How many times do us lower league'ers hear that from PL and Championship supporters!

We always hear about them having potential, but I've never heard them saying how they should be in the first team already. Certainly not the players we tend to loan in.

Caleb Taylor, CB, signed on loan from West Brom. Their fans seem to rate him really highly, lots on Twitter saying he should be in their first team squad. Looks like exactly the sort of player we need at the back.
We were linked with him, however his old fella was utterly fucking wank at ours and I was automatically against it based on that.

Oh yeah it’s usually tagged in with how he’ll tear things up at “our level”.

We have signed Yanic Wildschut for an undisclosed fee from CSKA Sofia.

I always wonder how much of their youth teamers these fans actually see in the flesh as well. I wouldn't hazard a guess on any of our kids personally, having not seen them play apart from a few minutes in pre-season. Lots of experts out there though of course...

Very few I suspect will have. I’m the same with our academy lads. The only one I know of that we have is Tommy McDermott nobody had heard of until a Twitter update said he scored in a friendly against Dundee United. That won’t of course stop me from saying to whoever we loan him out to that he is very highly rated and will single-handedly win them their league, just to see what it’s like to be on that side of things more than anything.

Cheltenham fans - What’s Kion Etete like? He’s apparently high on our wish list.

He's fantastic with the ball at his feet. His height fools you into thinking he should be good in the air - he's not. In fact he's the worst player I've ever seen when it comes to aerial battles.

With that being said, if the ball comes to him at chest height or lower, then defenders won't get it off him.

If Willo is out as rumoured for a few weeks he might be leading our line!

Scott Sinclair training with Derby?

He'd probably bag quite a few at this level if he's played down the left.

Henry Lawrence on a season loan from Chelsea. All I know is he is a full back and played last season at AFC.

A third loan signing of the day - Luke Southwood in from Reading.

Apparently, he was our first choice in June, but we couldn't do a deal. Moved on to Matej Kovar from Man Utd but they kept delaying and delaying. Eventually we've told them to shove it, gone back to Reading regarding Southwood and got a deal done.

To be fair I think he improved in the air for the last few games he played. You're right though that he probably didnt win a single header for the first 2 months he was here.

Confirmed that Josh Murphy is with us and is involved today.

Karl Robinson has just said it "isn't a trial". So I can only assume contract discussions are happening and close to completion. KR has managed him before and they trust each other so we could get the best out of him.

Sounding like Alfie Pond is not wanting to play as has had his head turned by Rangers.
He's hardly played for us but if he goes for peanuts that would be a huge blow

Tyreeq Bakinson has signed from Bristol City. Was he any good for you last year, Ipswich fans?

I hope he’s not a replacement for Dele-Bashiru who I think has got massive potential. A few Championship clubs are after him though.
He was ok. When he was good, he controlled the game. When he wasn’t, my god was he bad. Simple 5 yard passes became impossible.

His inconsistency was his main consistency. We never went back for him and I believe we had the option to make it permanent at the end of the loan which probably says it all. Not a bad player but I think he’s not really a player for a team chasing the top 2.

Our main 3 will be Vaulks, Byers and Bannan, he's cover at DM

Surely, we won’t be bullied by Pond and his agent. We’ll have a price for him and until Rangers or anyone else meets it, he’s staying. Seems like he’s been given bad advice as refusing to play or go on loan isn’t going to get him far if we’re being offered peanuts from north of the border. If he ends up going, it’ll be a shame as he seems to be very talented but to be so big time before he’s even broken into the first team is ridiculous

Was an injury prone mess while here.

His career has gone proper west since being a big money signing when Cardiff got to the Prem.

Bit of a rumour we’ll be in for Simpson if we sell McKirdy to Luton. No brainer!

Cheers, glad to see that you think joining a progressive, promotion chasing Oxford means his career is going west!

FWIW he was excellent yesterday, and with Yanic Wildschut looks like they could terrorise League One defences next season.

Robinson did mention off field problems yesterday but as they get on then this may help him. We are also a club that really puts the effort in to support players (think Cam Brannagan and nearly losing his eyesight) such as having an in house Psychotherapist which would help I suspect:

There is some interesting talk between Gary Bloom and Karl Robinson in the new 'Moment of Truth' Podcast on BBC Sounds where they follow KR and Paul Warne in for part of last season's run in.

As Eric Read says, he played well yesterday. As with any signing it will be a wait and see, assuming he actually signs.

Jubril Okedina has signed a 3 year contract which is great news. He’ll be the next big money move for us I think. One day he’ll play in the premier league.

My understanding is that he's already signed. Based on Robbo's comments they seem to imply that he has too.

I think playing for Karl, as opposed to Warnock, McCarthy, and Harris at Cardiff beasting the players would be a breath of fresh air for the lad.

Prem to L1, he'll have gone from about £30k a week to probably less than £5k if he joins you.

He only managed 190 minutes in 12 sub appearances for us last season. Maybe needs to drop to a less intensive league to build himself back up.

Lowe sent him back to Cardiff early and said he didn't meet his standards, so certainly needs to raise his game.

Do you think Troy Parrott could hack it in the Championship?

That would be my understanding based on KR's interview but I'll wait until it is officially announced.
