Wilson to Vale
James Wilson of Man Utd to Vale, it's not what you know, it's who you know.

Would be purely down to Jose helping his mate out. Expect it will be one of the other youngsters they have to be honest.
I think Wilson will have a say in the deal too.

All due respect to Vale, but if a bloke of Wilson's reputation and experience (striker at clubs pushing for promotion to the Premier League) drops down to ANY club in L1 you have to question...why.

Even a big team like Oxford?

Utd coaching staff "James had a good season last term in the Championship, it really helped develop him as a player, maybe another season at that level would help even more?"

Jose "Yeah but I know a guy in L1, send him to him, Fleetwood away on a wet Tuesday night? Low home support to cheer him on? What could be better?"

Won't be Wilson... To be fair the guy 'in the know' on OVF said we are to sign a very talented striker from Man United.

Of course it won't be James Wilson but as soon as a link to Man Utd was created via our new manager there was always going to be a rumour of him coming to is because he is from Stoke originally.

If we do end up with any Man Utd players they will more than likely come from their U18 side than their reserve side

A good move for both parties I feel as he never really looked happy here as he had become something of a target for the boo boys.
He gets a fresh start and we get £150k for someone who was only ever going to be a bit part player for us this year.
Will help finance the JET deal and probably a centre back as well.

Insane amount of money to be throwing around at this level. Or not, I don't even know anymore.

When was the last time a League One club threw that sort of money at a single player? I remember Southampton signed Lambert for about a million a few years back, but can't think of any bids coming close to that since.

Despite the money being splashed around in the Championship I still think million pound + deals in this league are crazy. It's not like the majority of teams are selling stadiums out each week and nor is there any decent prize money available

Sheff United signed John Brayford for like £1.5M two seasons ago. Britt Assombalonga also cost over a £1M when he signed for Peterborough.

Assombalonga seems kind of reasonable considering they'd just sold Gayle for £6m. Didn't they sell him on a year later to Forest for 8x that figure? Decent business!

The Brayford transfer was madness, though. All that money for a fucking fullback. No wonder they've been such a mess.

Assombalonga cost us £1.5m but as you said, that was off the back of the Gayle deal. We've made £7m altogether off of Assombalonga so far.

Can only assume we've kept a bit of the Conor Washington money behind or Gayle's sell-on was more than MacAnthony lets on.

We're signing Lewis Page on loan from West Ham for the season next week. Smashing as our current left back is shit.

Joshua Pask apparently going to gills from West Ham also.

As far as I'm aware Jay Simpson signed for Southend yesterday and he will be unveiled next week. He was at Roots Hall yesterday.

Annoyed he has gone as he was far far too good for League Two and there is no way we can get better than him, on his day when he is running at defenders he is as good as any forward player in the football league.

He got 25 goals last season, but they dried up after January when we changed manager, changed style and our owner decided to start being an even bigger c*** than usual.

My only criticism of him is that he can be quite greedy and he does miss his fair share of chances as well, at times last season he had up to three men marking him in League Two. I think he will get around 15 goals for Southend, he did well for us when we wa last in League One, but he kept getting injured that season.

We've signed Joe Thompson, released by Carlisle at the end of last season, on a six month deal.

He's a local lad and a lovely bloke but was never a confirmed regular for us in his previous spell, and hasn't done that much since (though being out for a year having treatment for cancer won't have helped). And he's a winger/midfielder, of which we already have a squadful...

We're about to announce the signing of Jack McBean on loan from LA Galaxy. He was at the Swindon game with some other squad players apparently. Scored 15 in 17 for their reserves so I'm sure he'll piss this tinpot league.

I know a few of your lot are in wrist-slashing mode after Saturday, but I thought you weren't bad at all. It is difficult for opposition fans to have a decent perspective of the other team but a couple of decent signings and you'll do OK

Now Adams deal is complete we're expected to bring in a season long loan and permanent before Saturday. Diego Poyet mentioned as the loanee, don't know much about him, Charlton fans? Assume he'd be competition for Basham though which is needed but means our interest in Morsy will have ended.

No rumours re the permanent but I'm hoping it's a left winger and ideally with some pace, definitely our weakest position at the moment.

Yeah our forum was pretty horrific. People saying we're going down, saying Mowbray picks his favourites which is why Tudgay didn't come on (even though Tudgay signed a new deal this year). Page and McBean will strengthen us no end anyway.

Depends which one you get.

If you get the pre-West Ham Poyet then you'll have one hell of a player, he had almost everything for us in his first season. Good touch, good passer of the ball, ball winner, broke the play up well and rightly won player of the season, I said at the time I felt he was possibly the best player I've seen us bring through the academy into the first team since Scott Parker.

He went to Huddersfield on loan and didn't impress and then came back to us on loan and was pretty medicocre in his limited playing time. No idea what West Ham have done to him.

I would guess he would be very good down here though, much better than a League One player.

We have just taken Lewin Nyatanga on a season long loan from Barnsley. Funnily enough we our next game is away at Barnsley tomorrow. Not seen him play before but recognise the name.

I liked him when we had him on loan last season in the championship, we got rid of him as he was to similar to Darren Potter. Definitely a good player though, if we didn't have potter I'd love him back.
