Usually when we sign a player and fans say he’s crap I take it with a pinch of salt but not this time, whenever I’ve seen loft he’s been woeful, 3 years and a fee just makes it worse, awful signing.

For what it’s worth I do think he has been somewhat scapegoated here for the former DOF gaslighting the fans he was the top striker target last summer. Vale had made a big thing about wanting to go to a more possession based style last season but he is the one of the last players that suits and unsurprisingly got the results it did. What he will give you is great workrate if not much/any technical ability. Three year contract though is an eye opener I won’t lie though.

Jamie Lindsay, with Rotherham the last 5 years, supposedly having a medical today....happy with that if true

He's not great on the ball and not a great long passer, his game is breaking up play and giving the ball to someone who can make something happen.

He doesn't very often score (only 8 for us in 5 seasons) but one thing with Jamie is he will give you everything he can.

His injury record wasn't great last year but we would have kept him, however he decided it was time for a change, maybe he is fed up of playing second fiddle to Ollie Rathbone?

I am surprised he has moved down to Bristol because he was rumoured to want to stay in this area and would have been a great signing for Bradford City or Donny Rovers.

He will receive a warm welcome when he returns as he is well regarded by most Millers.

Cheers for that....we need someone like him....maybe a younger replacement for Finley/fitter replacement for Rossiter....not like for like but we need one or two bodies in midfield

Just reminded today that Mansfield put in a £350k bid for Ollie Watkins when Evans was in charge

Looks like Scott Arfield is leaving the MLS to join us. We tried getting him last season but he opted to go to the U.S, obviously hoping his legs haven't gone but not against the signing. A couple of them types sprinkled into the squad can really be a huge difference over the course of a season.

We have signed 14 so far and 8 have left.
Apparently a few more incoming yet before we are finished.
I think if they gel we should not finish the 24th we seem nailed on to finish at.

Don’t know anything about the lad apart from the standard ‘highly rated’ nonsense, but what an announcement video! Can spot Jon Nolan training with us in the video too.
Tommi O'Reilly is a cracking little (actually, tiny) midfielder with a huge amount of technical ability. No idea how you're planning on playing, but anything other than passing football would probably be a waste of time with him as he has absolutely no physical strength whatsoever. Give him the ball and he'll make things happen, interesting to see how much trust he's given to play his natural game as he's undoubtedly got a lot to give.

Lukas Jensen completes his move to Millwall, rumoured to be a similar fee to Sorenson so around £500k plus sell-ons.

That's around £1m banked this summer, you wonder whether we've opted to sell the above two to keep hold of Erhahon for another year.

Suspect it'll be a loan GK to replace Jensen because I think we see one of the GK's we signed this summer as our number one next season. Unusual to see a Club sign three GK's in one window!

Seriously? Reminds me of when Jack Sparkes left us and went to Pompey last season.

Kite is a solid midfielder at L1 level but nothing more than that, really so I am surprised he’s gotten such a good move. He works hard and can be a ball winner, plus scores the occasional very good goal. However, under both Taylor and Caldwell he’s struggled to hold down a first team spot. He’s also missed a fair chunk of games through injury over the past couple of seasons. He seems to be prone to muscle injuries on a semi regular basis.

Good luck to him though and it’s a great move if it happens.

Agree doubt he will get a first team gig.......Dempsey and Morley cannot. So doubt he will be more than a squad player
Hence i said ok with that and not happy with it

Looks as if we’ve got Tom Eaves in the building from Rotherham. Hopefully will be a decent signing.

Tom has never managed to deliver anything like he should in a Millers shirt.
TBF the fans have been very patient with him as he comes across as a really good bloke.

I suppose, TBF we've never really supplied him with any decent crosses as we played so negatively under Taylor and Richardson, I think he will fair better if you can supply him with some decent balls into the box.

The chances of him getting much game time ahead of JCH, Nombe, Hugill and Andre Green seems remote so it's a good move for all parties.

I wish him all the best and hope he does well for you, except when you play us obviously.

Im happy with this. We have needed a target man type for a few years and assuming Wilson and Morton are going to be fit they both play better with a big man. Wonder if there will be a fee from us, assuming he will get some sort of pay off from Rotherham as imagine it will be quite a drop in wages to us.

Cheers for this. What was hit injury record like? One thing we can no longer afford (and yet seemingly have gambled on) is signing players who are crocked throughout the season. Can remember Eaves being an absolute handful at L1 previously, assuming he is a fairly classic target man?

I think it definitely signifies a change in style for us, losing Leonard and Sherring who were the two who got us playing. Nice to have a focal point up front for our other nippy wingers/strikers to run off.

Hurst mentions that he can play in the 10 or on the wing so that’s where I imagine we’ll be starting him. Sounds promising, thanks for the reply!

Happy that Millwall have taken Jensen, thought they would have tried for Baxter once Southwood came in
Good luck to Jenson had him for 6 months without getting a game.
Kicked on once he went to Lincoln

There's been no inkling he was leaving TBH so no idea how the deal is structured.
I would imagine we will be stumping up part of his wages for the last year of his contract.

He played in about half the games over 2 seasons but a lot of the time he wasn't selected by Taylor, so not particularly injury prone.

Interesting, two different ways to mix it up but will it be hard to interchange between playing Pinnock/Hoskins wide while trying to play 2 up front? especially if Eaves/Morton don't want to play from out wide like Appere.

Seems like we are also wanting to sign Jack Wells-Morrison on loan from Palace.

Tom Eaves signs on a 2 year deal. Left Rotherham by mutual consent so I assume he was paid up there, no transfer fee involved for us. Happy with that all around really.

Love Eaves, he was fantastic for us across two seasons. Yes he can win a lot aerially and a back post header is a regular occurrence, but you'd be surprised how many of his goals were just technically really good. He's physical, a willing runner though lacks a bit of pace, a proper 'team' player who just comes across as a really good bloke that you want to do well.

He deserved a crack at the Championship after his form with us and though it hasn't quite worked out for him up there he's still plenty young enough to be a problem in League One. I'm actually going down to the Northampton friendly against Norwich this weekend so it'll be good to see him.

I'll leave you with this - Eaves with the opener in our win at Portsmouth a few years ago. Not bad.
