Do Wycombe need many players though? I've prob not been paying attention but I hadn't noticed many key players leave except Stockdale? My assumption was you had a fairly settled and decent squad?
No, we don’t - I think we’d be *safe* as things stand, but not promotion contenders.

It would be good to have:

* recognised #1 GK - a loan deal for Manyoo’s Nathan Bishop - on loan w Mansfield last season - has been touted for ages, but it seems something’s gone a bit amiss with this. I think decent GKs are easy to come by on loan anyway, but our existing 2 goalies are still v green and unknown quantities

* Lacking strength in depth at CB after we lost Anthony Stewart to Aberdeen. We can make do (and well) with what we have, but if injuries start to kick in, it’ll take the biggest toll here.

* we’re set up to play with a target man but don’t have another option if Vokes gets injured (since Akinfenwa retired). Tricky one though, as no decent striker is going to want to come just as a backup. Could maybe get a long-in-the-tooth journeyman on their way down the leagues, or a bright prospect kid, I guess?

Rumour on our forum is that we’re after Harry Mccirdy from Swindon. Any good Si Robin ?
Depends which one you get. Absolutely dreadful for us plus comes with massive baggage.

Has done well at Swindon last season in fairness, would add some spice when we play each other!

Swindon have got the best out of his undoubted talent. The flip side to him is there’s a reason his previous couple of clubs weren’t that sorry to see the back of him, just got to balance that out I guess.

Wouldn’t let him anywhere near penalties either…

Well he made the EFL2 team of the season. Guess which one he is.

I'd be really surprised if Ipswich go for McKirdy. Seems like the ultimate free-spirit, luxury player. Good when in the mood but infuriating when not (which appears to be quite often).

Doesn't come across as a player particularly committed to the game or whichever club he's at.

Apparently Man U want another keeper in before letting Bishop go...even though they've got 5 goalies already, De Gea and Heaton in the First XI, and three in the stiffs (incl. Bishop)?

Wonder is we are in for Bishop... we are waiting on the current club to sort a keeper before we can sign our new keeper... Most assume is Hladky from Ipswich as he has been linked with us and we have Carlo Nash as keeper coach who was with him at Salford but could be Bishop I guess?

We had the same issue with Utd when trying to get Matej Kovar in. Fortunately, Luke Southwood became available again (he was our first choice apparently) so we told Utd to stuff it and signed him instead.

We've signed central midfielder Lewis Bate on a season loan from Leeds. Played in 3 PL games for them last season.

Word on the street is that we are signing wide man Owen Dale on loan from Blackpool. This one would make sense as we are deficient in that area.

If he signed for them then I reckon within a month, Sam Morsy would shove his head down the toilet in training.

Tbh, most of our fans don’t know if he’ll reproduce last season’s form for us let alone for a new club.

I’m all for letting him go in exchange for a striker plus some cash.

Good times, 4 of ours there including the manager of the year. Shame that 3 of them have fucked off and the other ones crocked, but still.
and you still beat us!
We have just told 3 they have no future here and are no longer training with the club. One of which is Trevor Clarke who signed a new 2 year contract recently :ffs:
Just shows how piss poor we were on Sat when 2 of the starters arent even training with us anymore.
No new signings in over a month now, 2 winnable games have turned into damage limitation games.

Wow! This may be the quickest "newly promoted optimism" to "wheels have come off" in history. 4th of August.
