Haven't a clue what he is like but I'd take social media comments from Sunderland fans with a pinch of salt, considering plenty of them seemed to want Alex Neil sacked after 2 games and the players never seemed to be good enough.

I'd forgotten all about Donald Love until I read this. He was abysmal for us. One of the many, many awful signings Sam Ricketts made when with us.

If he's your first choice RB, then you're in big trouble unfortunately. The lad has atleast 3/4 mistakes in him per game, shouldn't be a FL player let alone a League 1 player in all honesty.

Heneghan, Wilks and Stockdale all set to be confirmed ASAP

Wilks is one of those players who's very effective at L1 level, almost seems too good at times, but can't quite seem to cut it in the Championship for some reason.

Just seen Hiram Boateng has gone to Mansfield. Surprised he didn’t get a L1 club to be honest.

I don't think Boateng has played that many times against us but when he did, I could never quite work him out. You always felt there was more to come from him but never quite saw it.

I think Longstaff will end up in L1. No good for team that thrives off a high press, but he did do well via goals and assist but it disrupted our midfield too much to fit him in.

There was talks in March/April time that we were having a look at him. Not heard/seen anything since then.

Appleton and the recruitment team have signed a few players on 3 year deals and then hardly play them.
All very strange.

Maybe we've found our niche - sign on frees, don't play them, send them out on loan to develop and sell!

We're signing Charles Vernam from Bradford when his contract expires. Aside from being an attacking player and being in L1 before with Burton, I couldn't tell you anything about him.

He's one who's been mentioned for a few weeks and is a Lincoln lad so presumably that made his decision a little easier.

He's Bradford's best player and one they were desperate to keep. Good signing I would say. I would have liked vale to have been in for him but we don't seem to be over active in the transfer market at the moment !

No even rumours are quiet at the moment, Telford has been linked for a couple of weeks but seems to have been everywhere! and the lad from Bristol City (Brittan?) but not much else doing he rounds.

Dons and Charlton want Barry from Villa, while we’ve apparently won the race to sign Jack Tucker from Gillingham. They’d be two excellent signings.

Edit: seems the Charlton link is wrong, I hope that means it’s just us in for him then and it’s not just a bogus rumour.

I’m really not sure how tribunal compensation works but if it goes down that route then I wouldn’t bank on a quick payday. Twine’s fee was decided in January I think and we signed him on the 8th June.

If it's a tribunal then yeah, it'll be a while. Clubs can still negotiate a fee to prevent having to go to a tribunal though, and I wonder if we might do that to get the cash in the bank earlier, even if it is a little bit less than we might get through tribunal.

Davis is ok but nothing special. Will get stuck in (hence why he’s always injured) but you’ll see mostly sideways and backwards passes from the lad, seems too scared to attack or play a direct ball into an attacking area the majority of times. Thought he’d end up in League 2 so I’m surprised you boys have signed him after promotion. He’s not shit but don’t expect much is what I’m saying.

Our press release says we’re negotiating now, but we went to tribunal with Twine so I don’t know. I’d imagine you’d prefer that as you’d probably get more money the longer it drags out and he performs well in the meantime
