Brown hopes to sign 3 player this week. Confirmed one is Jermaine McGlashan, the other pretty sure is Demetriou and the third I don't have a clue.
McGlashan is a bit of an enigma.
Looks very good and lively at times but more often that not seems to look dangerous without having any end product.
Good at League 2 level but pretty average at this level.
Oh, and he is 28, not too old at all.

He must be an improvement on Myles Weston???

Same style as Myles though. When it works, it really works. Not often enough though.

Contract update: Club still talking to some players, some have verbally agreed while club is expecting some to move on. #saddlers #walsallfc

Contract update: No names as yet I'm afraid. Appreciate everyone is desperate to know (as am I) but think we'll find out more tomo #saddlers

Milan Lalkovic has confirmed via Facebook officially since that he has turned down his contract and left.

Sam Mantom and Romaine Sawyers expected to follow.

Downing, Taylor, Forde and Cook should all sign but it wouldn't surprise me if Forde had a decent offer from someone in this league, Downing will sign.. whilst Cook/Taylor may be willing to drop down a level to get more first team football.

Stump up the money and he's yours. Decent enough but defo prone to a mistake. Be more than happy if he joins you and we get Kevin Long.

According to someone 'ITK' on our forum, Lee Evans is set to come back on loan with another Wolves loanee - again, 'rumoured' to be Noaha Dicko.

Hmm yeah.

Hmm yeah.

The Wolves faithful place a large portion of blame on last season's mid-table shitness due to the absense/injury of Dicko.

Suffice to say it wouldn't go down well with them if he ended up out on loan to a team in a lower division.

Yeah it seems like the Dingles main problem last season seemed to be a lack of goals down to the departure of Afobe and the injury to Dicko. Why the fuck would he then go to Bradford?

That's like us loaning Bradshaw to Plymouth.

We are after Gills keeper Stuart Nelson. I think Demetriou is having a medical today.

On first impression I'd be a bit disappointed if Nelson left, purely for his remarkable attitude. Truth is though he is prone to dropping an absolute clanger every now and then, although his shot stopping is generally pretty good. Won't see him come for a cross if he can avoid it, but he's a player with real heart and desire - like Barrett really.

Our local reporter says it still very uncertain and probably likely to stay with you but he's on holiday atm so won't hear for a few days. We have the England u20 keeper waiting for the 1 spot but he probably needs another year before he is ready.

No idea, what would he cost? Our fans are debating whether he's that good and how much MK want him, but I thought you lot rated him quite highly?

I'm hoping Adams will play a big role next season although Wilder hasn't always sounded convinced. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sold to bring in money for a couple of CB's.

Honestly not that much, but letting him go means we have one CB and he signed a new 3 year deal in November. Think £250,000-£350,000 would be fair. We don't need to sell, even if he has handed in a transfer request. We should only sell him if you give us the fee we want, not because he wants to go.

David Cornell signs for us, with Ryan Clarke heading to AFC Wimbledon. Not confirmed at either end but appeared on BBC Sport.

Felt a bit sorry for Clarke as he never got a look in, when he signed he must of expected to be number 1 but to be fair Smith was excellent last season.

No idea how good Cornell is but hopefully he will just be back up this season.

One of our fans met Clarke in Vegas a few weeks ago and he said he was signing for us. I was hoping it was untrue. Is he actually any good.

Rarely seen him play, been kept out the side by Adam Smith. To be fair, Smith made the Football League team of the season so Clarke had a tough colleague to try and displace.

Seems to suggest Smith will stay.

I know Smith's budget went up £300k last season, but until we are willing to get rid of Bonser or more of the local public put bums on seats, we are going to be struggling to keep players.

Taylor is the age now where he will take a modest wage in League 2, providing he actually gets to pay.

Cook knows he will be second best and again, will take playing more for a League 2/Scottish club.

Downing isn't worth more than a 1 year deal, he's an average league 1 defender who has an absolute mare 5-7 times per season.

It's not the players leaving so much aren't replaceable or the incoming players won't be good (lets face it Oztumer is an excellent start)..it's the squad harmony.. the fact it took Smith 3 years to build this squad player by player and it's been dis-mantled over night. You rarely see a squad overhauled followed by a good season on the pitch the following year (unless the club are bankrolled).

I remember reading that Mantom, Henry and Sawyers didn't like working under Whitney as he was far too much like a military instructor than a manager/coach..these contract renewals and the general feel about the summer so far.. make me think that issue is something than bigger just contracts and the money on the table..

Look at our best XI from last season..

Etheridge

Demetriou
Downing
O'Connor
Henry

Morris
Chambers
Mantom
Lalkovic

Sawyers
Bradshaw

How we stand now..

Etheridge

Fun times ahead.
