I didn't realise York City had become rich all of a sudden. They've just signed the top goal scorer of the Scottish Championship last season from Ayr for an undisclosed fee rumoured to be around 250k.

He's one I would have liked up here, oh well..

Wellens has said we still need two (maybe three players) - We need another striker and another wide forward, this would take us to six attacking players which we had last season.

The third signing will be cover at centre back due to Adam Thompsons on going injury issues, with him currently out until the end of September it seems. This signing will almost certainly be a youngster on loan.

We're still chasing Macualey Bonne. I wouldn't be suprised if he ended up at Reading now they can sign players again, as they're in the South and would likely pay him well.

Infact I'm expecting one or two more experienced players to end up at Reading now tbh.................

Bonne lives in Ipswich and from what I was told, he wants to stay in the area. So, I think he may actually prefer you over Reading. The commute to Reading is awful, whereas to Leyton is very simple.

I very much doubt we were in for Smith, he clearly had his sights higher. But why on earth would you want to sign for Reading? They don't even like football down there, they can't stick to the rules and are just taking the piss. Shouldn't be able to make signings, particularly one of the leading free agents at this level. A proper 'no mark' club. If I was a pro footballer, it would be the last place I would go.

Been told we’re exploring the possibility of signing Martyn Waghorn.

Been of a long shot IMO, probably end up at Reading too!

Sam Smith actually signed his first ever pro contract with Reading after being released by Man United. Also his best mate has just signed for them (Harvey Knibbs).

Looks like we’re in for a £2M windfall as Ethan Ampadu is in advanced talks with Leeds, fee rumoured to be £12m. We get 20% of any profit Chelsea make, which would be around £10M.

Also set to announce Villa young ‘keeper Sinisalo who will come with criticism from Burton fans as he had a poor loan spell there but hopefully he’ll fit with us.

Always nice when that happens.

We thought we'd be on for a windfall further down the line when we sold Matt Clarke to Brighton with a similar sell on clause. Immediately went on loan to Derby for two seasons, picking up player of the season both times. Then on loan to West Brom for a season. Won player of the season again. Then Brighton decided to offload him with one year left on his contract for a cut price deal to Middlesbrough. Wankers.

Argh that would make my blood boil!

Wouldn’t put it past Chelsea to fuck us over and take a cut price deal with a big sell on instead. Just the sort of thing they’d do!

They've also spent approximately £100k on a defender from Aldershot if rumours are true.

Sounds like Panutche Camara has been training with us today before joining on loan.

We've had a bid rejected for Accrington's Tommy Leigh apparently and over the weekend, reports in Ireland linked us to Jack Moylan, a young lad from Shelbourne. He's out of contract in November/December when their season ends.

Poor loan spell mainly due to the keystone cops defenders infront of him. Wipe slate -benefit of the doubt. see how he does for you guys.

All gone a bit quiet here after an initial burst of signings. In Portugal now so probably have to rely on more loans which isnt ideal

Panutche Camara set to join Charlton on loan once their takeover goes through apparently.

Turned down the chance to join Sheff Wed.

EDIT - didn't see mentioned above :)

Olivier Arblaster finally announced (in the arrivals hall at the airport!)

Loan from Sheffield United, midfielder and made a couple of apps for them, their fans seem to rave about him (we’ve known it was happening since Nixon reported it) so on paper seems a good option.

Probably completes the midfield and needed with TC out for three months.

Just need strikers now as we only have Ellis Harrison!

Sheff United fans seem to suggest he is dare I say “highly rated”. Even got the “should tear it up at that level” (which is amusing as though they haven’t been in this division in the recent past but hey ho). Hopefully he does well and adjusts to the more physical nature of senior football.

They seem to have him in the Jebbison bracket (all be it he was awful against us when Smudge bullied the hell out of him in the cup at Burton!) but seems to be onto big things.

One thing is good that we are getting our long term loans sorted early doors this year at least.

Just having the fan meltdowns over strikers and how we’ve “missed” all our targets despite no one knowing who our targets are!

Last year we went for an under contract one in Harrison so three weeks to see!

Overall goalkeeper area improved, defensive issues appear to be improved and solved (height) midfield seems improved (legs) and wing back we’ve got a younger replacement for Worrall in Clarke and Grant is a huge upgrade on Benning as first choice.

The striker issue is key, especially as Harrison is out a fair bit and replacing Wilson (who is apparently injured for a few months) Taylor and Proctor is going to be critical.

3/4 done though so although hate saying it trust the process I guess!

Well that's put the mockers on it! Anybody who is 'highly rated' or will 'tear it up at this level ' usually turns out to be absolute horse muck. For once, can we please have a loan signing like Bristol Rovers had in league 2 or Plymouth last year rather than the absolute dross we have had on loan over the last few years?

So it seems like Ampadu is going for £7M up front but we get the full 20% on that, so £1.4 on its way to us, which is not to be sniffed at.

Not convinced we’ll spend much of it this window and it’ll probably be divided up into various parts of the club, chiefly the academy.

Did your club actually reveal what percentage you will get for him moving?

We have possible sell on clauses in the contract of young talents we sold to higher clubs, but our club say they are not legally allowed to reveal what percentage we would get if they are sold.

We only know because when he went to Chelsea the deal was agreed by tribunal, so everything was disclosed.
