Miguel Santos signed from Benfica... Was there reserves number 1 and been with us for a few weeks now.

Another signing in the next twenty minutes which should be the winger!

We have signed Marvin Johnson, seems like he could well be a super signing, should at least add some pace and directness, which we have really lacked so far

Bad points on Marvelous Marvin. He can have a bad attitude and needs to get his head down and focus.

Also needs a new agent. He whispers in his ear too much and tries to force moves that don't exist.

Good points, very pacy and loves to run at defenders. And his pace will normally allow him to get past them with ease.
Has a great shot and will score goals though when he was with us he needed to look up more.

Town have signed Fulham defender Jack Grimmer on a season long loan and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake on a six month loan.

Jack Grimmer signed on loan again from Fulham, not much of a surprise with it being his third spell now I think, brilliant going forward but debatable defensively, definitely improves our team though.

Ebanks-Blake also joins out of the blue, we've been crying out for an experienced centre forward all summer, 10 in 33 for Chesterfield last season in this division so I'm reasonably happy that will also improve our current team, so all in all, no world beaters but we've improved upon what we already had.

Grimmer is a very bizarre signing.

Mellon invested in Joe Riley in the summer, spending a transfer fee to bring him to the club, and we already have more than adequate cover for his position in Ogogo. Disappointed that another centre back wasn't recruited where we are definitely lacking.

Ebanks-Blake I'm happy with, much needed experience up front.

Apparently we had agreed a fee for cox and personal terms then he pulled out last minute.

How come Ebanks-Blake has been shipped out? I thought he was highly thought of at Chesterfield?

Jonathon Margetts signed from Lincoln. A strange one as we already have 4 strikers and we rejected him after a trial a year ago.

Gezim Shalaj signs, Swiss winger who's played in the top flight there for Lucern and Lugano, as well as two top flight teams in Romania including Dinamo Bucharest.

Interesting one! No idea how he will do.

We've signed attacking full back Cameron Dummigan from Burnley on a two year deal for a fee.

It's been a good while since I've been this impressed with a signing, he was really good for us on loan last season in what was his first taste of senior football aged only 19, so to get him permanently is a great little surprise.

All in all, Steve Robinson and his team have done a fantastic job of getting a squad together from scratch in a short space of time. Shouldn't go down now, looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season has in store.

But of course there's no risk involved in all these foreign signings...

I don't think its as surprising as a lot of people are making out. Every position needs competition and although Ogogo can play there Riley is still technically the only RB in the squad.

I'd have Grimmer in the side over Riley from what I've seen so far but I wouldn't be dissapointed with either.

The signings of Waring from Stoke seems more of a strange one to me, don't see when he will play, if he's just going to be back up I'd prefer Ethan Jones take up that role.

So far it has worked and we look far better than last year man for man... But with a 33 man squad any that aren't ready won't feature (apart from the Checkatrade)

Need a pacey winger and got one... Keeper signing is odd though considering he's highly rated yet have Alnwick!

As seems to have been the case with 95% of Vales signings all we have to go off are Youtube clips and Wikipedia. Needed a winger though and now we have one, hopefully it works out.

Am surprised we haven't tried to move at least a couple out on loan given the size of the squad. Could have done worse than offer Torquay some on loan after they did a great job developing Nathan Smith last year. Could have been good for both parties.

Remember Grimmer on loan at Vale and he impressed so that's a decent signing for Shrewsbury I think.

MK Dons have signed two of our brightest young prospects in Ryan Colclough and Jack Hendry on loan. We've paid good money for both and we hope they will become first team regulars for us or at least net us a good profit in transfer fees. Karl Robinson has s great reputation with loanees and I hope he works his magic with these two. Colclough especially should rip it up down there.

You can try again at the end of the season, when he will leave here for nothing.

He is on a big wage here and our owner is keen to lower the wage bill we have, he is on around £5k per week here which is too much for a club of our size in League Two, let alone one.

I'll be amazed if he is still here come next May.

Thought we'd loan some out but the big one is keeping Grant and Smith!

Chuffed to bits with dummigan. He looked a class above and even Burnley fans thought he could get a shot at the first team this year.

That's encouraging

Wasn't good enough for us in one of our worst ever teams. Then improved slightly at Torquay but he is nowhere near good enough for League 1. I expected him to go out on loan to a conference team again.

Hope Fleetwood give our young striker a chance - certainly has a an eye for goal.

As for Sean Murray - very talented midfielder but does like the night life - what is that like in Swindon?
Shit in a good way if that makes any sense. You know it's going to be full of bellends and there's limited options but I've always managed to come home suitably drunk at a ridiculous hour.

If not the lad shouldn't worry, Bristol's only 40 minutes down the road and London an hour and a half!

Hopefully Murray will have been given a wake up call having dropped down to League 1. I've read a lot of good things about his ability so hopefully he can get back on track with us.
