Whitney looking to bring another defender in. Probably a left sided player, bit like Andy Taylor. Someone who is a left back but can help out by playing left sided centre half too if needed, especially with Henry going off with a dislocated shoulder yesterday.

I see Coventry have signed Jordan Turnbull, who we've had on loan for the past 2 seasons.

Divided opinion from those who wanted him back and those who thought he was a liability at the back.

Buying ex-Swindon defenders shouldn't instil confidence, though.

On our forum. Not sure where they got it from, though.

Swindon fans seem to reckon we're signing Jordan Turnball from Southampton

Good luck with that. We pretty much signed him on the strength of that hat-trick he scored at Priestfield. I hope you've done your research...

A handful of our fans whinged that he never got a proper chance with us (we signed him and then bought in Grigg & Afobe within a couple of weeks) but he never looked as though he was going to challenge for a first team spot even when they had departed either as a striker or in the no' 10 role, which I feel is his natural position. Clearly has some ability on the ball, but lacked the work rate and, going by his "lifestyle tweets", the application to make it.

We already have 4 other forwards, so he wouldn't be a first choice anyway. If he's not up to it then he won't last long.

Two Stokies have joined Town on loan until January.

Ex Barcelona youth winger Mohammed El Ouoriachi and big centre forward George Waring. The latter, like Ivan Toney, having the obligatory Barnsley connection.

Hopefully both will be very effective but I was hoping for at least one permanent proven striker to be signed.

From Robinson today:

“Kieran Agard came in for the price of Kyle McFadzean. It is really clever business by the chairman and recruitment team in relation to balancing books. This is the most money I’ve ever had as a budget. It’s still a top six budget. But it’s not about that now, it’s about whether we can get the most value on the pitch. All of our money is in 16 players."

Probably an exact replacement for McFadzean in everything money wise. We lost a lot of players and high earners last season so have a lot of money left over, so wages like that wouldn't be a problem.

Important to note just how far away Bristol City fans were, saying they got £1.2 million for him.

That was far fetched, no-one who knows your financial situation expected that price. Like I said to you when the rumour first came about, I thought he'd go for about £200k, so anything above that price I'm happy with. Makes no odds to us anyway.

You did to be fair, repeatedly. It was a little worrying though when all these city fans were going mental saying they got so much money.

I'm very glad he was relatively cheap, just a few more wingers now and we're sorted.

I'd still like another centre back, the 3 we've got are good but I'm not comfortable going into the main part of the season with one replacement and the under 18's

Carlos Saliero has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent. Didn't arrive fit and seems to have been homesick so best for all parties I guess.

Vincent Rabiega, a 21 year old Polish striker, a development squad sort of player (if we had one)

Whilst I always like to be optimistic about player development, Waring shouldn't be near a L1 squad.

Kelle Roos, who we had on loan from Derby at the end of last season, has changed his Twitter profile pic to one with our kit on. So that's obviously a cast iron certainty we're getting him back, either on loan or permanently. Personally don't think it's an exaggeration to say he got us promoted last season when we suddenly became very hard to score against. Our defence has been all over the place this year playing in front of a keeper (Ryan Clarke) who has dropped a couple of clangers and they don't seem to have much confidence in. Might be very unfair on Clarke who needs time to settle in, but I'd take Roos instead in the blink of an eye. Can't see it happening if Derby let Grant go though.

Every time I saw Roos play I was impressed so will be a good addition to you
