It appears we have Muhammadu Faal at the club. Very tall gangly striker with a decent reputation at a lower level (once, and only once, played for Bolton I believe). Didn't play in our friendly yesterday but was going through a fitness test before the game (that test would have broken me).

Our trialist forward scored for the second game. I'm told its Fanimo from Ebbsfleet but I'm not sure. Although he looked good, I doubt if he is league 1 good.

We've signed Sean Clare from Wigan on a 3 year deal for an undisclosed fee, on paper thats quite a coup for us as he's played for Charlton and Wigan at this level.

We got caught out last year with injuries and we appear to be doing everything we can to avoid a repeat - Clare can play in 3 positions if needed.

Be interesting to see what we do at left back now.

Still REALLY need a keeper though.
Very good signing, would have been more than happy for him to still be here

From what little I've seen of Faal over the years he looks about National League level. To be fair I'd have probably said that about Orsi before last season though.

We signed him from some non league team where i think he had scored a goal a game the previous season

Played one game as i remember.,looked dreadful... Just had a look on wiki exceptional goalscoring record since

To be honest i am staggered

Really can’t see Fulham selling him this soon. He has too much potential and would be worth far more than that if he makes it in the Prem.

I've seen a lot of Faal, it was me that pushed for Maidstone to sign him last season!

He's big, he's quick, he's awkward, he scores goals. But I'd be mightily surprised if he made the step to League One, I don't think that'll work at all. National League striker I would say, but then again you're good at making those work.

To ease your doubts, Fanimo is not League One good either.

So that's 5 times more than we've ever paid for a player. Somehow I don't think we will be in the same part of League One next season

More than our record transfer fee too, despite what people say about our spending (although I wouldn't be surprised if we broke that before the end of the window).

Already wanting Birmingham to f off back to the Championship
Most arrogant and insufferable fanbase I’ve witnessed at this level across social media too. Takes some doing to overtake Wolves and Sunderland with arrogance but Brum fans have really taken the piss with it. Seen some of their fans genuinely believe that they should have an invincible season.

I’m sure Sunderland fans thought the same. And it took them years to get out. And Pompey. And many others for that matter.

Feels like it’s boom or bust for Birmingham.

Their fans will probably call it ambition ..

Derby, Wrexham and Bolton in a bidding war for McAtee. Rubbing my hands in anticipation for some sweet sweet sell on money. Any other obscene overspenders fancy getting involved? What are Wigan saying? Are they currently in the shit and almost about to fold or are they just out of the shit and spunking millions on a new squad?

Our squad has flown to Spain for their pre season trip.

Trialist Sam Hutchinson who was at Reading last season is the only trialist thats gone with the squad, all the others we had Matt Penny and Luca Ashby-Hammond all appear to have left.

Hutchinson is nearly 35 years old and plays in central midfield, no idea if we take a punt on him or not but he would very much be a squad player if signed.

Also it would appear George Moncur has not gone with the squad and appears to be staying behind to work on his fitness, which has been an issue for 18months too long now. He's struggled a bit in the pre season and been taken off early in 2 games already, he's one if not our highest earner so we need to do something about him, Wellens has given him enough chances.

Orsi most definitely had something about him the season before he went to Crawley, it was just that Hurst barely ever played him in the league.
We need him to complete a narrative arc in the show.
Wrexham definitely need to post that clip with his name on the whiteboard from series one of the doc as the teaser video before announcing the signing if he does end up with you lot.

Can;t see him coming to us, but then again who knows except for himself? Don't know the lad except for that playoff game where he was exceptional. Much prefer his brother if we're being really picky :D

Some not all. we have had 10 years of garbage, we now have good owners, people are getting excited, thats understandable. I know it wont be a cake walk but having the best players can only help.

Twitter suggesting a big is in from Brum for Jay Stansfield. Wasnt he decent in the championship last year with them? I know money talks but surely he should be going to that level at least again this season.

What is the record transfer fee at this level?

we have broken it twice in the last week, it was Will Grigg sunderland, blues have signed 2 players for over 4 million.

Stanno was much loved last season, proper work horse bags of energy, money talks but he had a great relationship with the fans that may tip the balance for us to get him back and to drop a level
