Tyreeq Bakinson has signed from Bristol City. Was he any good for you last year, Ipswich fans?

I hope he’s not a replacement for Dele-Bashiru who I think has got massive potential. A few Championship clubs are after him though.

I actually really liked him, wouldn't have minded him back here but we've signed better.

If he's good enough for us he's good enough for you, will do a job.

We've signed ex-Gillingham, Newport, Wimbledon, every other club in the League by the sounds of things, full-back Ryan Jackson

Sensible move with Matty Blair potentially out for a long time and the trialist we were looking at dislocating his shoulder on Tuesday.

Still feel we're a few players short at the moment - another CB, CAM and ST needed along with the GK from Man Utd.

Have just read Nigel Pearson describe him as some who “wants to play on his own terms”.

No sign of a bad attitude or anything?

I'm not sure the ST is a necessity, though one would be nice.

Agree on the other two though, especially CB.

Someone who has just fell foul of the Pearson management style, different players react to different managers and Moore the type to get more from him.

Just as cover for Nlundulu really as we don't really have any other big targets up front. Unless we're planning on Ebanks being in the first team, but I assume he'll go out on loan.

We’re still without a signing, but Taylor has said he still wants 4 or 5 signings this window.

There will be a week, at some point, where everything goes fucking mental on the incoming front.

Aye, hopefully. He’s a bit of a dinosaur now isn’t he, Pearson.

I honestly don’t know who I’d start as our middle 3 at the minute. Obviously Bannan, I really like Adeniran and would struggle to leave him out. It’s a toss up between Vaulks and Byers for the other spot.

Here's some more Ipswich fans thoughts, by and large, positive;

Ebanks will definitely go out on loan, so we'll be starting with May, Nlundulu, Brown and Lloyd.

A small part of me thinks that this may be a breakout season for George Lloyd. He's been in and around the team for so long now, it's easy to forget he's still younger than Alfie was when Donny brought him into the Football League.

Big fan of Ryan Jackson and we've still never replaced him properly. He's got a relatively long throw, although it was always more of a loop so not overly threatening. Quick, strong and pops up with the odd banger.

Our owner, DOF and manager did a Q&A tonight. From what they've said and I assume Exeter are finding the same is some prospective players agents are quoting back up to £6k per week wages. Unsurprisingly we've told them to fuck off and quite rightly. We simply could not sustain that with our current support base. They did say that players we approached at the start of the window where it was a no from them are starting to come back and approach us now.

DC did say the club are sticking to our wage structure which is based more on performance incentives.

Seems like we'll be looking at two on loan, apparently DC has a zoom call with a premier league club tomorrow and then given he quoted bringing in up to seven by the process of elimination that'll be five permanents.

It sounds like we've got Josh Murphy on trial. A position of dire need and a player that was once well-respected.

I wasn't even aware he was out of contract, so no idea what happened to him. He's played with Mendez-Laing before so fits the bill of signing mates of mates. No idea what level he's at now, but surely must be able to still play a little bit!

I'm genuinely very surprised he's found a league club, let alone a League One club.

He was fantastic about 6 or 7 years ago, everything a modern full back should be with his driving runs, energy and pace. Also had a mammoth long throw which I know appeals to Cheltenham over the last few years.

Unfortunately his pace has gone, he can't really defend very well and he's usually knackered by 70 minutes - not ideal.

You should have just done what we have, make room in the budget by getting rid of a few of your better players and then signed mainly unproven ones in League 1 to replace them. Guarantees a lot more excitement/movement to keep things interesting over the summer.

Did he play as a RB or RWB for you? He'll be a RWB in our system which hopefully means he could get away with the defensive side a little more, but a lack of pace isn't ideal in terms of getting up and down the pitch. Hoping it's only a short term solution until Matty Blair returns anyway, although there's some speculation about that we might not see him again at all.

Been there done that the last time we got relegated from this league. Had a squad under Rob Page that had us top 10 and primed for a playoff push before our then owner decided to lowball them all to get them to leave before bringing in a bunch of Carlos Kickaballs from Portugal and the Swedish fifth tier.

It is bloody annoying when the notifications for Vale Twitter go off and it turns out to be flogging some club merchandise rather than announcing a keeper etc.

Oh yeah I remember you doing that, somehow these cheap foreign influxes never really seem to work out when clubs try it. You need to build around a solid spine of experienced EFL players imo.

We haven’t gone to those extremes tbf, it’s more about giving a chance to youngsters/lower league players (and manager) a chance to prove themselves/develop at this level. Whether that will work or not is questionable, we need our smattering of experienced players to really step up.

Better than the teasing cryptic shite ours insists on doing. Better than Ceefax I guess..

Both.

When Harris came in he switched to a 5 at the back as neither of our full backs (Jackson and Tutonda) could be trusted to defend in a back 4.

We could have told you that. He has the positional awareness of me at 3am on a Saturday morning

Jubril Okedina has signed a 3 year contract which is great news. He’ll be the next big money move for us I think. One day he’ll play in the premier league.

I heard how much money he's on at the club the other day. It's an extraordinary figure.

Fuck Steve Evans.

Would have worked with a signing actually called Emmanuel.....maybe..

Somebody on our forum has suggested the video basically represents his name in Gaelic so Emmanuel would be covered by this. Haven't a clue if true and can't be bothered to confirm.

Caleb Taylor, CB, signed on loan from West Brom. Their fans seem to rate him really highly, lots on Twitter saying he should be in their first team squad. Looks like exactly the sort of player we need at the back.

The comments from the Baggies fans are amazing - I've never seen a player so highly rated. Hope he's ready, sounds the perfect replacement for Matty Pollock.
