About time these 2 played each other. All this pussyfooting around transfers and phantom new stadia needs sorting with 90 minutes of football.

Thanks Bradford for taking Charlie Wyke off us.

Absolutely awful player, he is possibly the worst player ever to play for us, so cheers!

Gillingham fans, is Billy Knott any good? He's signed on loan for us until the end of the season.

Bradford City, 1.4m spongers.

Bradford fan here - I thought he was great but massively underused for us.

He can change a game - see Bradford Vs Leeds.

Wow... Billy Knott has dropped to the non league (all be it in a decent side)... surprised by that as always seems to be real quality.

Bit surprised we've let Knott go, unless it's purely to free up funds. Made 23 appearances this season and has been one of the better players in a largely poor midfield.

And as I say that we sign Bondz Ngala. Heard his name (because it's cool), is he any good?

Barnet sold him for £60k to Eastleigh (the latter's record fee), then released him on Tuesday, two months into a 2-year deal!

EDIT - Think the Barnet fans thought he was an average L2 defender.

Our signings this window have been underwhelming to say the least, we're really shopping in the bargain bucket.

An unattached 6' 9" keeper from the Czech Republic - I Google translated some of the comments about him from a Czech football website, even if Google Translate is only 1% accurate it doesn't make for good reading.

A winger/striker aged 26 who has NEVER scored a goal in the UK, yeah he might have knocked in a few in Slovenia and Serbia, but the quality of their leagues is debatable.

Two loanees from Bournemouth who are both getting over very serious injuries sustained this season and will be a way off match fit

And now Bondz.

He's an ok National League defender. Not sure how the hell he's ended up at Gillingham, 2 months after we fleeced Eastleigh for him. Truly bizarre.

We've signed former Sheff Utd defender Bob Harris until the end of the season.

Any Blades fans able to say what he's like? Seems experienced enough.

So what if they did know?

If Bristol City are prepared to pay it, what difference does it make? If you're going to whinge about it, you shouldn't have put it in the contract in the first place.

I like Bristol Rovers but they are coming across very petty and bitter over this.
They're an embarrassment, as I said in the Championship forum this is like when they got relegated to non-league and they tried taking Wycombe to court for some ridiculous incident in hope of getting re-instated into the football league.

The release clause was released in the media a week before, there's evidence of that and the complaint will amount to nothing.

I can see why you'd say that Bobbin', but there is definitely much more to this deal than meets the eye.

Darrell Clarke implies as much in his interview today. He said something along the lines of 'I know exactly why only one Championship club came in for him, but I'll keep that to myself', before glancing tellingly at the camera to further suggest there was some dodgy dealings involved.

It says in the EFL rules and regulations that a release clause has to remain confidential. Neither a player nor his agent can tell any potential suitors how much the release clause is. The £300k price was quoted in the gossip column of the Daily Mail (I think) a couple of months ago, suggesting that somebody had been loose lipped and spilled the beans as to how much the fee was - you would assume the agent, be it directly or indirectly through another source. This then 'alerted' City to the price they needed to meet in order to speak to Taylor. Rovers have made it very clear that Taylor asked for this move, almost as if he knew it was going to happen...

It isn't beyond the realms of possibility that certain information was leaked so that City knew how much they'd have to pay, without being 'told' directly what the fee is by Taylor or his representative.

(For any City fan who inevitably reads this, I'm not personally clutching at straws because I want to forget about the whole sorry thing now, but it does appear to me that something underhand went on here. I don't think the EFL will be able to prove it though.)

Got in slightly before me JJH. I agree nothing will come of it, but feel the information was leaked deliberately to push through a move.

Alnwicks release clause become public before his move to Rangers was finalised. One of those things I guess.

Decent player, better going forward than defending

We had him on loan at Fleetwood but think he only ended up playing one cup game and never saw him again, seems to have lost his way. You never know though do you different club and environment, may slot straight in.

Gillingham remind me so much of us during Sinnott's reign! Non League manager coming into a FL club and buying players from Non League... ended in disaster. Although two of them were from Chasetown after they knocked us out the cup! Ahhh Kyle Perry and Chris Slater... whatever happened to you!

You forgot to mention the agent is a mate of the Midget

We've only signed two non-leaguers, and neither will be starters.

Kyle Perry got fat, that's what happened to him.
Wow, it must have been bad for Bondz under Martin Allen at Eastleigh if he's willing to make himself unemployable for the rest of the season.
