The Coventry Telegraph understands that the eventual fee will be significantly higher than the lowest figure of £2million that has been reported in a number of media outlets and significantly lower than the £9.5m at the other end of the speculation spectrum.

While the starting payment may be relatively modest, the nature of the deal means that City could eventually earn upwards of £6m if Maddison fulfils all of his potential and Norwich City enjoy success.

I don't even care anymore tbh.

I don't really get it. Anything £2m or over is absolutely massive for an L1 club. Stick a sell on with it and pay off some debts.

Here for the rest of the season I suppose, I still want to know what the fee is.

I doubt £2m is worth anything like the rewards of getting to the Championship with the new telly cash. Also, in our case at least, what debt?

I assume Cov won't be paying Henderson the £10k a week he was on at Orient?

Looked really overweight and slow when we played Scunny earlier this season.

Oh what the fuck are we doing signing that useless big fat lump.

Christ we started the season with all the kids with an average age of 11 and did really well ,then we cock it up signing Joe Cole and other pensioners, and the season starts to falter. Surely Mowbray could have have noticed the connection ,obviously not as he has now signed this player who has a turning speed of a type 42 frigate .
My nan is faster than this bloke and she's been dead 12 years

I'd say the connection is more losing 4 centre backs to injury leaving us with full backs and Peter Ramage.

Joejoe, Ramage and Cole have been disastrous signings haven't they, I think we all thought Cole would guarantee playoffs at least, but it's been the reverse.

I think the new centre backs are great signings short term as Ramage wouldn't get in my local pub team. So we should stop leaking goals, but Henderson looks eight months pregnant so can't be fit enough for weeks, though give him his due his scoring record is quite good.
I'm still at a bit of a loss why we've stopped bringing on the youngsters, and a little flat about Madders going next season

Used to be alright at Millwall in the level above didn't he? Got sent off against us last season and don't think he got on against us this so cant judge but seems to have gone downhill a bit.

Not taking the piss but I would think a quality keeper would have been a priority for Cov
That will possibly cost you promotion.
Earwig a lot of our fans can't understand why Mowbray hasn't brought in an experienced keeper, both ours have little experience at this level and both have major flaws in their game so we can't understand why he hasn't gone and found a decent keeper.
Both keepers are making costly simple mistakes, the currant number 1 is really good a shot stopping but when a cross comes in he makes error after error with his coming for crosses
I think you are right that a decent keeper will cost us a playoff place. Why let them learn their trade now in such an important season is beyond my understanding

Henderson's main issue with us, was he was never fit and was earning 10k a week. He missed 5 months of last season for us out injured - Including the whole of the middle part of the season and the crucial run in.

When he did play and get a run in the team, he was very useful - Scored 8 goals and set a fair few up - But that was in just 17 appearances in around 50 games the club had last season.

I see Scunthorpe had it worse than us with him, always out injured and he didn't even score a single goal.

Our owner decided when everyone game back for pre-season training last summer, to basically bin him off and release him - because we couldn't afford to keep him with us, he was earning stupid amounts of money for sitting on the treatment table.

A man very much on the decline, he is 35 this year and awfully injury prone.

To be fair last season Henderson absolutely dominated our defence when he came on against us at Orient - right pain in the arse!

Responsible for one of the most entertaining moments... Turned up at half time due to a crash on the A406, which led to Bechetti issuing a message, via the announcer, to the whole stadium along the lines of "Mr Becchetti would like to thank Darius Henderson for turning up". Classic.

Elliot Grandin signed on a short term deal until the end of the season.

He has some pedigree but has played very little football in recent times.

Henderson was responsible for a toxic dressing-room atmosphere in the last season of Jackett's reign here, if you believe our 'in-the-know' supporters. Certainly a handy player, but one who thrives on service and next to useless off the ball.
