Any talent to justify that kind of an attitude or just an over-paid young lad with pound signs in his eyes?.

There was talent there for sure, but talent that was unproven above reserve team football whilst he was with us.

Burnley took a punt on him, as many of the big clubs now do just hoovering up young prospects on the chance they'll hit gold with one of them every now and then. He spent last season out on loan at Altrincham so League 1 is a big step up for him.

A couple of you tube clips of the lad.

Seems we have bid between £150-£250k for this Makris. Nothing official on our end, but they have practically confirmed the transfer/departure of him to us.

Club record fee..:eyes::£

E&S now saying £300k...

:eyes::eyes::eyes:
I'm amazed that we have broken our 37 year old transfer record..
No doubt our fans will be expecting him to be as good as Messi

A 20 year old right winger or striker apparently.
The deal is subject to a medical tomorrow.
I'm assuming it's our owner that will be having the medical, he must be at risk of some sort of breakdown after spending all that money..

Well at least give some reasoning as to why you think it is a 'stupid comment'
I thought it was obvious, you'd rather go down than stay up, and risk getting stuck there for years on end or even worse relegation to the conference the following season. I would advise against that!

We have had a similar experience with Ramon Diaz at Oxford.

He didn't say he'd rather we go down but was suggesting rather than play it safe and end up mid table try something different and see what happens

Wrong, I quoted and highlighted what he said in the previous post.

We wouldn't let McFadzean go to a league rival for less than £500k and reeves is a lot more valuable to us, £750k plus at a bare minimum I'd say

It doesn't work like that though. Kyle had two years on his deal, Reeves just has the one.

Anything above £250K would have to be seriously considered if he isn't prepared to commit to a new deal at s:mk. He'll be over 24 by the time his current contract expires so we wouldn't even get any compensation for him too. That's a factor, also.

I still can't see it (as I know we're trying to tie down all the key assets to longer deals) and letting Reeves go doesn't fit with that.

Scunnys chairman has come out denying that they're selling Paddy Madden to City this morning.

If we let him go there is something seriously wrong at the club.

Kelvin Wilson is now set to go to Rotherham despite us being close to signing him early last week.

Mark Venus:

Wilson and McCann hopefully will be signed. Wilsons injury record is a gamble but one Mowbray feels is worth taking. McCann loan is not ideal but better to have a few month so him than none at all and if he was available for a year or permanent its unlikely we would get such a quality player due to competition from other clubs

I haven't seen this anywhere myself but I know that his son, who is a director at the club, has repeatedly said on Twitter he's not leaving.

I really doubt Bradford would be willing to pay what we want for Madden anyway.

BREAKING: Jon Whitney confirms Markis is at the club today to undergo a medical and discuss potential move #saddlers #walsallfc

Markis is a player who Whitney has been watching for a while & has also come highly recommended by Jason Demetriou #saddlers #walsallfc

If he's as good in his position as Demetriou was, he should be worth every penny..

BREAKING: Andreas Makris IS at Bescot today for #saddlers medical & contract talks. Deal not done yet but boss Whitney hopeful of concluding

There will be a fee but JW was unable to confirm what that will be. too early to say if reports of transfer record being broken are correct

Nile Ranger deal extended for the season. He made the cut despite getting a groin injury which kept him out of the past three friendlies but Brown states the injury has probably come through him putting himself out in pre-season and he has been working hard. Sounds good so far, will he keep it up once fit.

I'm hopeful, surely 2 seasons without playing has knocked some sense into him. We can only judge on what he's done here so far and it's all been good.

The craziest thing about this post is that SamScfc is actually being serious :lol::lol::lol:
He seems to have an axe to grind with a few teams in league one. It was only a few weeks ago he was saying that Oldham are a meaningless club and the mighty Stockport of the conference North offer more excitement whilst playing part time bricklayers and milkmen.

It would be a minor miracle if this bloke was able to actually settle down and try and carve out a decent career. Unfortunately I think the fact that he is clearly a complete and utter nob will always stop this from happening

A little bit of me feels sorry for him

Following Walsall's trend we have bid actual money for an attacking midfielder who scored 'fairly frequently' in League one last season... should hear something back this week we are told. I hate this guessing game rubbish. Who could it be, hopefully its Dack hahaha

Could be Michael Doughty. Scored a few at Swindon last year and Hasselbaink recently stating that his future probably isn't at QPR. Seems viable

It was on Radio Leeds this morning.

Agree though; can't see us stumping anything like what would be required to prise him away.

Nile Ranger is a genuinely brilliant striker at this level, and when you watch him play you wonder if it's the same bloke who's been in trouble all his life. Never seen anyone get kicked and climbed over as much as he was and not once did he react.

You just hope Nile Ranger the person will allow him to focus purely on what he's good at, which is obviously hugely doubtful.

Echo that. Unfortunately, I can't see him changing now. He'll be fine for a while then, especially being so close to London, he'll get dragged back into his 'gangsta' lifestyle.

Loza and Santos deals now look like they may fall through as the chairman wants to buy a proven scorer according to the press officer at Vale/Smurfs twitter.
