get promoted I think Cotterill given extra spending power wouldn't be a bad thing, look at his signings this season for example, he or whoever is currently helping him have a great eye for a player.
I'd have a great eye for a player if I had that much money. *tin hat on*
It's more a case of getting Freeman for a rumoured £750k ish, Korey Smith in a swap plus some cash, Luke Ayling in a similar deal, Wilbraham on a free. There is a difference between being able to spend money, and having an eye for getting value for money which is what has happened this year while having a net spend of around ...... 0
Not really, players to depart last summer: Stephen Pearson, Marvin Elliott, Sam Baldock, Louis Carey, Liam Fontaine, Brendan Moloney, Liam Kelly, all would have been on championship wages more than likely, the players we have signed this summer won't be so we've actually decreased our wages.Conveniently forgetting wages again........
And being able to attract them over going to the championship? It won't all be due to wages offered.Luke 'I won't play below the Champio...wait, you're offering me how much?' Ayling. Signing Freeman, Ayling and Wilbraham is not having an eye for a player, pretty much every league 1 manager was probably looking at them thinking 'I'd fucking love him'.
And being able to attract them over going to the championship? It won't all be due to wages offered.
I'd choose Rovers over BirminghamNah its not like we can offer first team football where there was a good chance of being in the championship the season after... can't be that and that Wilbraham gave an interview as that was the reason he chose us over Birmingham as well.
...cos they'd have gone to Notts offered the same deal.Aye, they all moved to Bristol for the suspension bridge, zoo and people with weird accents. Not the money.
...cos they'd have gone to Notts offered the same deal.
Is that all he must be on more than the youth team players at Ashton gateNot really relevant as we could never offer £10k a week.
Conveniently forgetting wages again........
Please do identify where I said that.Oh I'm Swindon, in the autos on a £5 budget bollocks.
Great bantzIs that all he must be on more than the youth team players at Ashton gate
It's just annoying that the same people bring it up over and over and over and over (you get the point) again. It's funny that it's even an argument to be honest, it's genuinely a fact that your players earn a lot - and it doesn't even really mean anything, no-one complains about it, they just state it and dummies get spat out all over the place.
Yeah we pay everyone of them approx £40,000 a week, not our fault Swindon Town are the league equivalent of benefits britain is it!Conveniently forgetting wages again........
