Our Twitter just put a teaser out saying signing incoming. Rumours it’s Shola Shoretire… fingers crossed. Man Utd youth player of the year, fa youth cup winner and played for the senior team at 17… must have something about him.
Confirmed.....by everyone

He was also on the 2022 nxtgen list of the best 50 players under the age of 19 in the world. So he can’t be bad. Hopefully he’s ready for the step up to men’s football. Definitely a talent.

Love it if it went tits up

It can't, really. Not in the short term, anyway.

If we fail to get promoted this season whilst it would be deemed a failed season, it wouldn't bring about any financial concerns whatsoever and Mckenna will be here next season unless something catastrophic happened to our results. We'd need to fail for at least 3 seasons with similar investments for the board to start getting twitchy I imagine, and even then I can't see it. Multibillionaires, and that.

Apparently signing Matt Macey on loan from Luton as we currently have no senior GK.. Looks like he did well at Hibs, but Plymouth fans hate him

Rumour has it that the deal to sign Matty Pollock is either on hold, or off altogether as one of Watford’s CBs picked up an injury this week…If so, it’s frustrating and a blow for us.

He’s not played this season in the league for us, just one game in the league cup where he looked shaky for me.

We had him on loan a few years ago when we were in league 2 and I thought he didn’t look great so was extremely surprised we signed him in the summer (and with a fee at that).

He is very tall so that’s nice but I’ve never been impressed with him. We must have seen something to have signed him twice though

I've been told we're looking at signing Kieran Sadlier from Bolton - Probably on loan.

Don’t think we’ll let him go until we have at least another striker in after Bodvarssons injury as he can play in lots of different positions. If he goes we’d probably need 2 more players in.

We have signed Max Dean from Leeds on a permanent. Obviously a player Jackson knows but anyone else heard anything about him?

I think it’s inevitable that you’ll get out of this league. You’re throwing championship money about in league one. It blows everyone else out of the water.

What will be interesting to see is what you’ll do in the championship. Spending equal money in that league doesn’t guarantee anything. You’d need to be spending premier league money to have the same impact as this level.

Are the yanks that committed with deep enough pockets?

The thing with Macey for us was his indecision and poor communication with his defence, They became very unsure where to stand, go and what to do. And so a lot of very avoidable goals were scored. Howlers and comedy goals were the result. Maybe he has improved his decision making and communication through experience, because by golly he needed to. I seem to remember he was a decent shot stopper, and with his height okay at corners, the issue was when the opponents were running towards our box.

Great. Anyone who saw the first goal we let in at Bolton last week would see that "unsure where to stand, go and what to do" describes our defence already.

We desperately needed a keeper though after West Brom unexpectedly recalled Josh Griffiths and clearly not-yet-ready backup Oluyawemi was thrown into the team. I guess there were very few available options in the timescale we had.

We have a newly installed, inexperienced head coach with a limited budget in charge of a failing team at the fag end of the window so I fully expect more similarly uninspiring signings.

I agree on Oluyawemi not being quite ready and he dropped the cross for our second but other that I thought he looked a decent prospect. Made some really good saves. Think he needs a year or 2 out on loan in league 2/conference.

Look he has some basic attributes, he would not have been on Arsenal’s books all those years, and I don’t remember him dropping many, it was just his skittishness. He was young, and it is possible those things he was calamitous for, he has worked through. Anyway, our defence were sure where to stand etc until Macey turned up, so you are already at that stage. Things can only go up.
I did wonder whether the deal with Arsenal was whether he had to play a set number of games, because when Lutheran, a not so naturally good keeper player, was playing the defence instantly improved. Anyway good luck, he may well be fine, and he is a tall unit, so will make some good saves and command crosses (though he took eons to get down low like all goalies his size).

Michael Morrison apparently had a medical yesterday and not in the Pompey squad so nailed on.

Confirmed by our local press he's signing for you.
To be fair, I’d be happy with Jim Morrison at the moment.

Morro started with us so it’s always going to be a popular signing. Just hope he hits the ground running.

Really really hope I’m wrong but I’m not convinced this is a good thing, he’s old and will no doubt be on a few £££, saying that after watching okedina trying to play today he really can’t be no worse.
