The big boys are certainly, as expected, throwing the cash around. Leaves us minnows to sign up the dregs and hope one of them is good.

Schumacher confirms we’ve had a bid rejected for Knibbs and ‘might’ go back in for him in the summer.

Feels a bit like playing Football Manager in real life at the moment with the business we’re doing, great to see we are showing so much intent though!

Our DOF Neil Dewsnip has said on a podcast today two more are imminent.

One could be Sean Morrison, he’s a Plymouth lad and just left Cardiff, although I’m not sure we need him.

He's barely played for you this season! All our centre halfs are out so we need one on a months cover at least, could be a short loan deal.

Because he’s been injured. We’ve already got 2 centre half’s out long term, we won’t leave ourselves short.

I’d been told about ten months ago he fancied finishing his career with us.

Not sure where he fits in. Not mobile enough to play as one of the two outside centre backs and it’d be very harsh on Dan Scarr if Morrison started playing ahead of him.

I do rather agree, especially after his long lay off, but I was merely put what I was told how he possibly saw things. And that was back in March, and his view may have changed since then.

In an interview this afternoon, Kennedy explained that Garrick leaving has freed up a space for "Harry", so it seems that we have a signing in the bag. In a fan based article today, Harry Boyes was a random name thrown into it as a suggested signing who's a left wing back by the looks of it and an area we'll be looking to improve. So that's either a coincidence or someone knows something.

Just gone back to Sheffield United from a loan spell at FGR.

We’ve offered Jordan Willis the option to train with us now he’s left Sunderland, hasn’t played for 2 years but could be decent if he gets fit.

He got injured on his debut and was out til November. We are short at centre half ourselves

We have an ITK poster who has usually been spot on. he got told off by the club and no longer posts names. however, he just said that today could be quite exciting! So I assume we have one or more coming in today.

He gets to leave Plymouth and the hicks? That would excite anyone.

Told off by the club?
We had that problem at Rovers until Barton cleared them out and kept everything in-house. Now we get zero rumours on transfers and injuries which is boring for us but good for the club

I think Jay Matete and Sean Morrison will be signing today.

My main hope of Plymouth slipping up was that the squad depth wasn’t as good as ours but with these signings I’m a bit less hopeful!

Please don’t get them done before the midday deadline for our game tomorrow!! I was thinking that Plymouth have a good first XI but were the most likely to tail off because of squad depth but you are having a real go and all of a sudden your squad looks really really good.

Looks like McGuinness will play tomorrow against Newcastle then go back to Cardiff.

Gutted. Need another centre back or 2 in.

Probably a good time to play them if they chuck lots of new players in. Its not like they werent doing too badly before

Whilst he's a Plymouth lad I'm not sure we'll be blowing wage budget on Morrison - he'd command a far higher salary than we pay and hasn't played for a year, it's definitely not the kind of signing that matches the current philosophy. Though we do need another cb imo. Pay as you play 6 monther to prove fitness would be good? I'm skeptical on that one.

Matete would be a very welcome addition but it would be on loan - closing the door on any possible Whittaker return as all our loan spaces would be used. (Unless we send one back later in the window to make room!)

that was broadly what he said a while back. he clearly did know as he consistently got things right and he was the only one. I know as a fan you want such snippets, but I am also pleased that most of our signings are bolts from the blue.

I do rather agree about Morrison. I no longer work with his friend, but I don’t think I’d ask them anyway. It will all come out in the wash.

I think we can have up to 8 loanees but only 5 can be in the Matchday squad. Personally I doubt we’d go to six as means one will always be unhappy. If Morgan ever does come back, I am assumed it will be in the summer, which yesterday Schuey implied was his hope.
