We'll see. I'm willing to give him a chance before I right him off and call him shit.

Agreed.

I won't write him off by any means, but for example, Southend have signed Simon Cox.

Similar sort of player. I'd much rather have signed him to be honest.

Is he the striker released from a team in our league last season? Barnsley?

Rumours we are in for a Peterborough player. Don't see it myself, also no idea who it could be as I only know two posh players. Maddison and Taylor, don't actually know anyone else. Any ideas posh fans?

Can't see why Maddison or Taylor would 1) want to move to you or 2) why we'd accept a bid from you for them.

It'll be Payne or Beautyman, I would imagine.

From what I know of Jackson, crap signing for Walsall.

Walsall over the last few years have been a team with a reputation of good build up and mostly played with one upfront. Jackson definitely doesn't suit the Walsall system of the last few years, his overall game is non existent. Not particularly fast or skilful and can't play with his back to goal to save his life.

He's a poacher, If you want to get the best out of him you will have to go 442 with a battering ram alongside him, two out and out wingers and fast, direct football. And even then you are relying on him recapturing form of 5/6 years ago.

Two year deal seems overly risky.

Our player of the season from last season Anthony Grant is supposed to have handed in a transfer request, apparently not happy with all the arrivals this summer. If him and Sam Foley both leave we really will be relying on the summer imports gelling together quickly, I won't be holding my breath on that.

At 29 Foley doesn't exactly fit the Power model. I'd be surprised if there's any truth in it.

Bolton in for Andrew Davies, PP getting the lads in as expected. He's loved round here but we've already got our centre halves sorted and he's not getting any younger. He'll win every header, throw himself at everything, has no issues with putting his head where it hurts but he will get done by pace and miss at least a third of the season out injured.

Better be a good fee for Foley or ill be disappointed, no need to sell as with Grant.

Any good?

Engine on him, decent ball player. Would be a loss, maybe feels with Tavares coming in he won't feature. Anything less than a decent fee to a side on a par with us would be bad business for the club.

Cheers, maybe some truth in it if he's a ball playing midfielder then. Don't expect a lot out of Power though! Be surprised if we went into three figures for a 29 year old.

Was at Yeovil for years before us so could be wanting a move back to the area. Smurf has not confirmed or denied it on Twitter.

Great. We'll have 12 midfielders and 1 and half strikers.

Both players are going into the last year of their contract so we won't get a big fee for them. Perhaps Smurf is happy to sell them to balance the books after our foreign signing purge.

Will make a statement if required regarding Foley, denied Grant has handed in a request but if approached would command a fee reflective of being the best player at the club.

I am very happy with Simon Cox. Imagine we are paying him a fair chunk more than you're paying Jackson but rightfully so imo. Cox is still under 30 and has 30 international caps. Has the potential to be very good next season

I'd take him back if we hadn't signed NKP. He never really had much pace but made up for it with his aerial ability and reading of the game. Would be a steady signing for this league especially if Bolton are scrabbling round for signings with their embargoes. It's just his injuries that are the issue.

Vitoria Oatcake starting to unravel?

Rather have Grant than a semi-random portugoose....

Depends if Grant has or as not handed one in. Grant and Tavares would make an excellent midfield partnership in theory but then also rumours of the Moroccan lad coming in who if is the case would be expecting to start. I'd be disappointed if we lose Granty though easily one of the best at this level at what he does.

In terms of style, Jackson is very similar to Bradshaw, so should suit the way you play. In answer to the Cov fan above, he was best for us playing up front on his own with a couple of proper wingers either side - no need for a 'battering ram' alongside him at all. He scored so many one-touch finishes for us playing off the last man, so as long as you have good midfield ball players he should get opportunities. No-one has really given him a fair crack of the whip since he left us, but he'll do alright there I reckon. Give him a chance!

Jackson wasn't that bad for us, but he also didn't contribute anything particularly worthwhile. Looked unfit for us ( a few years ago now)

We have signed Rob Hall on a free. Was with Bolton, and had a loan spell with MK Dons. We also had him on loan from West Ham a few seasons ago, and he was fantastic for us. He's currently injured having done his knee in,but confident, we will see him in the Autumn.

I personally think its a good signing time will tell.

Ah, I misread. My bad.

I like Beautyman. Bundle of energy, and a decent player for League One. Really big character away from the field as well.

Payne was excellent for us in the Championship but has fallen well out of favour. Was on loan at Orient last year and already turned down three clubs, one being Plymouth who matched exactly what he's on here, so no idea what he's after.

Treated by our medical staff all summer, verbally agreed to sign and then leaves to you lot. What a dickhead move. I like hall, really good in league one. Not cool for him to string us along.

He'll still be out until about Christmas but when he gets for he'll be a good player.

Well, he's going to a proper club now on the up, not one on the slide, and one where he has played before, and enjoyed it.
