Town are reportedly expected to sign two more in the next 24 hours, probably forward players.

Morsy supposedly having a medical tomorrow. Lee Grant and Caolan Lavery also rumoured.

Don't know much about Lavery but would've thought Grant would be out of our range, or has he suddenly become a bad keeper?

Grant is a quality keeper expect he'll be a top performer in League One, Lavery will score goals in League One so hope you don't get him.

Because running a football club is really, really expensive and even signing footballers on free transfers costs money. Five years of that shit. That money is long gone.

You wouldn't mind popping on Concrete Roundabout and telling our lot would you? :2thumb:

Rumours going round that Sheff United have outbid us for Morsy and bid around 550K, don't know how true it is.

but would've thought Grant would be out of our range, or has he suddenly become a bad keeper?

He'll be on good money as Derbys back up keeper however he failed to make a single first team appearance last season.

He's now 33 and must be desperate to get some first team football before his career ends.

A loan move to a club where he's almost gauranteed a starting place in a location near to his home makes a lot of sense.

On the Championship threads a Derby fan says Grant has recently turned down Bristol City and he understands that he's joining us.
We'll see but the local media here were saying yesterday they expect some new players at SUFC immenently.

What's interesting though is Wilder was interviewed on Tuesday night and he confirmed that he's never made any enquiries about Morsy throwing cold water on the rumours but many of our fans think he's speaking with forked tongue as it will have been someone else at the club making enquiries ha ha. We'll see later today.

Interest in Lavery confirmed by Staton. What kind of player is he, can he play on the wing? Fast?

Don't really think we need another striker but desperately need a wide player.

Gillingham to announce a new signing today. Midfielder on a free transfer after he was released in the summer.

Played in the Championship last season.

I would assume this is to compensate for the imminent loss of Dack, as we have an abundance of centre miss as it is

I would think JED would want a left winger, with Martin out for the season.

You are probably right but I still cling on to a little hope that it may be to cover for the three midfielders (Morris, Wagstaff & Martin) we have lost to injury with two of them being out for the season.

He was good for us on loan last season whilst our normal RB was out injured. For a young full back he was good defensively instead of just flying up the wing all the time.

Strange thing is, we already have decent a young player in that position- Brad Barry. Be a shame if one of our own is ousted by a loanee.

Maybe Furlong can play in another position

Jamie O'Hara. Bloody hell! That's a great signing isn't it?

Yes mate he can play anywhere across the forward line but I feel his best position is a striker it's where he looks most dangerous, has pace and can beat a man as well as being a good finisher. Injuries really ruined his chances with us as when he finally came back from a long term injury we'd been taken over and started buying better. Be a good signing for you.

Gills sign Jamie O'Hara.

Could be a good signing, he must be on some wages though?

Wagstaff, O'Hara, Konchesky and JET, wonder where we've found this money from?

Don't know what wages he will be on but we are not renowned for being big payers..
He was out of contract and he lives locally (his family are season ticket holders) so that may well have had some bearing on his decision.
Fully expect Dack to go in the ext few days now.

2 year deal for a bloke who was once on around 40k a week....

Maybe the Dubai investment strategy is starting to take effect....

Maybe. Risky if that's the case though seeing as he's just got injured.

Scally has definitely unearthed a pot of gold from somewhere though, our signings this year blow more or less every window I can remember out of the water.

Can't believe some of the signings we've made this summer, definitely sending out a statement of intent.
Hopefully dack stays also

I can still see Dacky staying beyond the window, especially given his injury.
