Wednesday, Pompey and Motherwell in for Tariq Uwakwe from Chelsea supposedly. I think he’s a left mid/wing back and he spent pre season with us before going back to Chelsea. We are in need of an actual wing back so it makes sense we’re in again.

We've released Kieran Agard who we signed on a short term contract in September.
3 goals in 16. My feeling is that at the moment his level is league 2 than 1, where I think he will do well. Clearly a good influence within the dressing room if Scheuy’s comments are true.

He's a top bloke in general, but League 2 has been his level for a couple of years now.

Magennis is done and we're trying to bring in another striker to boot. Makes sense as I don't expect to see Wyke in a Wigan shirt again, whilst Richardson doesn't seem to fancy Stephen Humphrys.

That’s ok then seeing as we’ve just signed him

Unexpectedly played for us (and scored) last night in the Pizza Cup, which was surprising. Perhaps a deal is not as close as we thought?

Also, Paul Downing loan deal is pretty much done, but apparently not going to Donny?
Downing was pretty much ruled out by McSheffrey straight away so not surprised he isn’t coming, we’ve signed Agard so the Jacobs rumour may have been hot air

Makes sense, he'll do well for them in League 2 next year.

Agard was brilliant for us especially in the League 1 promotion 2013-14 and he's done altight for Bristol City and MK Dons.

He will obviously have lost a bit of speed (he used to get a lot of solo goals, running away from defenders) but I think he will still score, given the chances.
It's just whether you have a midfield to supply him.

No doubt he'll score against us when we come to the Eco Power in a few weeks time grrrr.
Got my tickets today BTW.

I hope so but not just against yourselves, getting out of the mess we are in is nigh on impossible but giving it a bloody good go could see us start next season with the confidence needed to get back up.

Twitter rumour suggesting a loan at Rochdale for Paul Downing. Maybe because he knows our management team (Stockdale & Shan) from his younger days at WBA??

Aston Villa youngster Cameron Archer is wanted on loan by a fair few L1 side and a couple of Championship Clubs by the sounds of it, including us.

Us and Shrewsbury linked with Nsiala who is set to join Fleetwood in a permanent deal. I can only assume we wanted a loan to lose out to Fleetwood.

Confirmed Crichlow from Huddersfield, via Swindon recently. Hopefully his defence is an upgrade on Gillesphey.

Kane Hemmings capable of doing it in League 2? We have singed him from Burton for an undisclosed fee on a 2.5 year deal.

Really sad to see Romoney go to be honest. He played for us left of centre in a back 3 and was really good. Relatively fast, comfortable on the ball, and decent in the air. All the attributes you need to play the way we do and it's going to be a big loss for us.

Blackburn Centre-Half Hayden Carter on loan is the latest rumour. Starting to wonder if the club are just putting out gossip to distract us from the fact that we're not bringing anyone in?

Another loan? Jesus wept. Half our first team are bloody loanees.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with him as a goalkeeper but however good any of our loanees are, come the end of the season the team is going to be ripped apart and will have to be rebuilt. I understand it if say Twine gets sold for a good sum, thats the nature of lower league football economics but to build a team so reliant on loans to me seems pointless.

Oh well, rant over. :shut:

Oh, what would I give for an incoming loan player. Any player, really.

Seriously though, isn't 5 loanees the limit?

Aren't most league one clubs maxed out with loanees? I know we are. Seems to be the way, these days. We've got three first team regulars and one on the cusp. Sending the other back but likely to replace him with another first team regular. It's not particularly healthy but it can work.

We did similar last season with loans, and then sold Grant and Edun on top of that. We've tried to be less reliant on loans this season.

We've had three this season (one loan in, one out in January).

Fleetwood, with already having one of the worst defences in the league, have signed Nsiala from Ipswich, which can't help their cause? He's a liability at the back whenever I've seen him play.

He must have something about him that we never see against us because he's been around L1 level a number of years now.
