Simpson is a weird one. Clearly has ability but so inconsistent - would take a decent fee to prize him away too you'd have thought.

Gills making good signings.

The simple fact of the matter is, if Jim Gannon was as good as this deluded SCFC fan thinks surely he would be managing at a higher level than the National League North with a semi-pro club?

What is this badmouthing of Jim Gannon?!

The lower league fans warned me about the L1 forum, and these sort of wayward opinions.

Your club have never experienced the Jim Gannon effect have they?

You still lacking that much quality or are you thinking more squad players?
We have 3 strikers: Maynard, Church and Hitchcock. But Church and Hitchcock haven't been given numbers and clearly aren't in Robbos plans so we need two strikers to replace them.

We also have a lot of injuries to our wingers and don't have enough as Robbo likes to rotate them basically every game so probably need 2/3.

Need another CAM because as good as Reeves is he is made of glass, got injured in pre-season and Aneke is out until November. We could play Rasulo but we probably need a experienced player. 5/6 more signings needed for me.

Have I been a bit overly optimistic to tell people in the office to back your lot this weekend then?

My theory is if he's sunk to playing for us it might be the kick up the bum he needs to reignite his career.

Great signing.

Do you think that means Dack's off?

Probably. But he's been probably off since May.

We're selling another forward (Norris) so we needed another one in. If we can get Dack and JET in the same side and linking up then that could be a very entertaining pairing.

Maybe, but I don't think Shrewsbury are up to much personally and we really should be beating them regardless I think.

Lose Lee Martin, sign JET. That's not a bad trade-off. Not a bad trade-off even if you do lose Dack, tbf.

There's clearly a player there, especially how he played at Bristol City. If you get him going you've got a good player on your hands, if not he'll be a player your fans hate.

Very greedy, barely moves, tries long distance shots a lot.

Good luck.

Nope, our midfield looks very strong even without Martin and Morris who are both out for the season.

Bradley Dack
JET
Scott Wagstaff
Billy Knott
Mark Byrne
Josh Wright
Jake Hessenthaler
Emmanuel Osadebe

Should Dack leave then we'd have money in the bank plus a decent array of midfielders to (try) and replace him.

Sounds like how our fans view Luke Norris.

Sarcasm my good man, we came across the bloke many a time! Still surprised he ended up in Conference North though. You'd have thought he could have had a career as a Conference manager.

We definitely have!

Gannon went absolutely mad when a game between us and Stockport was postponed back in early 2007. It had rained fairly heavily over lunchtime but probably not enough for the pitch to be waterlogged. It later transpired that the pitch had been 'watered' prior to the downfall, and it's widely accepted that we deliberately didn't try to get the game on to give our players more preparation time for the JPT Area Final second leg against Bristol City a few days later.

With that in mind I can understand why Gannon was annoyed because County were in blistering form at the time and they'd travelled down and then had to travel straight back, but he had always come across as a whiny little girl so nobody had any sympathy. He moaned about the situation to the press and implied that our club was an absolute disgrace, so Gasheads turned on him from that point on.

As it turned out we beat City 1-0 to progress to the final at the Millennium Stadium (God bless Rickie Lambert!) and we pipped his Stockport side to a play-off spot on the final day and ultimately got promoted at Wembley. The funny thing about that final day was that they had to better our result to make the top seven - they won 6-0 at Darlington IIRC and we were only drawing away at Hartlepool... until Lambert scored a really late winner for us, rendering their best result of the season absolutely pointless! Must have been a horrendous trip home after thinking you would end up in the play-offs...

I read on Twitter recently that some Rovers fans got hold of his mobile number at the time and sent him numerous photos of our celebrations at Wembley, just to rub salt into the wounds.

Hi Mr Teeth. Please explain why.

Did you see our team in league one? We were challenging for the play offs and would have only got better. That is not an opinion. That is a fact.

He is one of the highest qualified managers outside the prem, again, a fact, not an opinion.

And hence these qualifications, he would be managing in league one,

Thanks for your time.

Just because you can't face facts you lower yourself to abuse.

Viva Jim Gannon.
Me thinks you need to take that scarf your farther wore and wrap it firmly around your mouth.

I remember the day of the postponement well.

Went down to Edgar Street to watch Dale, and a coach load of very disgruntled County fans turned up! Presumably the idea was "we've come this far, we might as well take in a game". And Adam Le Fondre was on loan to Dale from County at the time, so they could see at least one of their players, albeit in the wrong shirt.

The game ended 0-0....

Isaiah Osbourne signs a 1 year deal.

Happy with that, clearly a good player but can't keep himself fit. Missed the entire of last season, but has come back at the beginning of pre-season, got himself fit and put in a couple of dominant pre-season performances.

Chambers and Osbourne should be a good pair if we need to shut up shop or be a little more combative, something Mantom was clueless on offering.

Our midfield looks pretty good IMO, better than last year, especially if Cuvelier and Moussa stay fit/click.
