Rumours been circulating the last week that our old pal Warnock is doing us another 'favour' from Cardiff and sending us Rickie Lambert on loan who's out of favour there.

Local rag (shitshow) now reporting he was spotted outside Home Park.

Could have legs... our number 9 shirt was left mysteriously blank when squad numbers were revealed. Whether Lambert has legs at 35 is a different matter. Sure he could do a job, swear he only scored for England a couple years ago.

Obviously Lambert is still loved here so he's been mentioned by our fans, big name for this level but personally wouldn't want him, he's struggled for a number of years now. Might work out if there's pace around him and he plays regularly though.

I think the Lambert situation is well and truly in the balance, with wages certainly being the main issue as it seems he picks up around £20k-£25k p/w. Although, this is definitely going to be biggest problem to overcome for Argyle in order to move further with negotiations, it strikes me as also a case of "how many other teams in this league would be willing to spend that sort of money p/w on a 35 year old?". The reason i say "in this league" is because i think Lambert is a wise enough man to understand that he probably is looking towards league 1 as his guaranteed week to week game time and therefore his options are certainly going to be limited if he is looking for a permanent contract of similar wages that Cardiff City are paying him.

As a result, the general feeling of most Argyle fans/Cardiff fans is that with Lambert still under contract with Cardiff, a loan move is definitely more likely. The problem with this is however is again the financial difficulties that Argyle will have with Cardiff in agreeing what percentage each club pays in order to sign Rickie Lambert.

Lets say that Rickie Lambert is contracted with Cardiff on £25,000 p/w. With a slight understanding of Argyle's budget for this season i.e resigning Graham Carey, and 9 new additions. I cannot see Argyle being able to pay anymore than about 15% (£3,750 p/w). Therefore, the situation seems weird in that Cardiff would be willing to allow an experienced ex-England international striker to leave the club whilst still paying £21,250 p/w.

Just my views.

I'd be delighted if we signed him,
League 2 side 3 months ago,
Almost out of business 6 years ago,
How times have changed (hopefully for the better).

The bottom 3 points are exactly why I would advise you not to touch him with a barge pole, like us you have to claw your way back. I wouldn't be risking the club finances on a has been, it doesn't sound massive amounts but it's still more than most at this level, certainly for the promoted sides. It's rare that someone of his age drops down, thinking he's doing the club a favor and is a success. Two recent examples are Mclean with us and Holt with Wigan big wages and a total waste. If you are looking to build in this league with promotion been a goal in a couple of seasons, then surely it's best to lay the foundations atm?

I tend to agree, unless Colin really is doing us a major major favour, it does not seem logical to me. Yes, if he still can do it, I'd love to see him here, but the finances and team spirit worry me. However, in Adams I trust.

Portsmouth Signed Tareiq Holmes-Dennis on loan from Huddersfield. Sounds like a decent young left back. Played a handful of games for both Charlton and Huddersfield in the champ as well as oldham in league 1 on loan. We need a senior (ish) left back

Yes, happy with that.

Plymouth fans, he played for you in 2015, was he any good then?

THD is a good signing.

Should be our first choice LB now, another player this pathetic regime should never have let go. Was always better than Morgan Fox imo who we kept persisting with for some reason. Good defender, pacey and can get a good cross in. Decent signing.

I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, but my memory is that I was extremely impressed with him. I am sure I have a recollection of someone who would go onwards and upwards.

Ash Taylor being announced at 18:15. Centre half from Aberdeen, played 100 games over the past three years in the Premiership up there. Seems a good signing.

The lad gets in good positions and is quick.:err:

I really the liked look of him when you played us at home in League but its one game. Overall jury seems to be out on Hiwula though so we will just have to see how he gets on, I suspect there wont be much middle ground with him, be absolutely useless or amazing.

Think Wilsden has done him a disservice there.

He can also jump, like really high and that. Yeah.

Credit to the lad he always tried and showed promise. I didn't necessarily mind him, but at times he was frustrating beyond belief. He's got little composure and I don't think it can be coached, he's better when he doesn't have time to think. Still better than Cole at least.

Technically he's up there with one of the worst I've seen, yet he gets in good positions and scores goals. Definitely a good option to have off the bench.

Him and Cole, two peas in a pod. He's really good from, erm, 6 yards.

Hearing Rickie Lambert could be off to Blackburn, Blackburn made an offer and Cardiff accepted. No idea if any truth to this

Wish we'd given him more of a chance. Instead we played Lopes who's utter shite. It all lead to Moncur's wife ranting on Twitter at how much of a shithole Peterborough is. I'm sure she'll enjoy Gillingham if he goes there.
Really? I thought he was supposed to be great, we had £4m turned down for him in Jan!

If MacAnthony and fat Baz turned down 4 million for a player i'd slap myself. If they turned down 4 million for that donkey i'd slap them instead. The worst thing is he might be playing wing back this year and I can't wait to see players like Poleon tearing him a new arsehole week in week out.

We've mad a bid for Matt Crooks but are apparently competing with another club. He was unreal last season on loan so it would be huge if we would bring him in.

Dom Vose has also been told he can go for free if a club wants him. He will go down as one of the most pointless signings in our history, he's played like 5 times if that.

The gypo's of Doncaster will be quiet as Marquis has rejected a new deal with them.

I'll stop slagging TS if he signs him just to piss the gypo's off.

Personally I thought Holmes Dennis along with Blackman were among the worst defenders I've ever seen in green, almost spat my lunch out when I saw he'd been playing in the Championship (admittedly in a relegation side).

Players develop and perhaps he has so good luck to him - but if he hasn't then he's a bad defender and has a bit of energy going forward. He tried hard in a sad period of league 2 transition for us I think.

Does this make him the Sonny Bradley of League One? (or a second Sonny Bradley of League One, if you get my drift)

He's still under contract so if he goes it will cost, at present no one has come in for him. He's got a tremendous work rate but he isn't an out and out striker. I can see why he's failed to score many in the past.

He'll be gone by end of next week and it'll be for peanuts now everybody knows he wants out.

Good lucky trying to afford a new couple of a strikers to replace him with a pittance.

Why would we need two? I'm not convinced he will score any where near as many as last season and we don't have to sell him if we don't want to so it's not going to be peanuts.
