We lost a few to the big clubs and it’s frustrating, believe one broke through at Reading and we lost Joel Ndala to Man City who’s now looking a very hot prospect.

Hopefully we have some decent clauses in there but probably nominal!

Our youth team is looking decent again though after some poor years.
Same. It seems that its only Exeter who get decent fees for their youngsters

Yeah I think sides like Exeter, Crewe with a track record and set up can command far bigger fees it seems.

Id rather they limited the number of loan players allowed to play rather than allow clubs to pile up with players they have no chance of signing.
We have benefitted in the past, but having half a team of someone elses players doesnt sit right with me.
It wont change though as its all done to benefit the top clubs who hoover up all the talent
I think that is already the case with 5 loan signings in any match day squad
Any players who do well get sold on......thats life in the third tier of English Football

Er, no, we still get ripped off. Chelsea had Ampadu for a pittance and others leave without playing much for us (Ben Chrisene, Alfie Pond).

Thats what i mean, its too many.
Pretty sure it was less than that not so long ago. Just so the big clubs can have 80 players and still get them games.
Half of the outfield players being on loan is ridiculous

Considering you arent too far away from us you do have quite a few that go for very decent money far more than most in these parts.
I cant remember us getting much for anyone in the 40 years ive watched Rovers. Scott Sinclair had add-ons that built up but apart from that we've been mugged

Cheltenham fans, how likely is it that we might be able to tempt you with a little slice of FA Cup money in exchange for the permanent services of George Lloyd? He's been great for us and is a ready made replacement for the Luton bound McAtee.

On the surface, I'd say very likely. He's not in Wade's plans as far as I can see.

With that being said, we'll probably release Christian Norton and Charlie Brown, and we may lose Alfie May for a bit of bunce. Which then leaves us with a strike force of Aidan Keena and Will Goodwin. A confident and happy George Lloyd might just be what we need.

I've maintained for ages (it's on the Robins Report Podcasts if no-one believes me) that Lloyd just needed to get away from the club to get some football and some goals. He's doing that now, so I'd love for him to come back all guns blazing. He's also local - and everyone loves a local lad doing well.

That could well be the deciding factor in all this. Even if you're willing to let him go, it's one thing for a youngish lad to come on loan up here for a few months (and fair play to him for doing that) but to relocate permanently all that way is a different story. Sounds like whatever happens, we'd either have to pay a decent wedge or wait to see what business you do in the summer before being able to sign him but good to know it's not a total non-starter at least. He's a very good L2 forward, in my opinion. Good enough for a significant role in a promotion chasing side. Plays exactly how you said he did when he signed for us on loan and is a very Paul Hurst player. If we don't/can't sign him then I hope he gets a fair crack with you in L1 next season.

They gave us £200k for Ben Tozer because he had a long throw - can't wait for the millions they give us for Alfie

I endorse this move but I'd rather it happen on an emergency basis and gets sorted out before we play Cheltenham.

Love how the US media are displaying what’s happening at Wrexham as an “underdog story”. I hope it all goes tits up and they have another 15 years in non league personally.

Yeah it is hardly the fairytale story when they pump millions in, similar to the "fairytale" that was Salford, although whilst the Ammies appear to have hit their ceiling, I could see Wrexham coming straight through and potentially being challengers at this level.

I think theres a bit of the green eyed monster there. I'd love if we had owners like Wrexham have. They are actually building the club. Not like our wont spend on the team Yankees

No, they’re building a global brand which couldn’t be further from the community club I want (and Wrexham fans used to want).

Ryan Hardie is supposedly on our radar, on a free transfer. I'd be a little underwhelmed but looks like we'll be needing three striker signings this summer.

Just doesn't look like he has the physical attributes to cause much damage in the Championship. Little scope for improvement too.

Please take him. He always scores against us.

He’s not good enough for the championship is my honest opinion.

If we do go up we need to strengthen up top (and everywhere else bar GK tbh).

Just an observation - I've just seen Connor Wickham score the first goal at Cardiff's win today. I didn't know he'd gone there. Weird when you think neither us or FGR gave him a new contract.

We're being loosely linked with the return of Anthony Scully who only signed for Wigan in the summer. Only managed about 30 minutes for them this season I think!

He’s still our top scorer this season!

Tbf he was only here on a short term deal to get fit and wasn’t interested in an extension in January apparently.

Second choice 'keeper Jordan Wright has signed a new two year deal.

That's him and Sam Long under contract for next season, but I still think (hope) he'll be on the bench again in 2023/24. We have a good record of loan GK's recently and it'd be stupid to deviate from that IMO.

The King of Shithousery, Nathan Smith, has signed a 2 year contract. He's one of the best no nonsense defenders in the league and his football ability has improved this season. He just needs some decent players alongside and in front of him. Rarely less than a 7 out of 10 and always gives his absolute all.

Josh Key supposedly being tracked by a whole host of Championship clubs.
Out of contract, but he will attract a fee as under 24.

Chuffed. Be about set for a testimonial at the end of it won’t he! The only real shithouse we’ve got and has had 4 red cards and 2 retrospective bans to players lashing out at him in 18 months!

One from the academy. Hopefully steps up more consistency, had Ladapo and Coburn in his pocket past two games but didn’t in the reverse fixture so needs to get that and we’ve got a solid defender at this level.

Wonder what your thoughts are about Ricardo Santos being picked for the EFL Division team of the season three years on the trot???????????

Hard for us to have an opinion as he always struggles against us!

We’ve got Big Dunc’s son Cameron Ferguson training with us, 20 year old Newcastle striker.

Also arranged a ‘bounce game’ midweek friendly v Mass Elite Academy next Wednesday to look at some of our squad players and triallists.
