Gordon would be very underwhelming. I get Morecambes line on Stockton. They’ll be hoping he knuckles down and scores the goals to keep them up but it just depends on whether he is going to sulk now. Suppose if they look nailed on relegation come January they might look to sell on for whatever they can get then albeit will be a lot lower than the offers now.

The players we’ve brought in so far by and large look like they can contribute in some form or other but if we don’t add another one up top it’s not really been as good as we’d have liked.

Not sure if we’ll see any outgoings. Only one I’d think about is if Sammy Robinson is third in the pecking order at RWB maybe send him out on loan to L2 or conference. Think it’s too early with Tommy McDermott to do the same.
Dion Charles got sidelined by Accy last season after refusing to sign a new deal, he got a move in January, wonder if Morecambe will go that route.

Panuche Camara going to Ipswich for 500k. Might leave us in the market for a midfielder. No great loss, hasn’t featured this season and out of contract at the end of the season. Good player though.

It's because we have one style of play which Cole is essential to, if he goes then we're pretty much done already in terms of relegation and I think everyone including the club know it. We just don't look like we'll ever score consistently without him.

There's no guarantee he's going to score a load this season if he stays, he just hit a purple patch last season I think. If he downs tools after the window closes then that's his own fault, he knows we've saved his career 3 times in the past already. I think it's more his agent spouting off rather than him, Cole's been back in training recently.

We have to try and keep him, if he leaves for nothing next Summer, then at least we'll have more time to replace him. Anything that happens now is just out of pure panic.

But Ipswich aren't spending money.....

If this one does come off it's a great bit of business by Argyle imo. Don't get me wrong as you say Ipswich get a good player (not sure he'd start for them though?) but we've moved on from him since last season and the contract situation - to get that kind of fee and him and the question marks that come with him out of the squad for the year is excellent.

Will wait to see before judging Musgrove as the majority of players we sign were pants for others if you believe what other clubs fans say - sometimes the glove fits.

Jephcott to either Exeter, Swindon or Forest Green on loan would be great.

Sold Tyreece Simpson for 500k. Using the money straight away to sign Camara. Great business. In terms of transfer fees, we must be in a profit this year having got a reported 2 million + from Downes.

Talk in the Italian press that Vale have completed a £100k deal (possibly a loan fee) to bring back Dennis Politic.

If true I am absolutely chuffed to bits! Absolute game changer that we've desperately missed even second half of last season. Single handedly won us games from the bench during his first spell.

Exactly. Some on here refuse to believe that’s possible though for whatever reason

£100k? For a loan? That’s a huge amount isn’t it.

Seems like a deal that suits all parties. We get a quality player (from what little I know of him, he’s liked) to strengthen the squad. He gets a move away which he seems to want for whatever reason? You get money for someone who would be going for free anyway.

One of those moves that just makes sense for everyone.

What’s he like? Attacking midfielder isn’t he?

Be very surprised if our loan fee for Celina last year was less than 500k.

I don’t mind loan fees in general because it usually means a club can get a player they’ve no chance of signing on a permanent for financial reasons (as ended up the case with us for Celina this summer) but still get the player for a year.

More of a box to box midfielder. He doesn’t really suit our current system which has two DMs and two AMs.

Excellent engine, will run all day and will always put 100% in. Just lacks a bit of ability in the final 3rd technically. But his work rate and determination make up for that. He’ll frustrate at times but you’ll also love him.

Fairly quiet with us so far. There were some early rumours that Ronan Curtis was off to Swansea but doesn't sound like it's happening.

We may have some irons in the fire but probably can't move unless we get Ryan Tunnicliffe or Kieron Freeman out the door. Haji Mnoga may be off on loan to a League Two or National League club.

Looks like all the “miss you” and “come home Dennis” tweets he’s been getting ever since he’s left might just have paid off if it’s true (and let’s be honest Italian media wouldn’t have any reason to mention us otherwise).

Given Cremonese have been naming about 14 substitutes each game in Serie A and he hasn’t been one of them it makes sense for him to move. I think Dennis was out of contract there at the end of this season so maybe we are paying that as a way of getting around us not having to break our wage structure for a permanent player if that makes sense?

What’s the deal with Simpson? Looked a good player at Swindon but then seemingly never got a look in with you after being recalled and now gone upwards to the Championship.

Could be with the option to sign permanently at the end of it.

Be a great signing for us, he was always one who wasn't great when starting but off the bench could change a game single handedly (Barrow/Orient/Burton in the Cup) for example.

Talked to an official at ours before about loan fees actually, they said in our case we don’t tend to pay them as it’s generally a case of a young player getting minutes/experience, whilst we pay a percentage of his wage.

In some cases it has been structured based on how much they’ve played too, so the more game time the lower the percentage of wage we need to pay, apparently.

I suppose if it’s a more senior player or there’s a view to a permanent a loan fee makes sense, although at this level 6 figures seems pretty extortionate.

We’re still trying apparently…

I’d be amazed if we get anyone in now. If that’s the case we are up against it massively.

Sam Cosgrove signed on a season long loan, gives us a different dimension in attack, hopefully we can get a tune out of him
Played on loan for us at Wimbledon at the back end of last season. To put it bluntly he is hopeless. Shrewsbury fans warned us about him when he came to us . I doubt you'll find a single Shrewsbury or Wimbledon supporter that has a good word to say about him.

Definitely a box to box midfielder - best attribute is running he will go all day. He also has these Inspector Gadget extending legs that seem to come from nowhere and hook the ball off opponents, a real nightmare to play against in the centre. As Leon says he lacks a bit of composure and technical ability in the final third but that could come with time.

As a man though he is the kindest and most humble character you could come across in the world of football, which is really what endeared him to most Argyle fans. If it all goes through I'm sure you'll get that from his first interview.

The one thing we know with Dennis is he can change a game off the bench. Throw him on and tell him to just make something happen. Needs to find a way to develop into a starter but probably needs us to go 3-4-3 to make it happen.

Bit piss poor of Fabrizio Romano not to be the one to break this I must say. Should have been all over a major story like this.

It’s been confirmed that our key CB Udoka Godwin-Malife will need surgery on his hamstring injury he sustained 3 weeks ago and will be out long term. Given our lack of numbers (and quality) in that area surely we have to get someone in that position in today, along with Jephcott hopefully.

We have signed two loans so far, Josh Coburn from Middlesbrough and Sylvester Jasper from Fulham.

Happy with them but need more especially in defence

We’ve signed striker Rob Street on loan from Crystal Palace for the season.

Another new signing is imminent. No idea who it could be. Linked with Coke Stockton, Macauley Bonne, Elliot Nevitt, Christian Saydee and Adam Virtue.

Christian Saydee it is. Underwhelmed but hopefully they lad proves me wrong. Most likely a back up.

Gassan Ahadme & Panutche Camara then, that should conclude our business.

Neither will be starters to begin with unless they force themselves into the side at some point, but more depth is always positive & a good use of the Simpson funds.
