Difference being that we played him as a wingback, Sunderland played him as a fullback.
Agreed, plus his season for us was in league two and he played in league 1 for Sunderland. I am not sure he is a league 1 FB, or certainly not a top half team.

North of the border, the press are linking us with a £200k move for Dundee United LB Jamie Robson.

There's no fucking way we're gonna break our transfer record on a LB who has a year left on his deal. That kinda money is daft for us full stop, never mind during a pandemic when most of us are looking after the pennies.

Nathan Holland (West Ham) and Gavin Whyte (Cardiff) have both returned to Oxford on season long loans. Got some very good options out wide now with Billy Bodin, Ryan Williams, Joel Cooper and Dan Agyei already in the squad.

Heard the same over here, he’s been training with us still this pre-season. Excellent player even if he does end up with you guys.

Great signing for Portsmouth, possibly the best lb in the league, expected him to move to the championship as that's where he should be playing, wish him well next season just not against us

A rumour on our message board that the member of the Trialist cousinhood who played RB for 90 mins against Oldham on Friday was Hadji Mnoga of Pompey. Had the odd first team game last season. Is he any good and is he likely to be available on loan/permanent basis?

Don't know who john is tbh, but ogilvie has been outstanding for 2 seasons now and I'm shocked he hasn't moved to the championship

Very highly rated here. Would purely be a loan, although we aren't in a position to let anyone go at the moment and I thought he had covid after playing Chelsea u23s on Tuesday

That is fair enough i know very little about a lot of lge 1 players
John has been a bit part player for a number of clubs but he has 20 premiership games for Cardiff 26 for Rangers in the Scottish pl. 40 odd games in the championship for Swansea/Barnsley 15 lge 1 games for chesterfield at the start of his career. He signed on loan for us in January and was proberbly the best l/b in league 2 for the final 25 games.........4 full Wales caps
ps went on loan to Sunderland 2 seasons back and never played yet got slated as crap by Sunderland fans when we signed him. Nothing new there they once signed a left back who had previously played for us who they also said was crap a certain Marcus Alonso

I'm surprised Ogilvie didn't go to the championship. I thought Gills turned down multiple bids in the summer and January. Any reason he's not picked up a club until one week before the season started?

I remember him going to Sunderland and it seemed a massive signing with his CV. Not sure if it was fitness or whatever, but he seems to have been at alot of clubs on loan and not settled anywhere.

Sounds like john could be good at this level, but the way ogilvie has been for the last 2 years I really am amazed he will still be playing in league one next season, out of the players that left us this year he is the one that I'm most gutted at losing and I'm sure that's the case for all gills fans

Was rumoured we turned down several bids from Blackburn over the last 2 windows that's where I thought he would end up

In talks to sign Wolves forward Theo Corbeanu on loan. Sounds like he can play anywhere along the front line and very highly rated by their fans.

Marvin Johnson apparently had a medical on Thursday, expected to be announced soon.

We were really poor going forward against Huddersfield yesterday so both well needed.

Apparently signing Robbie Burton from Dynamo Zagreb on loan. Was Arsenal u23 captain for a while and moved to Zagreb. Also a forward who was supposed to be the next big thing in the premier league but had a bad couple of years.

A six figure fee has been agreed with Rochdale for midfielder Ollie Rathbone.
It's not been announced at our end yet but we have replaced 6ft 4" Crooks with 5ft 7" Ollie.
I hope he can jump.
One thing's for sure, he will enjoy playing at the AESNYS all Rochdale players do. We always lose to Rochdale.
Any thoughts 'Dale fans

Marcos Alonso was fantastic for Sunderland, gets nothing but praise from us.

Declan John never got a look in due to Denver Hume tbh so we couldn’t judge him. Plus Parkinson was manager who would rarely change his team and had his faves.

Very good player, talented on the ball but also works his socks off. Deserves his move up the leagues.

I assume we will have the usual sell-on clause, so hope he gets promotion with you, impresses in the Championship and gets sold for Big Money...

George Hirst on loan to Pompey. Stats arent great with 31 apps and 0 goals or assists for Rotherham in the Championship, but most appearances were from the bench.

Hopefully he’s good!

Hopefully his attitudes better than when he was at Wednesday! Wanted to be playing first team and earning daft money (for his age) at the time when we had Fletcher, Hooper, Joao, Rhodes and Forestieri as options. Ended up leaving to go to Leicester via their Belgian affiliate side which meant we got nothing for him. Left a bit of a sour taste especially as his dad was advising him.

He never really got going here, even when he he was given a chance he never really grabbed it.

He will run the channels and his control is mostly decent.

His youth pedigree suggests he will come good at some point but he never got into too many scoring positions with us.

Maybe he will do well in League 1 but he certainly didn't cut it in the Championship.
Would I have wanted him back here?
It's a no from me but he will no doubt score against us and Wednesday.

Manager yes, but we've probably got better cover up front with Eisa, Watters and Parrott. Cameron Jerome was a great leader but not prolific and I expect plenty of goals from the supporting midfield again.

We’ve just announced George Byers on a permanent deal from Swansea.

Any good Pompey fans?
