I did see that on twitter but your never sure, its the type of player we would go towards though and Burns did well here, there was rumour locally we are trying to get him also again as believe hes stalled at Aberdeen.

Rumour for us is that an ex premiership forward has signed terms for January but that could literally be anyone.
Yeah, after Burns loan you'd think we'd be tempted to send you more academy players that could cope at L1 level. De Girolamo has very little league experience but has been superb for our 23s this season, scored a hat-trick last week.

I think Burns will be recalled in January as he's wasting his time up there with McClueless, and you'd be more than welcome to him as I don't think the lad has a future here unfortunately.

Aberdeen has definitely set Burns back, last season after his brief hook up with the Wales squad he seemed to be a player that would attract interest from most L1 teams but now not so sure. I would agree hes nowhere near Championship quality at this point or even top end of this division.

We have signed Rhys Sharpe a 22 year old Norn Iron left back who has a handful of first team appearances on loan to such football giants as Notts County and Shrewsbury.
I suppose it was nearly 2 years ago when Sharpe played for us. By all accounts did ok on his debut in an away game at Morecambe. His home debut he looked like a fish up a tree against Oxford before getting the most predictable red card in history as he was getting torn to pieces. Don't think he played again.

He seemed a pointless signing at the time as Demetriou was doing ok at left back during that season, but the manager didn't fancy him. Sharpe certainly wasn't the answer, but he was only 19/20 at the time

I'd hope we could compete with Burton for wages.
Just a random rumour atm though:dk:

You are aware Burton are in the Championship? They may only be a 'small' club but I would imagine their budget must be at least double of all clubs that are in this division surely?

I am aware of their position but I know nothing about their budget. I'd seriously doubt it's twice that of all the clubs in this division. Blades, Gills, Charlton ??

Can't help but feel there's an odd one out in that selection of 3....

On the topic, no, Burton won't have a budget 'twice the size' of everyone in this league. What they DO have is Championship football, which is the gateway to higher wages. Perform well at a struggling Championship club and you can get a move to a decent one. Perform well at a League One club, and you can get a move to a lower-end Championship club who fancy a gamble. That's generally the rule.

Clearly my comment was a total guess but in this article, their budget last season was £3.6 million

I'm quietly confident that budget has been upped, and I would guess fairly significantly.

Everton have agreed a fee for Lookman, rumoured to be 8mil up front and another 3mil in add-ons.

Knew this was inevitable, but gutting all the same.

£8 million?!

Shit me.

Depending on what you read.

That was according to The Independent but other sources are now saying £10mil which I would assume is also inclusive of add-ons.

£5 Million, but loaned back for the season (defo a factor in getting promoted) and a 20% sell on fee.

Fair bit more then, different type of player to Alli so difficult to compare but doubt Lookman will break into the England side as quickly or easily as him. Not to say it won't happen though, Koeman is said to want him involved in the first team straight away hence no loan back. He's a top player with bundles of potential so we'll see.

I guess now Bolasie is out for the season then they're in need of a similar replacement. Also highly doubt Everton will be in contention at either end of the league so it seems a good time to take a few gambles - the ex-Sheff Utd kid played a few minutes against Arsenal recently for example.

Yeah looks that way, they've had scouts watching him all season so they were obviously keen before the Bolasie injury but I guess that's what has pushed them to move so quickly.

We rejected a couple of bids from Palace in the summer so glad he's going to Everton rather than there!

Yeah, Everton are a solid club for a lower-league youngster to go to I think. They always seem to give players a chance there, and they aren't really in danger of ever going down or winning anything so what is there to lose?
