We're being linked to yet another Irish youngster, which is clearly an area we're targeting having signed three last year and lost out on one to Oxford this season.

Which one are you linked to? Was the Irish lad you missed out on Luke McNally? If so he is a unit!

We have been linked to Shayne Lavery of Linfield from the Norn Iron end but haven't a clue if it is true or it is the usual BS rumours. I'm not sure how he would fit into our squad tbh.

Yeah, Luke McNally. Looks a good prospect.

The one we're linked to is Lee Bonis, striker for Portadown.

Cheltenham fans, could Will Boyle step up to the Championship?

I've just read he has a knee ligament injury... surely that's him not playing until 2022?

Seems a weird link to me, possibly a backup option if Stoke won't sell us Liam Lindsay for the Pesetas left over from Peter Ridsdale's trip to Alicante in 1997.

We're interested in Portsmouth keeper Craig MacGillvray.

Seems to suggest we are front runners currently. Can't say I know an awful lot about him but with Forster-Caskey being out until the new year and Pratley leaving the club it's certainly an area we need to add to.

Bonner got his work cut out this summer
Agreed. If we lose Mullin, Knoyle, Digby and Hoolahan retires it’s a complete rebuild.

Digby would be a massive loss. Goes under the radar with how good he is.

Your typical destroyer. Big and strong, intercepts, and gets you playing again. Proper leader.

Yep. Sounds like exactly the sort of thing we’re after now Pratley has gone and Adkins has said he wants a younger group of players.

Digby's great, I'd have him back absolutely no question, not convinced he's good enough for a side aiming automatic promotion though, I'd put his ceiling at mid-table L1 but I've been wrong many times before.

Fair play to him if he can get a move to Sunderland or Charlton, no grudges here if that comes to pass. Have to trust Bonner and team to fill the gaps as well as last summer if we lose who we think we're going to lose.

A lot of rumours mainly from Sunderland fans, that they are trying to sign Owen Dale from us. Not sure I believe it to be honest. I wouldn’t put him at the front of the queue to be leaving, he’s only really started to perform more consistently over the last 6 months.

Despite him being my player of the season this past season, I'd say the Championship is probably a step too far for Boylo. He's got a hell of a brainfart on him, and he's not the quickest. That being said, he heads balls for fun and is a brick wall to get past. He's also a hell of a nuisance in the opposition box - it's notable that we scored more from Tozer's throw-ins when he was playing than when he wasn't.

The injury isn't too bad. There was talk of him being back before the end of the season, but it wasn't felt he was needed so urgently for the run in.

We'll want some money for him mind - he's got two years left on his deal and we're not the same mugs who accepted £30k and a friendly from Burnley 17 years ago (coincidentally, for Michael Duff).

Yeah, he sounds like Liam Lindsay, who could only really be used in a back three to make up for his deficiencies. Wouldn't be completely shocked if Boyle is a Plan B or C for us.

We need loads of players really.

He's the sort of player who you'll love because he gives 100% every game without fail. The sort to put his head in where it hurts. He may not be technically great, but his tenacity more than makes up for it.

I'm a sucker for that sort of player and I'd be gutted if he goes. He does seem to be being constantly linked with returns to the North though.

Joe Pigott announcing he's leaving Wimbledon.

Wonder if if we'll be looking to bring him back. He may well get a bottom half Championship club.

I'm sure Pigott will be off to the championship. He didn't do it for us but we did have that idiot Shaun Derry in charge of us at the time so no surprise really.

Crap for us but he was thrown in at the deep end in The Championship, he was always highly rated coming through the academy though.

Just unlucky I think to come through at a time of unstable ownership.

Pigott was pretty rubbish for us too, looked like a wounded giraffe running around at times and missed some absolute sitters as well.

Turned up for Wimbledon and looked a completely different player, more physically filled out and good in the air.

Joe pigott aka the lamp post.

Done absolutely nothing for us but really can’t fault him since he left.

Pigott found himself at Maidstone I thought and that’s when the penny dropped for him IMO.

He was very good there and hasn’t looked back since. Maidstones form went completely awol when he left them at the end of 2018.

I'm surprised it's taken this long but we are being linked with Teddy Bishop.

He was a cracking young player when he broke through. Had a few injuries hasn’t he? Not sure what he’s like nowadays.

Yes has had his injury problems but certainly has the quality. Maybe a fresh start will do him good and wouldn't be against offering him a deal based around appearances/injuries.

Yep can't knock Pigotts goal scoring record for us.I reckon a lower half championship club will come in for him.I doubt he'll go to another league 1 club

As an impact sub there won’t be a better finisher below the premier league than Defoe. Depends on his wage demands I suppose but he would definitely gain you points over a season.

Co owner suggested they would have been willing to get "close" to demands (baring in mind he's currently on £30k/week) but 60% rule makes that impossible unless Ed Sheeran has paid millions over the odds to sponsor us!
