Well, I've seen the first rumour about an incoming player today. Jay Emmanuel Thomas. Free. Not sure what I think about that tbh.

Certainly doesn't seem like Warney's type, he is talented but always looks bone idle.
He is probably on decent wages too, think I'd rather keep Jonno TBH.

JET is lazy as shit, unless he wants a new deal. Obvious talent but can't be arsed most of the time.

Seems little point us signing him then when JCH is exactly the same.

Exclusive interview with our chairman released this morning in our local rag confirms the following;

- Nahki Wells cash windfall in the summer (£700k) is being paid in instalments over a few year period - received less than 25% so far.

- Charlie Wyke is not for sale. Period.

- We have put a bid in for another player, thought to be Kristian Dennis at Chesterfield.

- Had a team not competing for promotion come in for Tony McMahon, Chairman feels it may have had more legs.

- Key areas identified for strengthening:- Striker, CM and CB.

- Only approaching players who have been playing regularly.

I'm not a Hendrie fan but would be classic City to lose him and then have TMac decide half way through Jan he wants to go to Scunny. Very strange tactics being employed by us at the moment.

Bolton is also being mentioned for Toums, pretty sure the game on Saturday against Bury will the last I see him in green. Going to you would also be a logical move for him, in fact more logical than Bolton. Though as SERNWA has pointed out that you have the best midfield in the league would there be room for him?
He is definitely off, gave away his shirt and shin pads at the end of the game. I did wonder, at one point, how much of his clothes he would remove. Latest rumour is Fleetwood.

Wigan linked with Andy Boyle on loan.

He's not very good but might find his level down here.

Lee Evans didn’t play today and is presumably getting recalled to be sold by Wolves. Rumour is he’s off to Sunderland. Wouldn’t be a huge loss, but a surprise none the less. EDIT: He’s off to Sheff Utd according to the Daily Mail for 750k. Best of luck to him as he’s done well for us this season.

Probably off topic but this winds me up every time. If a club - any club at any level - buys a player, they should pay the whole sum up-front (excluding agreed performance-related add-ons and sell-on percentages). No money, no transfer. That should be supervised by the FA or EUFA/FIFA for international transfers. Yeah, I know but they are supposed to be the governing bodies. It might drive down some of the ludicrous fees involved as well.

In this case, I can't understand why Bradford agreed but I don't know what their financial position was at the time.

Very decent. We had him on loan in the Championship for a while.

Shay Facey, I thought he was poor tbh and nowhere near ready for championship at the time. He might have improved a bit since and might be better in this division.

We were under Lawn and Rhodes at the time, they always treated our financial situation as desperate with never ending deficits. We got a poor deal I thought just with the transfer fee, let alone getting add ons in instalments.

I agree with your initial point regarding the previous owners, but I feel the resulting fee we will get from Nahki Wells is more than sufficient.

Original fee: £1.35m
Add-ons: £500k
Promotion bonus: £200k
Sell-on clause: £500k

Total: £2.55m

He’d only played 6 months of league one football at the time.

Where on earth have you read that?

Alan Nixon from the Sun. Throws a lot of shit so naturally some sticks, but I wouldn’t put my house on any of his stories being certainties tbh.

He said Doyle to Latics was absolute nonsense - 15 minutes later he signed.

No more than any other journalist. Gets a bad rap for whatever reason, maybe because he shares more stuff online rather than in the paper.

Horrendous journalism.

We won't be signing anyone this window and Portsmouth most definitely would not entertain any interest from play-off rivals.

Alan Nixon should be sacked for that.

Alan Nixon said that McCall was going to quit all summer and basically caused a meltdown until McCall got back off holiday and said he was staying.

Signed: Kundai Benyu on loan from Celtic - attacking midfielder.

Linked: Easah Suliman from Villa - Villa youngster who captained England u19s to the Euros this year and scored the winner - centre back.

Luke Hendrie expected to sign from Burnley as Bradford City could not agree deal. Good signing although I doubt he will go straight into a starting line up especially with the signing of the excellent Max Lowe from Derby. This possibly means the exit door for Joe Riley as well.

Hopefully Pringle can be finalised as well.

I'd feel bad for the guy but then I realise he's on about 6k a week.

Apparently according to Sky Sports News Barnsley are after our keeper Simon Eastwood.

It could happen obviously, but I'd be surprised if he goes to be a back up keeper as he picked us over Championship clubs due to being no.1 and playing. He has only missed 1 game in this spell with us, a Checkatrade game, and when asked on Saturday he said he was frustrated at missing that.

Hendrie’s not a ‘good’ signing for a team looking to get promoted into the Chanpionship. He’ll do a job and might improve as he’s quite young.

Also his names Luke, Lee Hendrie is about 45 and probably playing in the Taiwanese second division by now.

I wish we were linked with something positive.

We're a team look below rather than above, yet the only talk is of our players leaving. In fact - we sold our best player to a team chasing promotion in the prem.

We're fooked! Everyone around us in the table seems to have added players apart from us...
