Spot on! The minute I read your comment I hoped it would be Luke James and happily it is!

Season-long loan with a view to a permanent, which is a great move for us I think. Highly rated not so long back and was Hartlepool's main threat when he played for them on loan at The Mem back in March. A finisher, I believe, which is something that will compliment our other strikers well.

How do Posh fans rate him?

Don't remember him doing much for Bradford last year? Maybe I'm wrong tho.

You are, he didn't play for Bradford last year. - Edit my apologies apparently he was on loan there -

Posh striker signed from Hartlepool.

Very impressed with the calibre of player we are looking at this summer. When we first returned to League 1, we were still suffering from the days of Championship debt, now we are actually sustained at this level and having had Wembley/the play-offs back to back, we are competing for a few more of the names at this level.

Cuvelier, Oztumer, Moussa would be really quite a sexual attacking 3 for a club of our stature/wage bill.

Whitney also said he is hopeful of one signing this week and a second on loan next week.

Unsure whether the one he is hopeful of signing this week is Moussa, I doubt it, so it could be a surprise!

Don't think he made much of an impact with Bradford, but he has always caught the eye in the few occasions he has played against us in League Two. The comments I've seen from Posh fans on Twitter is that he's incredibly hard working and that there is 'a player in there', which suggests he has the potential to develop in the right environment.

Any 'Boro fans able to give us a bit more of a profile?

Eh? He was on season long loan from Posh. Bradford even cut the loan short too.

I'd never be anything but spot on ;)

I like the boy. He's young and still learning but he can play. He was very low on confidence with us, the move and relocation was probably too much too soon and he didn't settle. We shipped him out last year and Bradford didn't suit him. Went back to Hartlepool and made a real impression.

I think it's a good signing. I'd like to see us persist with him but McCann has said no and he's the one in charge so...

He's got a kid on the way so he'll be looking to settle somewhere and get his career back on track. Good luck to him, I think he'll go further than Peterborough do anyway

I will never doubt you again!

This is encouraging and justifies why Gasheads are pretty pleased with him joining. Darrell Clarke has got the best out of other players who have lost their way a little over the last couple of years and I am hopeful he can do the same with James. If he does then the fact the move is with a view to a permanent could be a masterstroke on our part!

The reason some of you are struggling to remember his loan here could well be for the fact he didn't do anything. Loan cut short because of that and he was sent back out to Hartlepool. Chased everything tbf but never looked a goal threat, a L2 player.

Yeah his goal record suggests he wasn't that much of a threat for you lot.

Pleased with this one though, definitely the sort of player that DC can get back to his best. We've got a squad who have nearly all been failures at one place or another, so I'm hoping James can be the same. He'll be given game time and support here, which should hopefully help. Was really impressed with him when Hartlepool played us a few times before his move to Peterborough.

We have signed Lee Martin on a two year deal and Deji Oshilaja on a season long loan.
Delighted with Oshilaja but don't know much about Martin other he has played for Ipswich, Charlton, Millwall and Northampton among others.

Tim dieng on trial at Bradford after we decided not to take up the option on him. Outrageous decision, I could take losing kelly but releasing one of our best fuckin players???? Our owner deserves shooting

Considering his experience at a higher level I thought he would be better than he was in League 2. He lacked end product, often trying fancy stuff that didnt pay off. Think he had 0 goals and 1 assist during his time with us, was due to stay with us until the end of the season last year but was sent back to Millwall I believe as he wasnt getting minutes here. Not saying he dosnt have ability but glad hes not back at Sixfields just because for the wage I would imagine he wants you could get better.

Ipswich paid one and a half million for him.

Perhaps that's why Roy Keane got the tin tack

Yeah, Lee Martin offered very little when he was with us.

He was one of those players that arrived with a lot of promise but in the end, no-one was that bothered to see the back of him.

That is the most encouraging report of him so far.
Thanks

Exactly the same report for his time at Sixfields. Always gives you the impression something could happen, but it rarely does.

Hopefully, having read the reports from fans of Charlton, Millwall and Northampton, he may be one of these players that plays better with better players around him.;)

To be fair to Luke James I don't think he got a chance. Although if people are seeing him in training and deciding he's not worth a chance then that's worrying. I thought when he played he looked neat and tidy but like LS said he just didn't look like he was dangerous.

We've had a lot of this kind of dismissal of our signings the past couple of seasons. All of our players have been written off as past it/ untried/ bad attitude/ can't hack league football ,yet we're coming off back to back promotions. I've got every faith in DC to bring the best out of James and turn him into the player that he has threatened to become in the past.
