Konchesky? O'hara? Haha are we playing FM 2010? I fully expect Anton Ferdinand to be the next defensive signing now.

We have received around £120-150k for Norris and we should receive around £4-500k for Egan.
We have also released Loft, who was probably our highest earner.
This still doesn't seem to be enough to cover the signings we have made though, so I am just trying to talk myself into believing that we are not spending the Dack money.

Likewise, Ferdinand has been linked for a while now, wouldn't be surprised at all.

It's all a bit weird us signing players I've actually heard of.

Jamie O'Hara. Bloody hell! That's a great signing isn't it?
A few years ago, definitely. His head's gone, though, hasn't it? Never was that interested in football to begin with and now needs to stay in work to pay off debts.

He played 39 games for Fulham in the Championship last season so his head can't have gone far.

And he was released after only a season and has only found a club two weeks into the new campaign despite being a free agent. JET, Wagstaff, et al, good signings: this ain't IMO.

Don't know what wages he will be on but we are not renowned for being big payers..
He was out of contract and he lives locally (his family are season ticket holders) so that may well have had some bearing on his decision.
Fully expect Dack to go in the ext few days now.

Fair enough.

Strikes me as one of those signings that could go either way, he's obviously been a good player in the past but not sure he can rekindle that.

Bold move from the Gills anyway.

Gills official twitter has just started following Tom Hitchcock, which is pretty much a confirmed signing these days.

He'll be on good money as Derbys back up keeper however he failed to make a single first team appearance last season.

He's now 33 and must be desperate to get some first team football before his career ends.

A loan move to a club where he's almost gauranteed a starting place in a location near to his home makes a lot of sense.

On the Championship threads a Derby fan says Grant has recently turned down Bristol City and he understands that he's joining us.
We'll see but the local media here were saying yesterday they expect some new players at SUFC immenently.

What's interesting though is Wilder was interviewed on Tuesday night and he confirmed that he's never made any enquiries about Morsy throwing cold water on the rumours but many of our fans think he's speaking with forked tongue as it will have been someone else at the club making enquiries ha ha. We'll see later today.
:ffs:

Don't believe everything you read.

Also, he played on more than one occasion last season. PNE away and SW at home off the top of my head.

Fair enough, the game is all about opinions.
Only time will tell I suppose.

Totally understand, as I said in anther thread only time will tell.
He is only 29 though so it's not as if he is way past it.

Sheff Utd have just signed Boro's highly rated 18 year old winger Harry Chapman on a loan deal to the end of the season.

It's the same player that was at Barnsley on loan from March last season.

Anyone know much about him?

Alex Jones from Birmingham on loan until January. The fact that he is a striker is just about all I know of him

Seems to be a highly rated youngster but still a bit of a gamble and may as well play Turner (although Defoe and Armstrong for eg show it can turn out well)

It may turn out to be a great move but he's not quite the proven L1 goalscorer our barmy chairman was talking of

He that proven league one striker Smurf was on about?

Or did he say that whilst he was off his bin on glue?

I like how you reference a sixteen-year-old example in support of your case. Your plucky optimism in a nutshell.

"Remember once, Preston North End went an entire season unbeaten. Believe!"

Wouldn't surprise me, typical Coventry man ;)

Smurf said we are looking at bringing in an experienced league one striker along with another on loan a winger and left back so may still be on the cards!

First examples that come to my head to be fair but a gamble. Who knows Hooper I think if used right could be a huge hit for us but needs to play him!

Vale are set to announce the signing of Miguel Santos on loan this week.

He is a reserve keeper from Benfica and has been training with us for 2 weeks, he played in the last friendly game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Apparently we are now just waiting for international clearance and he could be in the squad in time for Tuesday's game against Rochdale.

Good luck with that. We pretty much signed him on the strength of that hat-trick he scored at Priestfield. I hope you've done your research...

A handful of our fans whinged that he never got a proper chance with us (we signed him and then bought in Grigg & Afobe within a couple of weeks) but he never looked as though he was going to challenge for a first team spot even when they had departed either as a striker or in the no' 10 role, which I feel is his natural position. Clearly has some ability on the ball, but lacked the work rate and, going by his "lifestyle tweets", the application to make it.
