It will be Alex Jones as he's looked way below par at the moment. Don't think our style suits him at all. Clarke is one of our best players.

i like O'Shea , was quality in his brief ( 4 games ? ) Vale period, but Hanson surely is nowhere near good enough for the Championship if that is where Sheff Utd are anticipating they will be. Never ever rated him at all and his goal return is awful for a bloke his size.
He does most of the work, and it's noticeable. He also gets back and defends really well. I'm gutted he's gone.Fair comment Ziggler you see him week in week out. When i have seen him which must be 10 times easily i have been suitably unimpressed.
He maybe like Heskey in his prime, does the donkey work ( pardon the pun ) for the likes of Wells and Michael Owen in Heskeys case.
Young left back Joel Taylor has joined on loan from Stoke for the rest of the season. A quick google suggests he was their U21 player of the year last season, so presumably has something about him.
I actually think Hanson is a clever signing for the Blades. A very different forward to Sharp, but effective at what he does. If you ask most league one fans for the name of a targetman in this league, Hanson would be first on most people's lists because generally speaking he's good at it. If I was a manager, I'd always have a battering ram striker in my squad as an option and obviously Wilder thinks the same.
Alternatively, there is the argument that by buying an effective player from a club just behind them, United are trying to derail the promotion bid of Bradford. I don't think that is the case in this instance, but it's an interesting debate.
Don't get excited. We had Scott Phelan from Everton. He was their reserves/U21 Captain. He was gash.
He's unbelievably strong and he wins everything in the air but he's not a top quality target man because he struggles to hold the ball up and half his flick ons are to no one. He did well with Wells because eventually during a game they'd make it work and Wells would be in. Now he gets double marked and we don't have anyone as good as Wells so he struggles. Was the right move for him and us really.I actually think Hanson is a clever signing for the Blades. A very different forward to Sharp, but effective at what he does. Trust me, he is.
He's not all about goals, he never has been. But when partnered with a natural finisher, he will put chance after chance on a plate for them. See Nahki Wells.
Also, he's been with us for 8 years and every manager we played against raved about him. You don't get that sort of praise across the board if you're not good enough.
Charlie Wyke, Carlisle striker linked with Preston is our number one target
Sorry, Hanson is barely L1 standard let alone Championship.
You're right in the respect that he seems to flourish with a natural finisher, however we've only really seen that in L2 with Nahki and a couple of months in L1.
Also, the myth about Hanson setting up goals for Wells. Nonsense, he set up 8 of them in all competitions. A lot of fans refuse to look at this, and credit Hanson wherever applicable. Wells created his own chances and 80% of his goals through his pace and quality.
He's a good signing in the respect that he'll give The Blades another option. He's not gonna tear the rest of this L1 campaign a new one, and he'll struggle massively if Utd get promoted.
We've got the better end of this deal!
Aren't you the same Firthy who said he wouldn't make the step up from League 2 to League 1?
The fact is that the team at the top think he's good enough to make the step up, clearly, and i'd say they probably know alot more than anyone on here.
He'd scored 7 in 12 for Bury though. They also signed Leon Clarke, who quite frankly is one of the worst strikers I've ever seen in a Charlton shirt and we've had the likes of Carl Leaburn and Martin Pringle.
We who actually watch him know he has weaknesses but he has many strengths and the Blades will play to these. His team mates appreciated him and I'm confident that his new ones will be equally as appreciative. Shame non of them know as much about the game as Firthy and his ilk.Aren't you the same Firthy who said he wouldn't make the step up from League 2 to League 1?

1 in 16 since signing for them.
I'm not even saying Hanson is bad signing for Sheff Utd btw, he certainly offers them something different. I just never understand this argument 'well someone at that club must like him and I'm sure they know more than the thousands of people who've watched him on a weekly basis for years'.
This has proved to be bollocks an awful lot, teams often make signings that ultimately flop. Sir Alex Ferguson, one of the greatest managers there has been, who knows his stuff more than most once signed Ashley Young!
Swindon fans said on here what type of player Nicky Ajose is when we signed him and where he is most effective, Russell Slade, another who is supposed to be highly regarded in this division signed him and never played him that way. Surely he should know more than a few Swindon fans on an Internet forum? Apparently not, that's why he's likely to leave already in this window.
