The Saddlers have taken ex Bristol City/Rovers and Cheltenham manager Jon Ward on as the new Professional development coach'.

In other words he works with the young players at the club on and off the pitch, getting them ready for the first team, helping them when things go wrong etc. Should be a decent appointment with vast experience. Ward, O'Kelly and Smith must be the 'nicest' group of cuddly men to work for anywhere in Football.

Is he? Obviously you know more about the situation than I do, but I felt he was a complete prick for the way he left Clarke to take the fall for your relegation 2 seasons ago.

It wasn't his decision, he was shifted upstairs for reasons best known to Higgs. He wasn't up to it in the end but that doesn't take away from all he did in rescuing us the year before and his general attitude to the fans. I'll always like wardy, despite his faults in our relegation season.

He was gash in L2 with us a few year back, however, he was young and may well have improved.

Rhys Turner has joined York City on a month's loan.

Think Rhys Murphy is also going out loan - possibly t Crawley.

I think we're expecing two in between now and Saturday - a ST and a player from Blackburn (hopefully Chris Taylor)

Has Turner ever got a chance with you lot? Was brilliant for us.

He hasn't really had a run of games. Think he made about 6 starts in a row towards the end of last season, but that's about as good as its been for him. I think a couple of months regular football will do him good.

Jay Fulton from Swansea on a 3 month loan. Supposed to be a very good player.

He kept tweaking a hamstring for a few months and then when he finally broke into the team he scored a couple of goals towards the end of last season. Not happened for him this season though, he seems pretty happy to get a chance at York.

Looks like we may be getting Caolan Lavery on loan from Wednesday.
We seemingly had Lavery all but signed when we were in L2 a few years ago, but couldn't afford/agree compo with Ipswich; frustrating because he seems to be an alright player and decent prospect for the future

A few of our fans feel the same but I don't understand why? he has a very good goalscoring record.

In Scotland and Holland perhaps, he came through our youth system and because of his height and build he was switched from a CM to an out and out striker. He was terrible for us at this level and the level above, no composure, poor at finishing and even his heading was questionable. He's never cut the mustard in England and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Will be interesting to see how Higdon does. Sadly he found the chippy on the corner of our ground easier than he did the goal.

That Chippy is very nice to be fair.

We've signed Joe Lolley on a one month loan deal from Huddersfield, hope he's good.

Joe Lolley is hands down one of the best players I have ever seen play. Granted that was at Conference level but he was far too good for the level and deserved the move up.

Ellis Plummer is training with us next week, if it goes well we will probably sign him on loan.

Not sure why as we need a backup striker, not a centre half, but okay then.

Doesn't sound that bad on the OS. Few weeks, a month at most by the looks of it. We'll probably get a cheap PL/Championship keeper that isn't expected to play much in. Meh, no biggie.

Sentinel said it was a serious injury earlier, probably being assessed further as we speak.

Indeed, cover for Downing though as he's been mediocre this season. Preston played at Morecambe and we lost 2-0, something Smith will have kept his eye on no doubt. Perhaps a season lon loan in the conference will do him good? Looked how it worked with Morris.

He's class. Played in the same uni team as my cousin at UCLan and absolutely tore up the league scoring about 60 goals.

Whilst he may be a different player these days, we had Plummer on loan a few years back and he was arguably the worst defender I'd ever seen.
