The Oxford chariman said our £500k bid for Ryan Ledson didn't happen and their manager has recently kicked off about selling their star players.

Can't see that one happening.

We've been linked with midfielder Cameron Brannagan from Liverpool on a permanent deal by The Independent for 2 1/2 years. Played 9 times for Liverpool and spent the final half of last season at Fleetwood.

May well be something in this as we really aren't newsworthy and I don't think news of a Liverpool u23 squad member is newsworthy either for a national newspaper. Don't know if this means anything with regards Ryan Ledson as I haven't a clue what type of midfielder Brannagan is.

SF: The comment about not knowing about a bid was by our manager on Saturday before having a transfer meeting that evening so the Oxford Mail article could be misleading. Pep Clotet certainly would be unhappy if it happened though and Ledson playing Saturday was suggestive of either no bid or it being turned down outright.

Signed Richard O'Donnell from Rotherham. Sending Matt Ingram, frees up a loan space which we'll probably need

I wish we were linked with something positive.

We're a team look below rather than above, yet the only talk is of our players leaving. In fact - we sold our best player to a team chasing promotion in the prem.

We're fooked! Everyone around us in the table seems to have added players apart from us...
We haven’t signed anyone and list Whiteman who was joint top scorer so your not on your own.

That's a long time to be linked with someone, should probably move onto other targets really. :animatedf:

Hendrie’s not a ‘good’ signing for a team looking to get promoted into the Chanpionship. He’ll do a job and might improve as he’s quite young.

Also his names Luke, Lee Hendrie is about 45 and probably playing in the Taiwanese second division by now.

He is as cover. We have signed Max Lowe from Derby for the left back position, and Bolton has been excellent at Right Back. Omar Beckles has done a great job at left back even though he is a CB and being two footed can easily play at RB as well.

Anyway he has not signed yet, so a deal might be done for him to return to Bradford as Stuart McCall seemed gutted it had fallen through?

It's a very strange situation tbh, he travelled down with the team on Saturday and everyone including McCall expecting him to be staying the season.

I don't know this for fact but this is what the rumour is. He was told in the hotel only hours before the game, that talks had broken down and we'd failed to come to an agreement, apparently we wanted to pay less wages so it sounds like Burnley said no thanks we have others interested. Luke is a boyhood City fan and apparently broke down devastated when he was told, so it sounds like he doesn't want to go to Shrewsbury maybe that's the hold up? It sounds like our clubs fault tbh, although he's not the best he has improved since he arrived and can play a number of positions, I'd have like him to stay as his versatility is like having an extra man on the bench. As a side not to the saga, his dad is a club legend here and good mates with McCall, so it's not only pissed McCall off as he thought he was staying, but with his connections to the club it's creating division among our fans, I've never seen this much drama created over an average player.

The whole situation needs an explanation from our top brass, I don't normally call for a postmortem on transfers but when a young player allegedly breaks down in front of his teammates and he is well liked by players and staff, then it needs explaining. Especially just before a game, a few are saying this is why the players were so lacklustre, which if it's true then this incident could have cost us a tie with Man Utd.

They're the words used, obviously gutted to be forced to leave such a huge club for one of these tinpot league 1 clubs. I suppose if Wigan came in for him it would cheer him up no end.

We have recalled GK Jack Stevens from his loan as Eastwood wont be able to play in the Checkatrade tonight due to a 'Shoulder Problem.'

This means he's on his way to Barnsley then!

Nadir Ciftci set to terminate his loan here to go on loan elsewhere and Nathan Blissett has been told to find another club with Maccelsfield and Wrexham both interested. With Alex Fletcher currently on loan at Torquay, that leaves us with Ryan Taylor. Definitely a couple of strikers to come in this month. Anyone suggest a few names of who it could be?

We have Carlton Cole playing and scoring for out u23s today. Not a signing that will please many. Though we need a target man.

We've been linked with a striker from Truro City. That's as exciting as it gets for Gillingham FC at present.

Cooke?

Confirmed by Greg Abbott that we have been looking at him, but not looking to sign him this window.

You’ve signed him. As per WilsdenBantam says I think McCall is just arsed off at the situation with regards to our transfer policy and our chairman’s ‘tactics’. They don’t seem to have an easy relationship.

Biggest mistake of Ciftci’s career picking Celtic over us two years ago. We’ve made a bid for Eddie Clarke at Tranmere according to their local media and the Notts County chairman says their in a two horse race with us to sign a Premier League loanee.

I would have picked pea wet and playing in front of 12 fans over Champions League and playing in front of 60k every week.

Yes indeed allegedly.

Truth is we don't need a great deal adding to the squad. We need to either get Clare back for the season or a replacement in that position, then maybe another body up front and a wide man, but I won't lose too much sleep if we don't get them. There's the train of thought that there's little point splashing out in this window when current form suggests we're going to be mid-table with the squad we have anyway, so is it worth it?

Don’t think he ever played for Celtic in the Champions League, they were the days of Ronny Delia when the likes of Maribor knocked them out in the qualifiers. Never played for Celtic unless it was a five minute cameo off the bench, and has now been dumped by a mid table L1 side. He’ll be back at Dundee where he came from by the summer.

But how would he have known all that when he was picking between Wigan or Celtic? Think most people would do what he did if they had a sliver of ambition. Harsh to criticise.

Ben Pringle confirmed until the end of the season. If he stays fit we have a good player on our hands.

Very disappointed about this. Marek is playing at the moment, but is only a loanee. Of our own keepers, you've bought the best one.

We've been linked with Freddie Woodman from Newcastle. I assume this is an insurance policy should Simon Eastwood be sold.

Hasn't had any injuries while he's been here so his fitness isn't really an issue.

Alex Neil and Ridsdale were at Oxford's game last night, presumably watching Ledson.

They've just signed a new midfielder so maybe something can be done.

We haven't signed a midfielder, we've been linked with one. And they aren't a straight swap either as Brannagan (assuming he signs and I'm not sure he will) is a wide midfielder/no.10 according to the Liverpool website.
