Despite being on a season long loan, JET has been fucked off back to QPR for being the laziest bastard in the Football League with rumours of other unprofessional off-pitch behaviour circulating, but even without those, I'm glad he's gone.

We may be shit, but bloody hell why such a talented player is intent on torpedoing his own career in such spectacular fashion by just not giving a fuck is beyond me.

You would hope at some point it might get into his head that he needs to try every now and then - being tossed out by a league one club can't be great for his ego. Hearing several rumours about his 'extra-curricular' activities also, which might explain the hastiness of this news.

Good riddance.

We had the same problem with him in the championship last season. I was so excited when we signed him, such a waste.

He's 33, been playing in Thailand, Hong Kong and Malaysia for the last 7 years , where of course the standard is that of League One...there simply has to be a better unattached player out there. Has to be

Zesh is awful but can see him looking to get involved in the back room side of things.

Signed a Turkish keeper Deniz, played in the youths of United and a couple of other Prem clubs, then spent four years at Kayserispor before a spell at Falkirk. Deniz Mehmet.

Looks a beast, don't know if he's much cop though.

Just what we needed. We now have 6 keepers on our books, but only 3 centerbacks (of which 1 is suspended and another injured) and no strikers who know where the goal is.

To be fair if available the keeper is worth signing as he is the only one available who's actually played many first team games. Johnson is the only other one and he's on loan (and seemingly out of the running to play long term)

assumed Lee Hughes forced Zesh Rehman into retirement back in 2009 - never seen a bigger mismatch between a striker and a defender at any level.

Not a Posh fan so haven't seen him regularly but Lee Angol has looked class every time I've seen him (admittedly not loads). Lincoln getting him for the Conference seems an excellent signing.

The inevitable transition into the MK Sweaties continues as Peter Pawlett signs a pre-contract agreement to move from the real Dons to the fake Dons. A Scottish international through the age groups so a good fit for the bottom half of League One.

Pawlett needs a fresh start somewhere else, so I think he's made the right decision. He's been at Aberdeen his whole career and it's just gone a bit stale.

In the 2013/14 season he was excellent and it looked like he was developing into a top level player. At his best in 2014 he was the best player on the pitch against Real Sociedad in the Europa League and was a driving force in the League Cup win.

Unfortunately though he never maintained that level and for the last three years it's been a case of hoping he could recapture that form. Now, at 26 and having barely started a game this year it's probably best to get a clean slate and start afresh at a new club. If he plays at his best he'll be a good signing I think, and if he does reach his full potential he'd be brilliant.

Hmmm.

Some games he was. He's a good defender but bit of a liability too, expect him to pick up plenty of cards.

Baring in mind we were in the Championship and was 'ok', a level down he should be able to do a job.

McCall's said that Alex Jones only cost £30k, wonder how Vale fans feel? I get they didn't want to deal with arsehole agents but the low price surely gave them some bargaining room.

We offered the same as you I believe. Birmingham accepted our offer but it wasn't a case of the money more the chance to play in a side near the top and stable over one falling fast and signing 40 players.

Vale fan bias aside I know what I'd do if I was Alex!

Fair enough when you put it like that it makes sense. I read an article saying the reason it broke down was because of agents fees. Was just shocked he cost so little.

Birmingham felt he wasn't going to make it for them so imagine they will just cover their arses with a decent sell on clause.

Some of our best signings have been the cheap ones such as Constantine.

I defended him in a twitter argument with a Vale fan a few weeks back (he said thanks which was nice!) no Vale fan can slate him, he gave us a chance of staying up with his goals and left a volitile club for stabled one having a decent season.

Can't blame a player for wanting to play as high as possible. Had the same with Wells when he was here, problem with that was there were suggestions he feigned injury to force a move, I never really saw that though.

Peter Clarke signs 2yr extension.

Whilst he may well be 35, he's played more minutes than anyone in this league this season (bar one I think) so would like to think he's the exception to the rule that it's risky giving aged players deals longer than a year.

Him and Ripley have been superb for us this season. Whilst we won't have Ripley next season, a Clarke & Gerrard CB provides a solid base to build from.

Would also think he may end up in a coaching role as his 2yr deal nears its end.

It's strange to see our board looking to plan for the following season so in advance...
