Brett Pitman will do for me. Just the sort of big striker we are lacking, still only 29 and generally done well at Championship level.

Do you feel we need that much more? We've signed up half a dozen, I would say we're only lacking in terms of numbers up front and a creative midfielder. The signing of Ogilvie has given us depth at both left back and centre half, Pennock seems to be wanting to play wing backs so O'Neil and Wagstaff can compete on the right there, the midfield still has several options (albeit missing that creative spark) and we've got a couple of new forwards in already, although I'd like some pace up there too. Another centre back would be useful if Morris is out for a while, but he's more than capable of playing there (or indeed, most places!) if he's fit.

I think you answered your own question quite accurately there. Some quality is needed in midfield and up front, whether we get it or not remains to be seen. Rumour of Dexter Blackstock incoming, can't see it myself.

Looks like James Vaughan will be joining Sunderland soon. Between 900k and a million is being banded about but will be announced as undisclosed.

Disappointed but a club our size cant turn offers like that down. Lee Novak has been rumoured to replace him - not sure on the likelihood of that?

Our local paper are saying that a 3rd bid believed to be 900k has been rejected this week. Maybe not all done and dusted as I originally thought.

After our chairman said we're not going to go back in for Crooks yesterday, Alexander has came out and said we're still hopeful the deal will happen. Apparently all parties want it to happen, it's just a case of settling on a transfer fee.

Yeah, I've heard that you had a larger bid accepted and ours was rejected for not being good enough. He apparently wants to come here, most likely due to him playing for us last season and being close friends with a few of our players. Not sure if we will up our bid though.

Dwight Tiendalli signs for Oxford on 1 year deal. Is a full back and will challenge for left back position. Could be a good signing as he's played at a high standard and possibly a good risk to take with only offering a 1 year contract. Happy with that as we've added a bit of experience to the squad recently.
