I know everyone likes to rile up Masi but I do have a feeling Bolton will be in top 6 contention.

Don't know anything about their players but they've got that momentum/ feel-good factor which goes a long way.

I think top 6 is a push but I really really like the business we are doing. First time in several years we’ve had that feel good factor like you say. We are offering 3 year deals for potential assets that have resale value. I really like the way we are going about it.

Declan John and Dapo Afolayan were levels above league 2 for us when they signed on loan in January and we have got them both on frees on 3 year deals. I think we’ve only lost something like 1 game in 17 that Dapo started. If he adds the goals to his game that his performances deserved last season he will be with us for 1 season then getting a big move to the championship for sure. Plus we’ve added Sheehan who was in the league 2 team of the year and capped by Wales this season. And the cb Johnston who played in league 1 last season. I don’t know much about him but Wigan fans didn’t seem happy that we’d beaten them to his signature. Not arsed about the Euros … just want the domestic stuff to start again

Dapo is a tricky player but if he does well i do see other clubs coming for him like CMG for ourselves

He’s the sort of player that gets you on the edge of your seat. Takes players on for fun. Hopefully at the very least we could make some money on him.

Hahaha. He’s got 1 year left because you activated his 1 yr extension. Will he sign a new deal? If not you could be losing him for free next summer.
I think so as we've only had a new manager in since tuesday

He’s been linked with Sunderland, Rangers and a few championship clubs. Would be your signing of the summer to extend his contract. Looked really good this past season.

Brophy was Blackpool bound until they got promoted. Beating Crewe and Plymouth to Lloyd Jones too suggests the first two through the door are our no.1 targets.

Linked to Lawrence Vigouroux all of a sudden (only mentioned down at Orient's end at the minute).

Get your reporter to ask Appleton about the tunnel incident at the Oxford/Swindon game when MApp got a black eye, that came about partly due to Vigouroux's sending off should he sign and Chris Maguire winding Swindon players up.

We weren't linked with Lloyd Jones I don't think he was training at Manadon Sports Hub in December as he's Plymouth born and our fans put 2 and 2 together and thought he's a free agent at the time he must be signing for us before he joined Northampton.

I know what happened in that tunnel, and Vigouroux is lucky that Appleton didn't get to him. Appleton would snap him in two.

After that, and Vigouroux's shambolic performances against us when Appleton was manager, I'd be amazed if Lincoln were looking to sign him.

That's a relief - he's been a calamity every time I've seen him, so I really donr want us to sign him. Probably just agent talk trying to link him to a club without a #1 keeper.

In a team that didn’t score many goals he conspired to miss some big big chances. His hold up play is generally very good, he works hard, but unfortunately he fitted in to our stable of strikers who couldn’t score goals. May change in a team who create chances more regularly.

Did you hear the Rob Hall interview about it last summer? His comments made me chuckle.

Word down here is that we're trying to sign Omar Beckles from Crewe.
That would be a bit of a strange one. I think he's quite settled in the area (which played a big part in him signing for us in the first place) and he's too good for League Two. However, it's clear that he's not signing the new contract we've offered him and I haven't heard that many rumours about interest from other clubs.

He lives in the same village as I do just outside of Shrewsbury. Has done for a few years now, see him every so often walking around the village or down the pub with his mrs and kid. Looks settled, can’t see him leaving you to head to London personally.

There was an article last month that said Beckles had been offered a contract by Wigan. But with them signing Tom Naylor I wonder if they've withdrawn their interest.

Love our signings so far with Dapo (23), John (25), Sheehan (26) & Johnston (22) they can all grow with the club & are at good ages with their best years to come yet. Everybody seems to be on board with the project at hand whether its the manager, ownership, players & the fans. If feels good for the club to have its soul back & it feels like the start of a new dawn where the only way is up. All that being said I don't expect us to be threatening the top 6 next season, apart from Doyler we are severely lacking goals from all the other areas of the pitch. We will also be stubborn in our set in stone possession based, nice on the eye football & get bullied by the more physical teams who are strong from long throws & set pieces which we neglected all last season. One thing though is that if it's not all rosey at the start IE will come good & get the team in a ruthless winning mentality just like he did with Barrow in the conference & just like he did with us in L2.

Wouldn't surprise me if Beckles signed for Orient. I was told 2 months ago that his wife wanted to move back to London (although I didn't hear it directly, that came from Charles Grant).

We weren’t interested in Lloyd Jones. He grew up in Plymouth so naturally when he’s available he gets linked to us. We had him a couple years ago when we got relegated on loan, he was shite.

No, I didn't. What did he say?

His whole interview is entertaining, one of the interviews done in the lockdown last season and may still be available on the club's youtube channel. He was on a roll about the Swindon game in general but he didn't hold back on taking the pee out of Vigouroux and the other Swindon players. Iirc, he was saying how he was trying to get away from the immediate area of the trouble as he was a wuss but couldn't.

I'd happily have Rob Hall back at the club as part of the media/communications team off the pitch as he seems a natural but sadly no longer as a player.

Been told Kenny Jackett wants to/is trying to sign Oliver Hawkins from Ipswich as one of strikers who he had at Portsmouth and Joe Piggott whom he wants as our new striker.

Personally I think we have zero chance of getting Piggott as last I saw a load of the big hitters in League One wanted him. I think that one is more of an ambitous punt more than anything.

Also heard we want Ryan Allsop as our goalkeeper as well, but that one might be nonsense.

Word also going round that Conor Wood and Omar Beckles will sign by Tuesday.
