Ellis Harrison moving to a championship club - announced tomorrow. Strong rumors we got £1.6m for him.

We needed at least 1 striker before, with Ellis off we are now desperate for 2 quality strikers.

Apparently we’re signing an experienced LB tomorrow but I feel that the signings of strikers will determine if we’ll be mid table or a play off team next season

I think most clubs need strikers currently!

Scott Golbourne I believe, released this summer. He'll do a decent job for you, nothing spectacular but steady enough.

Marquis’s value just keeps going up and up, problem is the amount it will cost to replace him
Calvin Andrew's valuation has gone up thanks to France and the similarly occasional scorer Giroud winning the world cup!

£2m for Moore, £1.6m for Harrison, £1.5m for Eisa, £1m+ for Collins & Wyke.

Christ, no wonder we're rinsing the Ryanair flights to Ireland.

Ipswich isn't it?
We’re supposedly the club buying but for that amount, surely someone’s on a wind up? We don’t spend that sort of money!
I guess luckily (or unluckily) for us Paul Hurst is your manager. Him & Clark are best mates hence the price.

Good luck to Harrison, he's been superb for us. Not quite sure he's 100% ready for the Championship yet but his overall contribution all over the pitch is superb.

It's just quite ironic that in the past 18 months we've sold our 3 best players in Taylor (300k), Bodin (450k), Harrison (1.6m) - where Harrison is the worst out of the 3 and by far worth the least.

Damn, if we had that team this season we'd be walking into the Championship (although i'm sure 90% of clubs could say the same).

Can't argue with that. But we're really f*cked atm though. We needed at least 1 striker before Gaffney went to Salford & Harrison to Ipswich. Now we're relying on Tom Nichols (god help us - scored 1 goal last season) & Gavin Reilly who was in the Scottish Championship last season. At least hopefully we'll be spending some money in the next week and a half!

Cheers Ciderup, didn't hear about that, on paper he sounds exactly what we need.

Can't help but feel a bit nervous about signing 2 players from MK Dons' relegation team though

Fair fucks if that's true.
Paying way over the odds there. Mind you, what is way over the odds in today's market?? No offence but when someone goes for 1.6m you would expect them to be tearing teams apart in every game. Crazy transfer market

Not sure if it is 1.6m btw - just the rumours on our forum. Our manager did confirm that its 7 figures though.

Tbh, 1m is a fair price in todays market for Ellis - he's 24 and adds so much to our game. I have no doubt without Ellis last season we would have been in a relegation fight but instead ended midtable and even ended up flirting with the play offs.

That's worth more than 1m for me

How the fuck did we only get 750k for Dack when all this bullshit is going on?

We should cash in when Blackburn sell him for £20 million though I guess.

£1-£1.6 Million for Harrison is crazy, but if Rovers can get that then well done to them and fair play.

When you look at the fact Dack went for £750k it's astonishing, if Harrison is worth a mil then Dack should be over 10 and that's no exaggeration. I'd also want over £2mil for Wyke even with his contract(although I don't think he's worth that), bearing in mind he's contributed(scored or assisted) in something like 40 out of our last 60 goals.

Fair point.

Considering Matty Taylor left for 300k & Bodin for 450k - I think it's only fair we'd finally get a good price.

Both of those are/were worth much much more than 1m

Ipswich are closing in on our left back, Conor Townsend. Reported fee of between 500k to 600k. Another one of our star players leaving this summer and our team continuing to fall apart.

Hurst seems to have persuaded Marcus Evans to finally spend some cash!

Got any proof that we've confirmed it?

We confirmed that we agreed on a fee with an unnamed club, which is a completely different thing.

The article has changed now from £700k to undisclosed, so now it looks like I'll have egg on my face!

No worries, probably they misread our statement at the time. We never confirm prices whether we buy, sell or even players' contract lengths.

In fact, the fact our manager announced on PA system at the open day on Saturday that "Harrison is going to a Championship club, announced on Monday - a fee of 7 figures" is the most information we've heard in years

So in the end Bristol City came out of nowhere and nabbed Mo Eisa from Cheltenham. Always thought we'd miss out as there was plenty of Championship level interest.

We may now stick with Conor Chaplin, which will no doubt disappoint Coventry.

Two midfield players have joined today.

Doug Loft on a one year contract after impressing as a trialist in our pre-season games.

Charlie Colkett on a season long loan from Chelsea.

Good luck getting more than about two hours worth of football out of Doug Loft. Most injury prone player I think I've ever come across.

Dwight Tiendalli wins that one, but then again you did mention it being a footballer so Doug Loft probably wins.

Gills fans, we’re apparently going to be signing Lee Martin in the next day or so. Seems to have played quite regularly last season and also captained the team?

Good addition?

Our chairman has confirmed we've rejected a bid for our left-back, Conor Townsend from Ipswich. No mention of a fee though.

All action, and tries to make things happen. Doesn't always succeed, but the desire is there. Is capable of scoring belters too, such as Pompey away last season:

Cheers, that strike was a belter indeed.

Hopefully this rumour is true as he certainly looks decent for a L2 team.

Fair comment, but that's why he's only been given a one year contract. He has a lot to offer and the risk is well worthwhile in my opinion.

We've strengthened further this evening with midfield player Josh Laurent joining from Wigan. One of John Askey's main summer targets.

With Laurent and the boy Colkett from Chelsea to add to Jon Nolan, Bryn Morris and Loft we're now looking strong in centre midfield. Just another goalkeeper short of a decent squad for the season ahead, the rumour mill there has us signing Joel Coleman from Huddersfield on a season long loan.

Bench player anyway....We have also signed Laurent from Wigan today giving us 6 central midfielders for 3 places and presuming Nolan, Colkitt will be the likely 2 guaranteed to start leaves Morris, Loft, Laurent and Sam Jones to battle it out for the other place with us playing a 433, 451 or 352.
