Wow! This may be the quickest "newly promoted optimism" to "wheels have come off" in history. 4th of August.
Barton keeps saying we will do what needs to be done by the end of the window, but we could have lost 15 points and out of 2 cups by then.
FGR lost their best players (and manager) and still looked far better than us. Still confident we will get better and better but annoying having to suffer what is looking like yet another poor start.

In one of those cups you gave to play us and we are too shy to leave our own half!

FGR were the same on Saturday, until they realised if they attacked us we would fold like a cheap suit

and you still beat us!
We have just told 3 they have no future here and are no longer training with the club. One of which is Trevor Clarke who signed a new 2 year contract recently :ffs:
Just shows how piss poor we were on Sat when 2 of the starters arent even training with us anymore.
No new signings in over a month now, 2 winnable games have turned into damage limitation games.
How on earth does Mr Barton go from 'We are delighted to secure the services of Trevor' to telling the bloke he is surplus to requirements within less than a month? That suggests something is badly wrong somewhere.

More worrying for you, we outplayed Bristol Rovers too.

Is him doing that just a reaction to losing on Saturday? Seems a bit of a chaotic way of managing. Suppose he is in credit for promotion so now is the time to make these kind of moves.

Shit happens on the opening day, in about a months time it will be long forgotten.

Wickham to FGR is ridiculous, he should have retired so many years ago. Poor signing.
He's destined to score on Saturday obviously, but he won't play more than 10 games this season.

And he was destined the be the next England great when he was a youngster with you. Sad really.

Well apparently needs a week or two before coming into contention. But you never know, may get a bench seat. I think this story is ripe for a happy ending. He will be at a club that will appreciate him for his experience. He could be a leader, the premise is good this time. He won't be under quite the same level of scrutiny and expectation. He's survived a run of games last season, so I reckon he has a super chance to make a decent contribution. Classic recycling.

He's a fucking great bloke and I wish him nowt but the best, his missus and father in law are big big Wednesday fans and his son has been saddled with us as his club an all.

Signed Tom Lowery on a 3 year deal. Was always a cracking little midfielder for Crewe.

Yep, he was too good for L1, you could see that pretty early on in of his home debut.

He's only 18 I think but physically he's well, well beyond his years. Very quick, strong and good dribbler. Final ball is decent enough for someone of his age. Defensively needs improving at times but that's something that'll come with experience. His pace will get him out of trouble anyway.

I know these are best bit type videos but it gives you a good indication of where he's at:

We're aiming to sign four more players - three loans, one permanent. The loans will be attacking players and I'm assuming (hoping) the permanent will be a midfielder.

That's exactly what we thought last season, and only two touches of the ball were useful in half a season.

He's a bloke scared of his own body, getting injured in March after being with us for just over a month.

We've apparently signed Will Ferry from Southampton on a permanent deal. A LWB who played at Crawley on loan last season - aside from that I know literally nothing about him.

EDIT: Just realised I could have simply tagged Casey here

And I bet he's not the last ferry to come out of Southampton....... sorry, it's a slow day.

Kornell McDonald apparently is training with us, right back which we’ve got a few players in that position so would be an odd one but we are looking at a development type squad also so could be for that?

Looks like we're signing winger Jordan Garrick on loan from Swansea (Kennedy suggested post match that one will be in tomorrow), been at Plymouth and Swindon on loan recently. Thoughts Plymouth fans? And Indian Dan and Agombar stool?

We've re-signed Jacob Bedeau but this time on a permanent from Burnley, which I wasn't expecting. Presumed we'd get him in on another loan so this is a massive signing for us.

I liked him. Can't remember huge amounts about him but thought he was handy. Sorry I've not made him sound much more useful than a screwdriver but I think there is a decent footballer there in Garrick.

Richard Keogh coming in from Blackpool on a deal until the end of the season - to act as cover for Woolfenden and Edmundson who will remain our first choice CB pairing.

Keogh coming in means Corrie Ndaba will be going out on loan to a L1 or L2 side.

Difficult to judge any player in THAT team. Seemed decent enough. Looks like he improved at Plymouth, too. Sound signing.

Not sure what he's like but hopefully we had a bit of pace and is direct and can take players on as that's something we're missing.

I think he is a decent player. Left footed, has a long throw and will get stuck in too. What happened last night I don't know but he should do well.

I'd play him on the left of a three man midfield but he is comfortable as a left back, left wing back as well.
