Yeah about 5 years ago. Was useful at the time, but that was League Two.

Kieran Richardson coming in on trial - that's a guess. Brown says an agent has asked him to look at someone 'LB, who has played in CL and International football'

What's actually happened with Chris Herd because we had him on loan from Villa when we was probably 19 or so, and looked a class above. I can remember Chesterfield fans raving about him after a couple of performances against them.

Anthony Gerrard back training with us again.

Him & Peter Clarke at CB with a couple of pacey full backs either side could be quite a back 4 for this level.

We've signed a young (17) forward called David Owusu, as "one for the future". According to our website, was previously with Merstham, and impressed in a trial.

Related to Lloyd?
Don't know.

Having googled Lloyd, he was.from Slough, whereas young David appears to be from Croydon, so probably not - and Owusu is quite a common Ashanti name (according to Wikipedia)

Smurf has tweeted he's not happy with current form so going to open the famous sweetie jar now again...

Got to be a free agent then? Odemwinge maybe? (Although linked with Bolton) or backed down on Andoh?

We have an unnamed triallist training with us. He scored 2 in a behind closed doors friendly. Rumoured to be Hitchcock or Zamora.

The gaffer has said we'll make a decision by the weekend.

He signed Martin Paterson as the proven goalscorer we needed, what makes you think we'd ever sign Odemwingie?!

Is he a right back? Bruno see's Purkiss as a weak link clearly.

At 32, seems a good signing at this level. Had injury concerns and hasn't played much football recently but i'm pretty impressed he's joining you Vale fans. (not that that means a lot!!)

Purkiss needs the competition as has none.

Its just keeping him fit... if we do then it will be a very good signing.

Alex Jones rumoured to have done his ACL and heading back to Birmingham. Devastated if true :( season defining for both player and Vale)

Just hope he is not one of those who is great on loan/trial and then does nothing after signing permanently. Tony Dinning always comes to mind with this

That'd be my worry as well. He's not actually offered that much in games except for the goals, he's not scored for several games apart from 2pens, but has been playing out of position out wide rather than down the middle.
I'd rather see his loan extended until the end of the season, and play him central, rather than signing him for 2 or 3 years in January.
Downside to this would be if he did well it could be harder to sign him in the summer.

A tribunal has ruled that we will receive 200k compensation from Oxford for Curtis Nelson, rising to 280k based on appearances. Probably a fair sum, though if it was a transfer fee I would like to think we'd have held out for more than that. It seems Oxford are not pleased with the amount which seems strange. What price were you expecting for our captain who made almost 300 appearances for us before the age of 24 and was offered a vastly improved contract?

The main disappointment is that it doesn't seem we have a sell on clause in there. That's a major blow as I can see him being a multi million pound defender in future. All the attributes are there, Oxford just need to continue to develop him well. How has he played?

Nathan Smith being linked with Norwich, Stoke, Arsenal and Liverpool all of whom had him watched Saturday... £1.5 million value quoted.

Would be decent fee (personally at the moment think Remie Streete has been as good too!)

Surprised at that one, wasn't anything special for us in L2 and has spent so much time out injured since. Good luck to him though, like Atkinson he's one of our 2013 history makers.

As you can imagine, rumours about Morris leaving have started. Birmingham are the first ones linked. Also, Murray Wallace was reportedly watched by Brentford and Bristol City scouts on Monday. Those two have been our two best players this season so I really hope we can keep them both.

If you took your post and went back a year, swap Morris for Dack and Wallace for Egan, it's scary how many similarities there are between our 2015 and your 2016!
