Indeed, 3 year deal.

Furthermore, Ashton expects something to develop in the next few days with Crooks.

Crooks is in Hungary for a pre-season jolly but will be back on Friday.

We have heard £800,000 so far, time to step it up if you are serious because there's a championship club very interested.

They're probably just waiting to see your final bid then offer us a fiver extra.

No doubt that Crooks would prefer to stay as a Championship player.

So don't get too giddy because Mr Stewart will not sell to another League 1 club unless it matches his valuation and the Championship club loses interest.

I'll add to that Colin has arranged a friendly with us at NYS on Friday 30th July so maybe he was happy for Warney to get him up to speed ready to talk before the game.
Colin has a lot of time for Warne and certainly Smith and Crooks have been rumoured to be heading to Boro since the day relegation was confirmed.

I see Ipswich have splashed the cash again to sign Joe Piggott from AFC Wimbledon despite Championship "interest".
I’m always slightly amazed by how Piggott’s career has gone as he was awful for us. Admittedly he was in a poor side and we didn’t play to his strengths etc but still find it incredible that Ipswich have fought off Championship clubs to sign him.

Joe Walsh to Oxford apparently...
Signed a contract extension recently
Cracking player but missed big chunks of the season with injury.
I'd be really surprised as he's not long signed a new contract so would take a big fee. Not seen a better left footed centre half. Just can't seem to stay fit hence why he's a L1 player.

2 years left on his contract I think, Walsh is definitely our best defender but we didn’t see anywhere near enough of him because of injuries. Also MK fans said he was injury prone when we got him. I have no idea how likely this is or the size of fee involved if true but it’s a strange development and would give us even more re-building to do.

We've signed Jensen Weir on a season loan from Brighton. They paid £500k for him last summer from Wigan. Did he play much for you Wigan fans? Seems highly rated.

I'd be amazed if we sold our best CB only four months after signing a new 2½ year deal unless it was a stupid offer.

Although the Oxford forum states a LB who played under Robinson. Calling Walsh a LB is pushing it. He can probably play there for a game or two but he's clearly a CB.

Yeah if that's the justification for the Walsh rumour then I'd doubt it, though I think I remember him playing left back a bit in 14/15 for us.

We have a habit of signing players that *could* be shoehorned into another position.

We are short at both left sided centre half and left back so could be a goer…

It may turn out that you're absolutely right, but let's not kid ourselves that your chairman will reject £1m from Ipswich.

We've already beaten off Championship competition for two singings this summer. Money talks. Ashton has talked of our "marquee" signing is close - I'd happily like to think that's Crooks or Celina, ideally both.

Jacob Mensah and Shane McLoughlin signed yesterday. Jacob previously let go by Palace and Ipswich, Shane not offered a new contract at Wimbledon and also previously with Ipswich.

Any thoughts on these two?

Left back Jaden Brown signed from Huddersfield after a trial. Never heard of him tbh.

Nest up.. keeper! We’re linked with Bailey Peacock-Farrell but I really hope there’s nothing in it. I’ve seen him play several times for Leeds, Burnley and Norn Iron. He’s been shite every time.

Played one senior game I think, I can't remember what he was like. Was part of the team we had that made the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals and one of the two kids we got permission to sell outside of the transfer window to raise the cash needed to finish the season in 2020.

Have you beat off Championship teams to sign a player from League 1 team that expects to be a rival for promotion.

Of course every club needs money coming in after covid and we will sell him if the right bid comes in but judging on the Chairman's and Manager"s press comments, they don't want it to be Ipswich.

The player will ultimately decide what happens, they nearly always do these days.
But Crooks is northern lad, with a lot of family and friends in Yorkshire.
I reckon he would probably prefer Middlesbrough or his old club Huddersfield to relocating to Ipswich,

If you get him, I'll hold my hands up and apologise.

We're being linked with free agent defender Akin Odimayo, who was Swindon's player of the season. He's training with us apparently.

We have signed

,
@nlundulu
Southampton forward Dan Nlundulu has signed on a season long loan

Just signed a 3 year deal at the Saints and played 9? times in the prem I think. He supposedly played well against Shrews in the cup. He is 22, described as pacy and powerful so we shall see.

Oleg McNoleg could have won our player of the season!

Seriously though, he’s a good young talent. Prone to the odd howler, good going forward. Imagine he’d be worth a few quid in a couple of years time.

Scott Fraser gone to Ipswich, undisclosed fee. I'm not surprised as we got him for nothing, have a year on his contract and he was brilliant for us. Cash in while the goings good. Still sad to see him go.

That’s probably the most impressive signing so far in this window for any L1 side IMO. If they get a couple more of that calibre in I can see them winning the league.

I fancy them already, Piggot & Bonne should be a good front two.

It appears that we played hardball until we got the deal that made sense. Sad to see Scotty (v1) leave but now see the logic in getting the replacement Scotty (v2) in first to ease the transition.

Teddy Bishop to MK by the sounds of it.

It feels like MK are having another busy transfer window of ins and outs? Not sure whether that's the case but it feels like that third revolving door period in a row!

We were dangling Michael Jacobs as bait for Bishop, but it doesn't look too have worked. Cross another one off the list.

Yes. We have lost 8? of our regular first team starters from last season. OK we have some good people come in but also a few who could flop. No different from many other teams I suppose. Basically, anyone offers real pennies and we will sell.

Martin said last season was transitional. It seems this one isn't going to be much different.

I really like this one. We're certainly going to score goals this season, if nothing else! This signing seemingly doesn't end our interest in Crooks, either.

Piggot and Fraser scored 34 last season combined. Add in the likes of Norwood, Bonne & Rakeem Harper amongst others, we're looking strong. Huge overhaul may take time to bed in, though.

You can't argue with a strike rate of one in three in a side that struggled every season he was with us but I don't think Pigott is as good as other fans seem to think he is. I'd be surprised if the competition from Championship clubs for him was that serious, at least from any who saw him as a regular starter. He'll certainly score goals in League One but has real weaknesses - particularly in the air where after most attempts to win a header you'll see him sitting on the deck waving his arms around appealing for a free kick he's never going to get because he's simply been outmuscled. On the other hand some of his close control is amazing and he can pick a long pass from deep so there is more to him than goals. I wish him luck because he was great for us and don't begrudge him the chance to earn more and have a shot at promotion but if he doesn't get off to a flyer he's the sort of player frustrated fans with high expectations will get on the back of quickly.

McLoughlin at Morecambe is a bit of a surprise - I'd have thought he'd end up in League Two. Extremely busy, energetic and hardworking but very inconsistent. Once every so often you wonder why he doesn't start every week. And then the next game you see exactly why. Buzzes around like a wasp but generally has no sting.
